I only played Witcher 3 and how does the creator calling someone a retard make the game worse. And someone at Bioware made racist post about white people and I like MEA. Oh, I'm sorry, but if the creator calls you a retard and not a true fan because your only investment in the universe doesn't come from his books, that really smells of bullshit. And I know about Heir, he didn't make shit. Hmm. Wonder when the karma is hitting on that one. Oh well it still don't take away from how good Witcher 3 is. I liked Witcher 3 and even if the creaor of the game is an asshole it doesn't make the game worse It just make the creator of Witcher an asshole. Why you got me defending a game I think is good but overrated again?

I don't rate games like it's a school grade. A 50/100, for example, isn't a fail. It's a truly average game score. I also rate strictly; not on a curve like IGN. A game has to be great to get at least an 80, and no way is ME:A a great game. It's merely good.
And so I'd rate it, at best, a 65/100. Even with patches in mind, the score should still suffer from how I received it at launch. To be fair, even if there were no bugs at all, I wouldn't even give it a 70. The story is too uncreative, too many opportunities were left untapped, choices were kept too safe, role-playing was too reduced from previous iterations, etc.

Why you got me defending a game I think is good but overrated again? Wait, we agree on something? Halle-fucking-lujah. Common ground to stand on. I especially hate how it "redefined the genre" ... it makes me wonder if people actually take the time to see a dictionary, what does redefine actually mean. There is absolutely nothing new or gamechanging about the Witcher. It's simply a good RPG, but still follows the likes of BioWare's early titles or even Elder Scrolls with it's core basis. It didn't redefine shit. Overhyped piece of garbage that's supposed to be the best because it changed a lot of things... while actually keeping up with the same stuff other RPGs did before. Personally, I'd only replay it for the combat. Which is beyond pathetic for an RPG.

I'm not sure to buy it now or wait ,it's 50% discount now , and i really care about the score on metacritic , so what could the score be from your side after patch ? Before I decided to buy or not ? That's a very individual question that can only be answered on an individual level. The patches didn't do anything to make me rate it higher than I did at release. They polished stuff but they didn't add what I was missing. I still rate it somewhere between 7 and 8. Combat is a huge improvement compared to previous games. But I wasn't looking for that. I was looking for story, companion interaction and space to explore. That's where I was disappointed. For me it's not a bad game as my individual rating shows. But it's the weakest Bioware title I ever played and I don't feel any inclination to replay it.

I think it will be something of a 6-7/10 for me. The game's okay, but doesn't stand out in any way and is quite forgettable. I barely remember the story and the game is completely devoid of 'wow!' moments, except for maybe the final mission, which I didn't play. This maybe has to do with the almost complete lack of cinematics. I have to hand it to Bioware that the game has a lot of content but the problem is that the content just feels... bland. A friend of mine, also a huge Mass Effect fan, asked me if he should buy the game. With pain in my heart I suggested to him that he should wait. Atleast until a significant discount hits the stores. Maybe by then the patches have fixed and improved more of the game. The things which I don't really like about the game however are very difficult to be patched because they're part of the game's core. Don't think my personal rating will therefore really improve in the future.

I echo the sentiments of many here. The game, to me, is about a 7/10. It is an entertaining shooter. It is NOT a compelling rpg. So if you're cool with driving around in the Nomad and then stopping to shoot something, and then driving around some more, then stopping to shoot something else, you will be fine.

I'd personally put it around 7/10, maybe closer to 8/10 when all the patches are put through and if we get some DLC content. I enjoyed it, but if you're looking for replay value, it really depends on what you're playing for.

Basically this game excelled in three areas. RP. Story. Gunplay.

I'm not one of the few lucky ones there are a lot of people who enjoy this games RPG and story. I don't have the numbers to know which are in the majority but when you are c talking about posters and not threads (a silly factor to judge this kind of thing on) the people i know of are about equal.

For me it's an 88 out of a 100 game. Some things could've been done better but I greatly enjoyed the story, the cast and the environments. I certainly have no regrets buying it on pre-order.

Around 8.5 pre patch, now 9.0 to 9.25. With Citadel level DLC, cpuld be up with Inquisition at that 9.75 range. That means greatest of all time level for me.

Not because of the animations or minor bug fixes, but solely due to the story and characters.

I'm not trying to convince you to like the game... just to realize that the split between people who like the game and people who don't is more even than the number of negative threads and the relative numbers of posts would possibly lead one to believe since there are a few people here that make a hobby out of starting threads and those individuals are by the large the ones who are overtly negative about the game. The data are there though (public), so you can access it if you want to... it's up to you.

Ii is entirely possible I am wrong, however I joined this forum shortly before the game's release and while I cannot give you numbers, I do not recall people saying the combat was bad/poorly done/a major issue. Yes, there were complaints about animations and bugs, many of which have been fixed at this point. But I DO recall many, many, many threads of people discussing poorly written chars, inconsistent plot points, and lackluster new races.
I really am happy for you(and others) that you enjoyed it, but I THINK you might be in the minority here.
