Oh please stop being so naive. Bioware has always been known to use social media or their forums to tease/hint at new story DLC. The fact that Bioware has not done any of that and it is 3 months past launch is very telling. Waiting for Bioware to announce ME is dead is like waiting for Bioware to announce Jade Empire is dead. Sometimes the best approach to killing a product is not to announce it but rather let it fade into obscurity. Lol, pretty much what I said - being naive, as you say. I said, if they had something to announce, they would do it. But don't expect the to announce a negative.

The Western world is definitely "sanitized" that inside sources storytelling rumormongering = fact, I'll give you that.
Being curious and trying to connect dots of what is going on = not bad in itself. I consider it tantalizing but don't sell it as fact, that is devious.
Kotaku does nothing else selling speculation as fact = clickbait.
Even if Bioware comes with a solid statement that the Mass Effect series is done doesn't mean Oh see Kotaku was right all along. With all their fantasies delivered as fact, they may well be responsible for adding to the killing of the franchise and so do all others who copied and pasted Kotaku's rumormongering.

And that's what they're not allowed to say. The company is keeping their powder dry. Gamble will never tweet about something like that unless the company greenlights it. It's not a sudden development. They didn't say anything, period. Gamble's tweets about patches, well that's what he's expected to publish in order to convey the feeling of the game being supported. You can bet your ass, if they have something to say, there will be a statement. But don't expect them to respond to a negative. If there isn't some kind of DLC they will never say that in order to keep their customers hooked instead of turning their backs. Oh please stop being so naive. And, of course, there's the fact that they did the Jaals male romance in the last romance and it wouldn't surprise me if they had the voice actors do the lines while being in the studio for something else...

There is no rule saying that if voice work is being done then it has to be released. She can come in today to do voice work and get a phone call tomorrow saying thank you for your work but we have decides not to follow through with the DLC.

Can I get a link about the voice actor of GTA 5 saying he ACTUALLY DID voice work, not said "a dlc is coming, there have been talks aobut it" but "I am doing voice work as of now". Because those are completely different, one says there are plans for one (and plans can change) and the other is actually doing work for it, which means some works has been done, which means its paid. Even when EA decides to not continue a series, they make dlc about it. Dead space 3 was the last of the DS, EA knew they were not goona do more of them, but yet they still made dlc for it.

- the only thing people are asking is "will we get DLC ?". Go back to ME2-ME3 when voice actors been spreading twitts about being back in studio, about making some extra stuff, same was with BW guys. Suddenly such a secrecy about extension ? And that's what they're not allowed to say. The company is keeping their powder dry. Gamble will never tweet about something like that unless the company greenlights it. It's not a sudden development. They didn't say anything, period. If there isn't some kind of DLC they will never say that in order to keep their customers hooked instead of turning their backs. If in the next 2-3 months we will not receive ANY info about DLC, even the biggest BW fanatics and Kotaku haters finally will understand that MEA is dead. Simple as that. I don't know how you and other people feel, but i will be furious if this is the way they wanna go with it. And of course BW will never see a penny from me. Ever.

I am not a fan of MEA at all but how anyone can take what Kotaku posts seriously is beyond me. "Unnamed sources" should be your first clue. Editing the post should be the second. Last but not least the 'Americans' dig just makes it so obvious he is after clicks.
By the way just because the voice actor for Cora is in house doing work does NOT mean she is doing work on MEA DLC. With as many projects as Bioware is currently working on it could be for any number of those projects.
EA has always been very tight lipped about what they are or are not doing. However I would be very surprised if they ditched the ME series, as much of a disappointment that ME has been they still made money off the game and if EA is about anything it is about making money.
Give it another couple of months, if we haven't heard anything about SP DLC say by end of August then you can start to worry.

I don't know how you and other people feel, but i will be furious if this is the way they wanna go with it. And of course BW will never see a penny from me. Ever. I'm not emotional about it. I'm neither in love with Bioware nor with the franchise. I had my fun playing the game, but now the steam is out. I'm not itching for another run. It doesn't feel as if there was something new to discover, something to be done so differently that it would make for an interesting change. A first for me as far as Bioware games are concerned. They won't scrap the franchise. At least not openly, since that would really piss off the hardcore fans. I also believe the Quarian DLC will come at some point. Them hinting heavily at the Quarian ark in the endgame makes me believe it was already in production when the main game was released. I may be wrong, but if they already were in the later stages of development, it wouldn't make any sense to scrap it. Apart from that, I don't think we will see any other DLC, part from the usual multiplayer maps. They're easy to produce and a money printing machine with all the microtransaction shit going on.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, Mass Effect is dead...oh wait there is Mass Effect: Discovery and Dragon Age: Knight Errant a pair of new comic book mini-series and there is a pair of ME:A novels in the works, plus toys, models, and a live action movie that is development hell. Mass Effect: Annihilation is supposed to be releasing soon and yet there is no news about it, not even a release date. I wonder why that is? Goto Google and type in Mass Effect: Annihilation and tell me what you see. I don't have to, because I know that info is not revealed and even if it was you just twist it around as "proof" so you can push your stupid " Mass Effect is dead." meme because you hate ME:A so much that you want it to die because it wasn't the game that entitled whinny hardcore gamer troll like you wanted. Well here are some other series that were considered dead: Star Wars, Star Trek, The Transformers, G.I. Joe, Voltron, Superman, and Batman why don't you do a google search about how long they stayed "dead" or how comics, novels, and video games helped keep them alive and popular enough to get major movies and become pop culture institutions.

We live in an era of mass media and crowdfunding. No franchise can truly die so long as it has a following of some kind. Regardless of how Andromeda is perceived (success vs failure) and even if EA kicks the series to the curb, Mass Effect was and is a beloved series. That doesn't mean that it'll get a new game in 5 or even 10 years, but as publishers search for opportunities to make a buck, Mass Effect will always be a ripe target for a new installment or a remaster. Exhibit A: Crash Bandicoot N. Sanity Edition. Crash Bandicoot was a joke for over a decade, and you can even argue ever since Naughty Dog sold the rights to the series. Yet, it gets a remaster. It's not the same as a new game, but the point is that well-known game franchises don't just "die" anymore. Just like classic films, advances in society and technology allow for new things to be done with the subject material.

Unless they are doing a huge expansion, which will take much more time to do. Which means we won't hear about it in the months to come, expansion used to happen a year after the main game was released, it might be a DAO awakening style of thing. well if they were going to be doing an expansion I'd have thought it likely they'd have let us know by now plus I suspect they'd only do that if MEA had exceeded it's sales expectations like DAI did. Expansion is out of the question. And it would be even if ME:A was the most successful BW game ever.

Doesn't help your point And I'm sick of people bashing Americans. It's not like we don't deserve it.

Well, that's what they teach the kids in schools these days "America is bad". Right up until Europe needs us to save their asses again, then it will be all "we love Americans!".
