I hope what EA has put out is true and not PR talk to cover news up. I have little interest in a Bioware without mass effect, Is there any news as to whether the next two andromeda novels are till on track to be released? The fact they didn't shoot down the Kotaku report, and instead just deflected, shows how Andromeda is DOA. Maybe in 5 years we'all hear about a remake of the trilogy - they can never go back to Andromeda after all the hate.

Or EA/BioWare doesn't make it a habit of responding to obvious click-bait articles.
Either one I guess depending on what you want to fit your narrative.
So far, it hasn't been officially put "on hiatus" or "on ice" or whatever so only thing to do is wait and see.
Usually, it takes about 5-6 months for BioWare to release DLC for its games so, if it gets to September and nothing, you probably have your answer. Although, considering there was a recommendation to delay the game until June that was rejected, I'm wondering if patch 1.07 essentially gives us the game we meant to get and DLC comes closer to Nov 2017. Hopefully, they don't wait that long, though

question to everyone in the universe: do you think there will be another ME game? i'm worried No matter how bad people might think MEA is, it made money for EA, maybe not as much as they would have liked but it still made money. Don't worry about it, EA does NOT pass up on something that makes them money no matter what kind of trash it is. Well, yes and no. EA has to consider the opportunity cost of a project as well. If they reckon that the time and resources dedicated to the development of one project could have been directed to a different, more profitable venture, they'll consider the first project a loss.

In fairness, "never go back to Andromeda " was a fairly silly remark, if read as anything but hyperbolic nonsense.

Just like some people thought they's never revisit Mass Effect after the ending of ME3
Go to the BioWare Store...check out the brands - Mass Effect and Dragon Age
They are selling a shit-load off branded merchandise associated with the franchise...they are not going to let that die

I'm not sure what is really the issue here. Game is not bad at all. I understand some people might not like it but it but liking it and hating is whole different thing. What's with all this hate? MEA is a lot like ME1 actually. Sure it's different, they may done some things better but in general is enjoyable. It's good foundation for future games. Many people mix up hate with disappointment. From my view, there is way way more extreme disappointment with BW and MEA then hate. I've seen way too much hate of ME: A lately.

I gues heavy disappointment lead to hate... ME3 endings, DAI and now, after 5 years, MEA... well well. Wanna bet all the people who are disappointed/hate would rather switch place with the people who like MEA, so they can just enjoy it?

Can we get another good gif war going again? I suck at it. I'm too old to fenagle with the iPad and I guess it's pretty easy. Anyway, KOTAKU can lick my balls until they're dripping wet and they still couldn't get the story right. More gifs please.

www.gamespot.com/articles/mass-effect-reportedly-on-hiatus-changes-made-at-b/1100-6449945/EA clarified with GameSpot that there hasn't been any downsizing at BioWare Montreal and shared a statement from studio director Yanick Roy. It confirms some staff have moved over to Motive or are now helping with other BioWare games.
"Our teams at BioWare and across EA put in tremendous effort bringing Mass Effect Andromeda to players around the world," Roy said. "Even as BioWare continues to focus on the Mass Effect Andromeda community and live service, we are constantly looking at how we're prepared for the next experiences we will create. "The teams in EA Worldwide Studios are packed with talent, and more than ever, we are driving collaboration between studios on key projects. With our BioWare and Motive teams sharing studio space in Montreal, we have BioWare team members joining Motive projects that are underway. We're also ramping up teams on other BioWare projects in development. "There will be much more to come from BioWare in the years ahead.” They were clearly not happy with Montreal, if it's now supporting for others again, and doing so quickly after the game was released. This is sad, Montreal has done great things with ME3MP; I don't know what happened, but I don't believe it was their fault alone. Best chance for Mass Effect, is EA still seeing potential in the IP and decide to give it to another studio. Or the majority of the game is finished and they don't need a huge massive team to bug fix and make dlc.

Good morning, all. Just woke up, sipping coffee, and see one of us decided to start insults at another poster, then antagonize them when there was no immediate moderator response (sorry, my time zone was asleep). Let's NOT be doing either of those, yes? Associated posts have been wished into the cornfield. Carry on with the normal, constructive conversation, please.

I would not say that Mass Effect Andromeda is a failure as a game or financially, it is selling more or less what the others sold and will sell a lot more in time, just seems like the media in general is really interested in putting the game down because it is not a Witcher. Of course the game had some issues but with only a couple patches we see a lot of improvement already so what is really the issue here? The game? The story? Does not seem to be either of those 2 in my opinion. Yes, I agree with you, I really thought that, as the 1st game of this new adventure called Andromeda, it was well done, well written in general, they took the time to build the main character, sure there are things they failed to add and so on but overall they are showing that they are taking the feedback received into account, they are releasing fixes and we can see quite an improvement too.

Yep, I think so too, 3 years of development, not counting 2017 that will be used for patches and, hopefully, one DLC.

EA won't turn its nose up at a chance to make some good revenue. This game was a nice chunk of it's profits this year. They won't not do DLC that is easy money. One DLC won't milk it enough. There will be at least two but probably three. They have set up for one already with the Quarians. Also they could do another one with the kett getting more involved in learning about that race. And there is the benefactor as well.
Three years seems likely for a game that already has its base.

In fairness, "never go back to Andromeda " was a fairly silly remark, if read as anything but hyperbolic nonsense. You've got a game that will forever be associated with ridicule - why in the world would you embrace that and put yourself behind the 8-ball for a sequel? EA follows the $$$, and Andromeda is fool's gold. Because it is still mass effect. Andromeda is one game in a series of four. Three of them extremely well in sales and IIRC there was this kind of blowback for ME3 with the endings. Same exact frenzy and oh look, they spent five years making MEA. Just because hostile hateful people want to see it fail and hate the company doesn't mean that will happen. When they release the DLC that they already have done or are working on, won't it be funny to see how all these naysayers change their tune.

This ^^ When I read about the hiatus I thought it was just because they moved staff to work on other projects but then saw people were really making a fuss about it. What strikes me is how many people I see wanting more, wanting DLC, wanting this to not be true. The amount that want this to be true is almost insignificant. So even if this was true, if BW/EA ever take a look at responses, they'd find that far more want it than don't. In fact, my guess is that they are watching.

EA follows the $$$, and Andromeda is fool's gold. Here's how I'd pitch it and you would buy it. Bring in some of the older ME3 team. Consult the ME1-3 writers. "darker story".... Choices will most definitely have consequences... Time has passed between MEA to MEA2 stories. Blah Blah Blah.... Oh, and we listened to the community and have made some adjustments that we think they will appreciate. That, with a couple of sneak peaks with ING hacks.... they say "its different... darker... all in a "good way""... and you... you just pre-ordered for an exclusive skin and rifle ... And so did I
