Logic would suggest this would be the same source, but I'm far more willing to take this kind of thing seriously if it's being independently reported.

I do agree about there being no official word from Bioware. But Eurogamer is somewhat more believable when reporting than Kotaku (not much more, this is gaming media afterall). As they claim their own source is saying the same.

Though the source could be their friend Dave who has never worked in the gaming industry at all.

Until Bioware make statement either way, it's either coming or not. I'm not going to take notice of any more anonymous sources, or articles fuelled by speculation. I'll be happy if it does, disappointed if it doesn't, but I refuse to let the time between be taken over by an unnecessary emotional "it is/it isn't" roller-coaster.

IDK what has happened to journalism in the last couple of years, but this surge of unverifiable anonymous sources, click-bait reporting and filling in the gaps with whatever will have the greatest impact on readers has put me in a state of automatic dismissal of everything I read. It's like everyone has suddenly graduated from the Enquirer.

+1, Eurogamer are a bit more respectable than Kotaku. In fact, IIRC, this is the first time I've seen anything report this independently of Kotaku.

OTOH we're still back to square one with 'well I heard from $SOURCE that etc' which realistically anyone can say. I'm in logicgunn's camp of growing a little sick of how clickbaity gaming journalism has become. Just tell me the facts you have FFS. If you want a soap box then mark your article as a commentary or something.

Exactly. There's a marked difference between news and opinion pieces. Both are fine, but masquerading opinion as fact is undermining the industry.

If there are lives involved, anonymous sources are important. If you're going to use or pretend to use them for rumours of a game then you are sabotaging a valid and important journalism resource for the sake of vanity. This is Bioware, not North Korea.

When the DLC comes out, I want the same thing to happen to these tabloid hacks' careers as what the audience they're pandering to wants to happen to the creators and fans of Mass Effect.

They also claim that Montreal's BW was moved around due to the game not doing well. That's Kotaku's info once again being used as fact.

Also forgot to mention in my original comment, but Eurogamer also states there is no longer BioWare Montreal as all developers were moved to to other projects.

Which is quite false, considering MW Montreal is still around and releasing free content and patches. This week will be first time they won't release nor update anything, but that's due to Canada Day and 4th of July. Nothing unexpected.
