So like it or hate it we can all agree this game has been a disaster for EA, Bioware, and the Mass Effect name. Would you be ok with them marking the next game take place back in the Milky Way and abandoning Andromida. I think it might be a good idea to market a return to the Mass Effect roots and kinda sweep the whole Andromida thing under the rug.
Also I am talking about a whole new story and characters. Not bringing the Ryder's and crew back to the Milky Way. I know people will complain about all the lose ends in Andromida. But I just feel like the story idea of going there turned people off before the game even came out...

Nope, they started a story in Andromeda And I want it to be finished, you just don't leave a plot or a story there unfinished.
We already know what happened in the milky way. And if they want to go in the milky way, they will have to take a canon ending, something I would despise. I made choices in the milky way and I don't want any other to be impose to me.
If they leave the andromeda galaxy, I am going to be pissed off because that would be a coward move. It would be abandonning characters and a setting unfinished.
In the andromeda galaxy, I still want to know who was the benefactor, what happen to the quarian ark? who are the jardans? who are the race that made the scourge? I want to know what exactly is the senate and what about the other ketts.
There is so many things that deserves closure in the andromeda galaxy, most of the plots was done in the milky way, most of the mystery finded answers, but we did not finded them in the andromeda settings.
So no I would not be ok if they just leave it and return to the milky way to bank on nostalgia, we deserve closure in the andromeda settings about the unresolve plot.

your post in no way is reflective of my opinions and feelings. I would play whatever BioWare makes, but I prefer Andromeda story continuation with or without Ryder/returning characters.

Disregarding whether people like Andromeda or not
This is space, people have issues if they think going back to the Milky Way or going to other galaxies is an issue cause there's countless ways to handle both, that's why the space setting is so appealing. You can drop Ryder (whom Bioware has said they may not even continue on, and Andromedas ending doesn't give any implications that Ryder will be "needed" for future games) and still continue on in Andromeda with another protagonist. The galaxy isn't ruined just by Ryder's story.
So in short, I don't care what galaxy we're in, one isn't better than the other and both still offer the same potential, unless you pick the ridiculousness that was the synthesis ending cause I'd love to see how that gets handled.

No i'd be very disappointed if they ditched the potential they'd set up in Andromeda, especially so as the only to return to milky way would be to overwrite choices by canonising certain trilogy choices or having a pointless prequel.

I think Bioware should make a proper Mass Effect 4 in the Milky Way, but also they can continue the Ryder story as a spin-off series, like Stargate SG1 in the MW galaxy and Stargate Atlantis in the Pegasus galaxy.

What difference would it actually make? We brought so many Milky Way races along, especially once the Quarians and their super diverse entourage show up, that for all intents and purposes the Andromeda galaxy is the same as the Milky Way. We've only met two new races here which we could just as well have stumbled upon in the largely unexplored Milky Way too.
It's not like the writing would suddenly get better again just because we're back in the Milky Way.
Might as well keep going with the Andromeda story thread.

Then what do they do about ME3 ending? Do they just pretend Shepard picked control? I don't get why everyone wants to leave Andromeda when we barely explore it. All we got to see is one small cluster not the entire galaxy.

As much as I would like to see the world burn, do you really think that going back to the Milky Way is really going to have a different reception then what Mass Effect: Andromeda got? I understand that some people want to go back there, but thinking anything would be different is setting yourself up for disappointment. At least staying with Andromeda BioWare is able to skip a lot of the "that isn't how my choices worked out".

Nope. I don't think it would happen anyway, as I read that developers were adamant about respecting player choices for the endings, but I definitely wouldn't want to return to the Milky Way. Andromeda is worth exploring, as Ryder or someone else.

So like it or hate it we can all agree this game has been a disaster for EA, Bioware, and the Mass Effect name. First off, you think everyone here would agree on something? Here, the Bioware forum? NO ONE agrees on ANYTHING here. That's the most ridiculous statement I've read on the forums yet, and I still remember the "Tali's sweat" fiasco. Secondly, I don't agree it has been a disaster. At all. MEA is still one of the top selling games for May, all indications point to it being a financial success (just not a financial gold mine), and while it's not a critical success, it's also not a critical failure, it's just critically "ok". But, I'm sure someone will disagree with me, reinforcing my first point. Thirdly, no, I don't care for a return to the Milky Way currently, until they flesh out some more things in Andromeda. And I don't know how to go back to the Milky Way without a reboot, which I'm not in favor of at this time.

Nope! Too many mysteries to solve in Andromeda and as PeeBee said, "the MW was so been there, done that" and I agree. MEA was actually quite successful, so they will continue the saga as planned.
