1.08, 1.09, 1.10 Premium / Arsenal / Reserves Pack research

Later today I will go thru everyone's data and see what hypotheses have already been disproved, or not yet disproved (and therefor seem plausible).

Tonight I have about 4 million credits to spend on testing whatever remains. (Plus I do hope to unlock the Angara UR characters, neither of which I have.)

It may not be useful to your research, but I'd like to share my pack information:

After patch 1.07:

133 Premium packs = 34 UR

After patch 1.08:

21 Reserve packs = 3 UR
21 Premium packs = 7 UR

Longest premium streak without an UR:

Premiums = 8 (I got an UR in the 9th - two times)
Reserve = 9 (I got an UR in the 10th - also two times)

I may have gotten a streak of bad luck regarding Reserve packs, but it seems the drop rate is lower than Premiums (there are some threads in Reddit regarding Reserves/Arsenal packs not giving the correct cards if you had all rares maxed out - a BW employee confirmed this, so they may have fixed this already).

Nah, it was just a bad spell. I believe they have the same chance/counter as premium, and mixing around packs doesn't matter.
My luck has been the opposite.

I was on a 9 in 80+ premium UR dry spell.
I've had much better luck since Arsenal and Reserve came out.

I've received 7 UR in 19 Reserve Packs (6 kit and 1 weapon)
I've received 4 UR in 15 Arsenal Packs (all 4 weapon)

I might stick with reserves to max my characters as I only need 28 more UR kit cards.

That pack also more than likely reset the pity counter...
I regularly play with the same group and we switch our packs around.
We have yet to go longer than 10 packs, but maybe it is luck
Bastiaan made it sound like the packs were the same, with just better weapon or kit chances attached to them.


Kazu... I feel for you as your luck is as bad as mine was!
It will get better as I have been on a recent hot streak.

Looks like Kazu hit the Reserves pack pity timer once (his packs 41-49 -- BTW you need to reset the counter when you switch packs).



Any objection to me spending my 4 million credits primarily on Reserves, mixing in other packs to test if I can break the pity timer?

Of course I have to be about to hit it first (i.e. open 9 Reserves in a row with 0 URs)... if I do I will try some other pack type(s).

There are two claims to test, (A) that you can mix P/A/R and get a pity timer (I think already disproved, but I can disprove again), and ( that each of P, A, R has its own 10-pack pity timer (plausible for Reserves, officially we don't have data on this yet for Premiums nor Arsenals!).

Lenny probably remembers the awesome presentation [yes my own presentation was awesome] I had just put together on the Expert Pack pity timer about 1 day before they changed it (LOL at my efforts). When we get enough data I'll do the same thing for P/A/R packs.

yeah just manually zeroing the "last UR counter" field will work. or just delete the formula from that cell

my question would be, does the pity counter continue on individually with separate counters for each??
meaning worst case-scenario if i buy alternating?

20 Arsenals. 5 URs (4 W, 1 C). Longest dry spell was 7 so couldn't test pity RNG.

19 Reserves. 4 URs (0 W, 4 C). Longest dry spell was 6.
