It's not going to be a 'dead' game with him in the house. I would not be surprised if his coming back was partly to help revitalize ME as well as to help keep Anthem on track. With him in his new role, he will have his hand in all the pies and be able to direct them best. I am right now dreaming of Drew karpyshyn getting to work on MEA2. |

So much so that they compared MEA to it and it failed the litmus test by most standards to many people. |

I just feel... bad. Happy to see Casey back, but I feel bad for Aaryn. Many will see this as proof of his "failure" and say Bioware canned him because of the lackluster reception of MEA. I never felt MEA deserved the hate it got, especially not personally directed at people who work at Bioware. And as GM Aaryn got a lot of flack thrown his way. I really appreciate what he tried to do. MEA didn't turn out quite as I expected, but I still enjoyed the heck out of it. His only problem I could tell is that his vision was maybe too grand for what the team and technology could accomplish. Sometimes pushing for that vision gets magic, sometimes ends less than one would like. But without people like Aaryn pushing games to their furthest potential, you just end up with a bunch of COD clones. I wish him all the best and hope his next adventure has less fans screaming monstrosities at him. |
