Maybe we should make up are own rumors. I would laugh if they got reported on. I can do it man. I can really do it, but who would it help? Most of the speculation that I can think of is detrimental to EA and BioWare. Yes, I can come at EA with nuke-sized rumors, but I'm also starting to see EA's point of view. I'm not having a stroke or a change of heart. I'm getting educated thanks to people like Abaris and a few others.

It bothers me as a journalist how easily people assume unnamed sources are just imaginary, and reporters just make stuff up. Even in gaming news, these are people with professional pride in finding the truth and providing it to the public.

Let's also not forget to add that people asked for improvements to the Character creator and were given it too. With the same reply! They couldn't talk about it until 2 days before the patch. All they said was they were looking into it. 2 months go by and nothing. DLC is the same. JOH blind sighted a lot of people. goes to show though things can happen though if we want them enough.

That's what I thought too, but they do say the books are the prequels and sequels to events in the game, so it's hard to say. We also have Initiation coming out before Annihilation. Annihilation is apparently dated for September 1st, while there is no concrete release date for Initiation. Another thing that's occurred to me, though...is that Initiation's cover has been released, but not Annihilation's, apparently. It's not on the ME Wiki and I can't find it on Google Images. So I think it's safe to assume that Annihilation's very cover would have spoiled something in the main game itself, which is probably why they changed the title as well. So who wants to take a wild guess at what race the character on the cover will probably be?

At the end of the day journalists are just journalists. They're just humans trying to do their job and make a buck and are prone to making blunders like everyone else. Whatever. I'm far more interested in who these DLC sources are and why they're all cropping up so soon after the SN hoax. I'm also curious what EA thinks about all these people intimately familiar with their company going around spilling secrets about their release schedule. They have the Bioware developers on such a tight leash about future content that it's hard to believe they'd let this go on for too long. You know what EA is thinking at this point? "You can't buy this kind of press." Honestly, why confirm or deny anything when the online press is giving you so much free coverage on a game that was released 4 months ago that it makes your marketing department look tame? The only thing EA has really made a statement about was that they had never worked with SN and that's probably because an investor probably asked, "who the hell is Sinclair?" I said that a while ago. Basically, as long as these people run anything about Andromeda, it puts the name out there. If they plan on making MEA2 and it gets great reviews, anyone who was put off by the crapshow MEA got might rethink playing it and go back to discover and game that is infinitely better for all the patching and with DLC too. That's the beauty of doing trilogies. You guarantee yourself to get sales from people who came in later and wanted to try the previous games. Doesn't even have to be a great game. How many people went back to play ME1 and ME2 because of ME3? I remember seeing many, many posts from people who did back in 2012. Meanwhile, all this press is keeping the name alive. I even speculated that BW is the one behind it at one point because it wouldn't matter if they said no DLC a billion times. Once the DLC is out, those articles are seen as false. All of this is free advertising. Easy as pie.

It bothers me as a journalist how easily people assume unnamed sources are just imaginary, and reporters just make stuff up. Even in gaming news, these are people with professional pride in finding the truth and providing it to the public. sighOnce (twice, three times, four?) again, people are not skeptical simply because the sources are anonymous. They're skeptical of how the anonymous sources are being used to 'prove' stories in a circular fashion and their convenient timing (i.e. responding just after the last source saying the exact same thing was revealed to be a hoax). If it bothers you as a journalist that such skepticism exists then perhaps that is a indictment of the state of media. Here in the UK where brexit is proving to be every bit the trainwreck the 'doomsayers'/'enemies of the people' predicted, the media doesn't have the best reputation.

So who wants to take a wild guess at what race the character on the cover will probably be? Yeah that's what I thought too. It was really odd that there's no cover for that one. Spoilers was my first thought. On Amazon we have Initiation dated for Nov 6th and they are calling Annihilation The Lost Ark there and it's coming out Dec 5th. Both are audiobooks it seems.

You don't anger gamers! Let's hope they have learnt from it because atm whilst MEA does have an ending it's not providing as much closuer as it needs so hopefully we'll get DLC that will do that.

Anonymous sources are one of the most honored traditions in journalism. Papers have spent millions in court defending their right to keep them secret because they are so valuable to the public. Yes, we know. It also makes them unverifiable. Nobody knows who's saying what and why. This is why many articles combine unnamed sources with other named sources and supporting facts. Again, it's not my job to blindly believe a journalist. It's the journalists job to sell a story.

People will put their heads in the sand no matter how many sources.
Whatever, I don't care enough to argue.
The game is already $20 on sale right now and was not a critical or commercial success.

BioWare's silence about this is incredibly irritating. I think it's doing them a disservice as all the stories claiming there's no DLC will be believed, then folks won't care when or if they do ever announce it. They need to say something now, whilst the momentum is still there, before the world stops caring. I bet there are so many ppl at BioWare who are super frustrated by all this, but blocked from doing anything about it because of the NDAs.

I'm just going to say there are very legal reasons that BioWare can't do that. It's all about conduct as a publicly traded company and all that blah, blah, blah. I hate it but that's the reality.

I doubt anyone will even hint or reply that they can't talk about it on Twitter, not until after the holidays. The timing of the hoax and trash articles was perfect since no one at BW will be active fully until July 5th. Canada Day became an extra long weekend. The government took Monday off too, and July 4th is tomorrow.
