I really am happy for you(and others) that you enjoyed it, but I THINK you might be in the minority here. Not according to user polls done on this forum, they are all generally positive.

If I wasn't such a huge Mass Effect fan, I would have waited for a discount.
50% off isn't bad at all. The patches did somewhat help it out. 7 out of 10.
With being a Mass Effect fan and updates, 8 out of 10. I'm just very invested in the series but I'm very forgiving to problems they are willing to fix. It's nice to see support on the game.
I bought a new game recently, and played 5 hours. I regret it because it looked like something I would play alot.
You'll find some people say play past the first 10 hours and see if you like it after that point. My POV - if you don't like the set up, you'll not enjoy the rest as much.
If you could buy it used, try it out for acouple of days then return it before 7 days for a full refund. It's the safest bet money and time invested-wise.

So many people enjoyed it that it's getting wiped from existence... I don't think as many people liked it as you think. i don't think one way or another but to right off someone's opinion off as belonging to some rare group is disingenuous. Saying the two sides are "equal" when the game is being shunted is also disingenuous.

I don't rate games like it's a school grade. A 50/100, for example, isn't a fail. It's a truly average game score. I also rate strictly; not on a curve like IGN. A game has to be great to get at least an 80, and no way is ME:A a great game. It's merely good. I'm never really sure where people are with everything that's not terrible being in the very high numbers. The "average game is a 50/100" system at least gets around that, so maybe 65-70 on that. But if the score is what percentage of stuff works (so 50% means only half of it is even functional, which would be an almost unplayable game, so such a scoring system is questionable at best) maybe 80, mostly because of the slogging around maps with very little new to see in them. A 50% discount sounds like a decent price. Personally speaking I don't think it was worth the full price, but I've got quite a bit of enjoyment out of it despite that.

I would say probably 7/10 at launch probably 8 now as a lot o the bugs that have been irritating me have been zapped but for the most part I'd have said it's always been a pretty solid game.

*Begins the ancient ritual to summon THE ONE, He who must not be named, the faceless gimp, Lord of the Shadows, The Dread Reaper*
10/10 of course, it's better than the Witcher 3 and Breath of the Wild. Nice b8.

I'm sure there are people who, following the patches, have found the game much more enjoyable. I struggled through the release version, then started a 2nd playthrough after 1.06 i thnk, but couldnt get past Eos. Not because of the animations or minor bug fixes, but solely due to the story and characters. That's fine... I'm not trying to convince you to like the game... just to realize that the split between people who like the game and people who don't is more even than the number of negative threads and the relative numbers of posts would possibly lead one to believe since there are a few people here that make a hobby out of starting threads and those individuals are by the large the ones who are overtly negative about the game. The data are there though (public), so you can access it if you want to... it's up to you. Not to troll but just because I'm genuinely interested, what are the sources that you have which point out that the negativity on this forum is overblown? As far as I know we simply lack the overview Bio or EA have to make statements about the ratio of fans liking/disliking the game. But then again, I haven't really searched yet. I must say that, from a personal point of view, reactions to the game aren't that positive. From the eight real life ME fans I hang out with only two finished the game. The others were quite dissapointed for various reasons. Now the other people who might have bought it aren't going to buy it anymore. I'm not presenting this as an universal truth or relevant argument, in fact, I know that it's just a personal experience and nothing more, but I do wonder how that relates to the bigger picture. When I go to Mass Effect related social media for instance, like the official facebook, I also see a lot of negative comments. Some by trolls, but a lot by disgruntled and dissapointed fans. And yes, I do know that that doesn't say anything persé because we always deal with a silent majority. Still makes we wonder what the numbers really are.

A game has to be great to get at least an 80, and no way is ME:A a great game. It's merely good. And so I'd rate it, at best, a 65/100. Even with patches in mind, the score should still suffer from how I received it at launch. To be fair, even if there were no bugs at all, I wouldn't even give it a 70. The story is too uncreative, too many opportunities were left untapped, choices were kept too safe, role-playing was too reduced from previous iterations, etc. I don't tend to either I tend to base a game on whether I like it or whether I don't and that's just about it. In terms of the graphics and the game itself I liked it. It was mostly the fact that it released in a buggy state for me that kind of held the game back and drops the score for me a point or 2. Thankfully these things have either been sorted or are it seems as the game runs quite smooth on my system now compared to launch.

Re: the creator calling people retards - what's this about? The guy who wrote The Witcher books has been on record stating that he only sold the rights to CDPR for money and pretty much doesn't like video games and thinks the games are vastly inferiors to his novels because he thinks he's the next Tolkien or Martin. He doesn't like all the young people reading and buying his books. He doesn't relate to them because he's in late 60s or early 70s. The things is the game made the books successful or more successful. Chances are more people came to his books through the games and it's the games that got it a Netflix series and without the games The Witcher would be just a Polish Game of Thrones knock-off series of books. Back on topic: ME:A before and after the patches is a 4.5 out 5 (or a 9.5 out 10).

I'm not one of the few lucky ones there are a lot of people who enjoy this games RPG and story. I don't have the numbers to know which are in the majority but when you are c talking about posters and not threads (a silly factor to judge this kind of thing on) the people i know of are about equal. Yeah I know some people o other forums who feel that MEA is their favourite ME and whilst I wouldn't quite go that far as it's not mine I still like the game a lot as it would take a lot for it to shift ME2 in my eyes which is my current favourite ME

I really am happy for you(and others) that you enjoyed it, but I THINK you might be in the minority here. Not according to user polls done on this forum, they are all generally positive. Really? In this thread alone, I'm seeing lots of 7/10, 6/10 scores. People who thought the game was ok, but not worth full price. Heck, on the first page of the forums is a poll where 27% thinkit would be better " if the game never existed"! And I'm sure a lot of the people who really didnt like the game have left these forums. Now, maybe its just your definition of positive is a lot lower than mine. This being a Mass Effect title, I had some expectations going in. This isnt a new company where Andromeda is their first attempt at a big game....they have established themselves over multiple games, multiple titles. As such, when I say Andromeda was a 6/10 before patches, 7/10 after....that's a decent game, but pretty bad considering I was expecting 9/10.

Scoring like it's a school scale, even without the bugs and the technical issues it was just an average game to me, so 7/10. But taking into account everything I'd have to say 6- 6.5. I didn't like the protagonist, or the tone of the game, and the story never really made much sense to me,

I don't know how anyone can objectively score this game an 8 or 9. I do my best to objectively critique games based on a number of aspects. This game is average-bad in most of them. They do well in very little categories that I can justify any more than a 6 or 6.5/10 at best. I don't know, I guess subjectivity could be in people's opinions. I don't usually care what people score games, but for some reason this game...when people give it like a 9/10 I react like "are you nuts?"

The score of too little too late. After 70 hours of sp and 1600 APEX in mp, this game is getting traded in.

Heh, according to this Razorfist guy he just blatantly ripped off Elric of Melniboné. The likes/dislikes are split!
