Article: A requiem for Mass Effect: Andromeda

Looked at author. Immediately grew suspicious.

Got to the "then the hilarity came to an abrupt end: that segment of the game community which revenges itself upon anyone who is even perceived to have slighted them, developed a conspiracy about Andromeda’s animations and, of course, found a woman to blame" part, had a laugh, and closed the tab.

No thanks, I'm not gonna read anti-gamer propaganda.

That's the part I find scary in any fandom. It's not game related, it happens with sports as well as music. I can only assume that these people are stalkers at heart, people who are that immersed into something that they lose any grip on reality.

That's why I always keep stressing, when things get personal in a positive or negative way, that game companies and their employees aren't our buddies, who disappoint us on a personal level, but part of a multimillion business, earning their pay check. Criticize the game all you want, I'm doing my share too, but leave the persons out. Even if they're at the root of anyone's disppointment, they're not deserving of being threatened.

And still, they're stalkers. I mean noone would threaten the producers of their favorite brand of toilet paper if it suddenly turns out to be itchy. It's only over entertainment and sports that people get personal on a scary level. And that can swing both ways, actually. Positive as well as negative. I've read a lot of posts on here and on other gaming boards, where people talked about the developers as if they were their personal friends or enemies. In short, losing touch with reality.

Aside from the irritating habit of treating Jason as if he was a mouthpiece for Bioware, this is a pretty good article. I do think the devs were hard done by both their company and their fans - creating a game on this scale in 18 months is some serious work and yet we've got all of Reddit's retard brigade branding them the 'B-team'.

As for Katherine Cross - I have no idea who she is.

In case of their products, I can only say, tough. That they have to endure, even if they don't feel as if the criticism is justified. Everyone producing something has to endure criticism. The only line to be drawn is the personal level. The product is fair game.

Makes me wonder if we're reading the same board. Most of the criticisms are tied to story, companions and the lifeless worlds. Very rarely do I read a rant where the author doesn't nail down their points.

Considering her true point to this article is to push an agenda with the whole: "Women harassed on the internet" shtick, yes, there is reason to be suspicious if not outright mock the article.

Regardless of the ideology it comes from, anything that pushes an ideological bias should certainly be questioned. Accepting without question is a grave mistake.

Right, and that is sickening, but the "only women face internet harassment" shtick is the only point of mentioning that one indecent. It is bias pushing and deserves scrutiny.

It isn't "BioWare was harassed by unhinged dickwolves," (and wrongly so I may add) but "this woman was harassed by gamers," as if all gamers are from the same ilk of some assholes on Twitter.

you don't get it.  If you don't like a Mass Effect game, you are an unhinged lunatic and a threat to society.
