So reasons why we may not answer your question:

1. We can not because of a contractual obligation
2. We can not because of SEC or other regulatory laws
3. The information would trigger a revenue recognition issue
4. It's a surprise

6. We are avoiding bad news. We try to avoid doing this because it rarely works out. But it does happen on occasion.

They are not really "public" for a company with forums and tweeter and other forms of communications.
This only makes their business look shady, they're an entertainment(lol) business, not the FBI.
And the fact they're deleting negative company reviews and not commenting on the status of BW Montréal is a legal concern to the well being of the developers.

Why do you expect any company to communicate negatives? No corporation does that. If there is something positive to communicate, such as a DLC, close to it's release date, they will promote it. If there is none, they will keep schtum. Even more so since they didn't promote MEA to be expanded on prior to it's release. So the anticipation train is entirely usermade and not something the company fueled in the first place. It's some players looking for hints in every corner, not the company encouraging them to do that in any official statement.

I think it was Link"Guess"ski, but it was some months ago, someone posted screenshots of negative EA/BW reviews on GlassDoor that were deleted.

Why should they? Just because you want to know isn't a reason for them to possibly put themselves into a position of a no-win situation. Glassdoor is a completely unregulated website that those "reviews" could have been removed simply because they were false, but because it is EA its always the worst case scenario. Would I like to know if Mass Effect is gone, sure. The problem is at a company like EA making an announcement like that is a major decision that cannot be walked backed easily and frankly they might not even know internally yet what they want to do, but then again Patrick Wilson said that they remain dedicated to BioWare and Mass Effect during their investor's call, but that is easily dismissed because it doesn't fit the narrative.

I used to check Glassdoor through alerts on Bioware and a few others. I have noticed one particular review disappear and I know the author. It does happen if it's refuted or unverified. EA had better figure out how to lead through its PR departments rather than chasing sentences on the web. If that's the case, EA is petty and seriously wants another dogfight in the media. Stupid asses.

They would be stupid to keep ignoring the fans. People aren't gong to accept that anymore, so they will have to do a DA2 Expansion cancellation-type of announcement eventually. Then shit will fly.

The 10 year thing was mentioned be the devs if I recall. They think MP is God.
