I think since patch 1.08 the animations and faces look fine and people (not you but others) need to get over what's no longer even there. My Sara looks more real then my Inquisitor did, and her hair moves freely, something DAI never did. I'm quite satisfied.

It's the initial complains when the game first released which is what people complained about the most. I personally have no problem with the current game with patch 1.08. The OP just wasn't sure why there are so many complains but it's the same case as with ME3 ending before the extended cut which made a lot of people mad. If you play the game with patch, there shouldn't be as much problem. I'm just pointing out where the initial rage coming from. They pissed off almost everyone with this game when it was first released.

The game looks amazing now, but so many use the excuse of the old animations we'll never see again. Especially Addison looking so sad when she learns of Alec's fate, and Ryder's solemn nod. The new opening to the Tempest, which is more Normandy-style now and the shaders which toned down makeup and enhanced skin textures, and the sole-filled eyes that sparkle and reflect light. Liam's eyes reflect my gold Nomad in the cargo bay now.

In regards to the updates. I generally agree with him. I feel the main draw of DA Is maps were the environment. The mis en scene if you will. Barring a few exceptions my ranking of the maps were how beautiful i found them.
But with Andromeda i tended to rank them on the strength of their plots.

You assume that the ONLY problem people had with MEA were animations and that everyone should roll out the red carpet for MEA cause it received animation patches. Well for many, the problems with MEA extend well beyond animations but rather characters, how the open world is executed, how the narrative and story is executed and so on. Not everything wrong with MEA can be fixed with patches and not everyone has to give MEA a second (or 3rd) chance just cause it was patched. As the old saying goes, you only get 1 chance to make a 1st impression and sometimes, that 1st impression is the lasting impression.

No you assume I assume that, but I was talking to blood about the animations in general since that's what was brought up. The only thing wrong with MEA is what people find wrong with it, since everything is opinions and not hard facts that are the word of God.

They may have fixed some of the animation quality issues with 1.08, but I still feel that everyone's eyes, and in particular the human characters', do not have natural movement - they're all a bit expressionless and dazed looking.

Movement in general has been changed in a strange way. Eyeballs move a lot, hair flies round like crazy and Jaal's once more tamed poncho is trying to swallow him and anyone who stands near him now. I did solve the glowing mouth issue though. I had to turn on SSAO/HBAO and it went away.

Before the patch movements were much calmer, but it seems everything's more fluid now. I nearly died laughing when my Sara was watching the vid about Spender and her eyes went into seizure mode. Fixed it by adjusting my graphic settings (found the perfect balance), but it was creepy and hilarious at the same time!

And this has always been my main problem with open worlds: should I kill this guy? What if 100 hours later I find out that he could help me with a quest? Should I enter this area? What if someone send me there later for some reason and I had spoiled something like, I don't know, making some people hostiles? I always get anxious when I play open worlds and in the end I always end up looking at walktroughs just to know what I can do and what I mustn't do every time. That shouldn't be a problem with this game, since there are only generic dropped in enemies whereas every other NPC is invulnerable. You can't even draw your weapon outside of a clear cut combat situation anyway.

Ooh, I'm gonna have to try that. The glowy mouth thing is just wrong. Would be nice if all the settings you can adjust had descriptions attached of what they actually do.

update #2 :some thoughts: One thing Andromeda fails is the geography, map design, landmark design. I kinda like the planets (the themes) ive been so far but something is missing in all of them. the geography is boring. the level-map design is boring. The vistas are not there. the landmarks are not there. it is not that they are barren cause Hissing waste and Western approach were barren but also very beautiful. Also a big fail immersion breaking for me is the flaura and fauna. There are boring as well. The fauna... consists of what??? a jerky moving raptor and some huge ass beetles?but any meaningful questline was a beast to look and roam at! too many landmarks, too many steeps but interesting ones! i remember the river that poured into the sea. I remembver the views from above. everything. This alone made storm caose one of my favorite zones in inquisition. i always was eager to go there. I don't agree... I could spend all day looking out from the top of Mithrava watching the Manta flying... still trying to get a scan of one, just because. After one clears the sky on Voeld, there are some terrific views with northern lights going on in the background as well. I find that there's a huge variety of flora. I will agree that they could have introduced a few more varieties of fauna... but since most people, I'm sure, just use them as easy kills and don't seem to even want to notice the variety that is there, it might have been a wasted effort on Bioware's part. I also love the level design of Havaarl... while you can choose to do the quests in any order, they still make sense... I don't feel as though I'm deliberately flying past areas to avoid triggering quests that I'm planning to save for later. Driving in the snow on Voeld felt like a sleigh ride... great fun. The unusual electrical storms on Habitat 7 were also very interesting to just watch. You are, of course, entitled to your opinion... and I mine. hanarl is an exception due it is not so open world and a more linear open level, i also liked voeld but it is no *insert any zone of inquisition* either. also on my ps4 pro the draw distance is attrocious! things don't spawn until they are pretty close. an example , driving with nomad and Cora remarks about the smoke i the distance but there is No smoke, u until i get next to some wreckage and there is smoke all of a sudden. Eos is a missed opportuninty , there should be more interesting stuff, NOT just a lake, NOT just a valey with kett turbines, hope outpost wascool though.

Who on earth think rpg's should do allow that? This is not freedom, this is Call Of duty.

I hated that in Oblivion, before I modded it so NPCs couldn't die, massive numbers of NPCs were killed by monsters and enemies. I had a game where it was like a ghost town everywhere due to gargoyles killing everybody. So I'd never go on a killing spree myself.

Why on earth on dark souls games should one kill the blacksmiths or npcs? Loot? Imagine of we could kill anderson. what would change for the better? In the first deus ex you could kill theoriticaly npcs but then again who actually did it except bored gamers in their uptenth playthrough? This is it ,i think, bored gamers in their uptenth playthrough want to kill npcs.

It's not good or bad in itself. To give an example, if you build a settlement in FO4, it can get attacked. If you take part in defending it, you have to be extra careful where and at what you aim your gun. Otherwise you end up shooting your own guys. It's basically friendly fire on every difficulty level, which doesn't allow for blindly firing away with everything you got. Such as Liam in MEA throwing his grenades wherever he pleases. It adds an element of realism to the fighting, which I personally like. Better have a look through the scope of your weapon or VATS before you kill these guys sitting around a fire from your hiding spot. They might be raiders, but they also might be a band of travelling merchants or harmless civilians.

I simply cannot play them without it. Mass effect is another case however due to the chaos of explotions, biotic tech and combat.. dont know how this could be done. Maybe it could work!

The vistas are not there. the landmarks are not there. it is not that they are barren cause Hissing waste and Western approach were barren but also very beautiful. Also a big fail immersion breaking for me is the flaura and fauna. There are boring as well/ The fauna... consists of what??? a jerky moving raptor and some huge ass beetles?but any meaningful questline was a beast to look and roam at! too many landmarks, too many steeps but interesting ones! i remember the river that poured into the sea. I remember the views from above. everything. I am setting up album with ultra settings screenshots from MEA. Very curious what will you say after you see all those ´ boring ´ planets. And lacking flora and fauna? The planets were DYING and detroying themselves, until Ryder reset the vaults. I am pretty sure in sequel (if we ever get one...btw thanks haters and trolls!) Heleus cluster will look very different after proper activation of Meridian. But that ´ s just my guess.
