Except for the fact ME:A keeps getting patches and free minor DLC's. Oh and everyone keeps talking about how dead ME:A is. So on both of those points, you are very wrong. Post launch patches is a completely normal process. That does not equate to future DLC. Time is running out. Everyday that goes by without a DLC hint or announcement the more likely no DLC is coming. For the past 2 years the devs would hype this game up on Twitter and now after release, where is the excitement? Dude, ME:A had more patches in 3 months then any other ME game in entire lifetime. Not even very successful DA:I had that many patches in short time( it took 7 months to get to 8th patch). This is NOT a normal practice from Bioware! Also no, Bioware never hyped about their DLC's. With the sole exception of Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC, which was announced a 1 month before release, every DLC from Bioware was announced from 2 weeks before release til a 1 day before release. And it's been getting even shorter between announcement and DLC release with each new game.

I guess the patches speak to the state the game was in - maybe those other titles sold up to expectations, while Andromeda is trying to grasp and claw for any sales it can still get after falling short, hence the patches. Hoping for good word of mouth to take hold.

This is NOT a normal practice from Bioware! Was DAI in the same need of patches as MEA? Were the other ME games? Did they have the same technical issues at release? They have to patch to take care of the technical issues and by the way, Obsidian still keeps patching their two year old Pillars of Eternity. Not because of big issues, which the game never had, but because of customer care to improve on the experience, while they have long moved on to a different IP.

DLC ? Well i wish you luck with this, cause MEA is dead and forgotten. No one is even discussing this game anymore anywhere else. Except for the fact ME:A keeps getting patches and free minor DLC's. Oh and everyone keeps talking about how dead ME:A is. So on both of those points, you are very wrong. Who is everyone ? The only people who are still discussing MEA are here - on BSN - anywhere else MEA topics are long dead. Patches and minor DLC's ? MP ? Sure. For me ME always was and always will be SP story game. I don't care about MP at all. Let me know when SP stuff for MEA will be out.

Absolutely, DA:I still suffers from technical and performance issues, buggy quests and party dialogues. Also ME1 still to this day did not get patched that it desperately needs. Making that game still the buggiest piece of software Bioware had ever released without any intention to ever patch it. Meanwhile ME2 and ME3 still require quite a bit of patching too, yet they never received proper patching.

So it's not like internet that discusses... everything. And silence wouldn't be an answer, all I'll get is ME:A is dead because of Kotaku's article with no evidence to back up it's claims. Clearly not silence. Your points are just collapsing under your feet.

MESA being constantly patched... that says a lot about the state of the game where you still can't save manual save during priority missions.
We have no sale figures. Nobody mentioned it yet.
Countless reports of trouble at Montreal. Devs not knowing if there will be a sequel.
Montreal not hiring anymore.
No solid hint towards DLC. Just MP.
The indication is that something ain't going as planned, there's just too much evidence. I will be content if we get at least one DLC. But I'm not too excited.

The indication is that something ain't going as planned, there's just too much evidence. I will be content if we get at least one DLC. But I'm not too excited. The problem is this isn't 'too much evidence'. I don't even understand the logic of how a game being constantly patched is taken as evidence that it has been abandoned. Normally you'd need to opposite to happen to come to that conclusion. The main issue is that we haven't really been given much of anything to go on. There were apparently issues at Bioware Montreal but outside of the Kotaku article - which, while I'm sure is at least partially true, was written for clicks and is prone to sensationalisation as any other piece of journalism (it had to be revised almost immediately thanks to it's leading title, and the author's weird attitude after didn't help with its credibility). Then, as you point out, we have no sales figures. There's been no further articles which is a little surprising given that there's appetite for them and Bioware Montreal has apparently turned into Schroedinger's Studio, in that it is both gone and supporting the game. Things like 'it's been three months and no DLC therefore ME is dead' and the studio not posting job ads are realistically grasping at straws. Bioware have a track record of not really marketing DLC before release and I'm not sure about the logic of why a studio would be expected to hire people after it had pushed a big project. It could well turn out that all of the rumours are true and we're not seeing any DLC, but you can't use the absence of something as a conclusion in of itself.

Is it would always be a vague answer lile that but at least it wasn't SILENCE which is what we arw getting now. Again, the writing is on the wall but you choose to ignore it. Dude, listen to yourself. 'THEY NEVER IGNORED US, THEY JUST DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING SOLID!'. Come on. Look, it may be that there isn't any DLC coming. But splitting hairs over stuff like this is silly.

1) A game constantly being patched doesn't mean much. That's a whole different thing than releasing expansions, a small team can do that, and it's easier than doing the former. I'm not sure what is getting you to be worked out over what I said, because I basically stated both scenarios can happen, but that I see the one where we get no post launch content being the most likely. That's all. Also, as some stated before, all three studios were always hiring, Montreal not doing that now, is rather suspicious. I also don't understand why you can't see that as well. And I didn't say anything about three months. In fact, we will know the truth soon enough, I'm just not feeling it's going to be what we want to hear.

They ignored answering any DLC related question in past. It's pretty standard. Also, I love how you just don't count reddit because they discuss everything. So it's not like internet that discusses... everything. And silence wouldn't be an answer, all I'll get is ME:A is dead because of Kotaku's article with no evidence to back up it's claims. Clearly not silence. Your points are just collapsing under your feet. No no no! They NEVER ignored answering DLC questions in the past. They never confirmed when DLC is coming, but when asked by fans, they reassured us by saying they are still hard at work exploring ways to continue the story. Is it would always be a vague answer lile that but at least it wasn't SILENCE which is what we arw getting now. Again, the writing is on the wall but you choose to ignore it. This. But we shall see, DA2 got DLCs despite everything, I just don't remember studios being reportedly being "shut" down back then.

And I didn't say anything about three months. In fact, we will know the truth soon enough, I'm just not feeling it's going to be what we want to hear. I'm not getting worked up, merely pointing out that arguing a game has been abandoned because it's being patched doesn't make sense. The conclusions about job ads are flawed too, as there's dozens of reasons why a studio would stop posting job ads. Blizzard stopped posting job ads during its dev of Overwatch (they've only changed relatively recently). iD stopped posting ads during it's dev of Doom. A dev studio typically only posts job ads when it needs more staff to to work on a new project, which we already know is not the case at Montreal because the staff there are being shifted to work on SWBF2. A 'lack of job ads' almost never means a studio is being dissolved by itself as, well, you know, it normally gets announced that a studio is getting dissolved. I was in the job market a few months back and IBM had stopped posting job ads. Holy smokes batman, I guess they're going out of business too, right? At currently $150 a share? Ultimately all of this might come to pass, but drawing conclusions from what we know currently is basically like trying to divine the future from tea leaves. The three months thing was referring to the similar kind of claim that some random occurence (in that case, a lack of info 3 months after release) that ordinarily wouldn't garner any attention at all magically became trumpeted as solid 100% evidence that the sky was falling. Same kind of thing as job ads. People seem obsessed with scraping together any and all incidental info and dressing it up as the end times.
