You don't fix M/M issues by making a straight character bi.

Had to go back to the patch notes to see what the reasons were.

"Scott Ryder did not have a same-sex squadmate available as a romance option, nor could the achievement for completing three romances be achieved with only male same-sex partners."

The achievement thing isn't a big deal, they could have just let Gil count toward that and been done with it, so that is neither here nor there.  The squadmate part you are right about so yeah, adding to the other romances wouldn't have fixed that.  (the rest of their explanation was just blathering so I won't bother with it).

Ah, gotcha.  Thought it was a "squadmate" thing with the achievement too.  Hmmm, so how does a gay Sara get it then?  PeeBee, Suvi... Who is the other one?

Edit:  Vetra I guess.  Forgot about her, guess she is a Sara option too then.
Edit 2: (getting late, brain must already be asleep)  They could have also just let Reyes count toward the achievement.  Still would have left out a m/m squadie in either case though.

Meh, Avela/Keri don't even really count.  Its just a few flirts.  So everyone has 3 now. 

LOL, looking at that list is so depressing.  Even if the CC updates look great I still don't see a romance option there I find interesting enough to go back for another run just to see. /sigh  We need a DLC making Harry and Lexi both bi-options. 

Keri/Avela, sure people could enjoy them, not saying that.  Just I don't really count them as "romances".  More like flings unless they actually add content to them in DLC/sequels.

Harry I would actually do a Sara romance on.  I don't usually go out of my way to do the straight romances, but I dunno, something about Harry I liked.  He had a great VA.  As for Lexi, well no bone needed if you catch my meaning...

Making Jaal bi feels very reasonable. He was always fascinated by the new aliens and his new companionships, hell, he even hangs naked with Liam naturally.

Riiight. This awesome logic again. 'Anyone who had not expressed it otherwise should be considered bi by default'. 

Should it come in writing, I wonder? Is there some kind of 'sexuality confirmation' form? I'm just asking, you know. Because I've never actually told anyone directly that I'm straight (my husband and children included). I've been thinking that the very fact of me enjoying men's company for 30+ years and living with a male husband should speak for itself. But, apparently, it's not all that simple, is it?..



As for the OP  - people are missing the point. Again. It's not about how fitting or lore-breaking Jaal's desire to get into Scotty's pants is.

It's about the bloody fact of rewriting the established major character 
- 3 months past release
- with a patch, somewhere between fixing the driver optimisation and dealing with MP texture glitches. 
- on demand. And they don't even pretend that it's not like that.  
- without actually fixing the issue. Gay Scott has no proper human m\m arc. But hey? At the very least he can have an achievement now. Took them long enough to master counting to 3.

I hope Avela and Keri get more content in DLC and sequels if we continue as Ryder. It sounds like they might due to the dialogue at the end of the romances, and there are ways to work them into stories. 

If no "no bone needed" you mean Lexi would be an ace/demi romance thus no sex involved then I am all for it.
