I'm not sure if I'd go for multiple exclamation marks level of awesome. But it was pretty enjoyable and I quite like it. Yay! For me, this. More of a pleased thumbs up, than a party with balloons, but yes, enjoyed myself (and not done yet). Like Dragon Age 2, I think its following will recover somewhat. Particularly if any of the characters are reused in the future, or if BioWare do eventually drop some awesome DLC as they did with DA2. this. I mean Andromeda is one of my favorite games of all time but given the last time a Bioware title flopped...and how spectacularly they corrected their mistakes in the follow up. Well I'm quite excited.

Thank goodness. I thought I was the only one that felt that way. The internet seems to have a hive mind that punishes anybody who has a differing opinion. Andromeda has many problems but it left me wanting more. It's flawed but has great potential and I love Ryder and the whole tempest crew. When it comes to the internet and different opinions, with some of the people you describe, which isn't everyone, I always imagine that scream from the movie Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

Let's all just admit it. Sure, it was rushed like hell but it really is a spectacular mass effect game. It has a future. yes. MOST who play it like it and that's a fact. Nice to see poisitive threads. SPread the word and convince your friends to play i too. Prove them how terrrible gaming community is. We literally deserve bad games with an expensive season pass as a whole.

Unfortunately this game was a victim of the Internet hate mob. It really is still a very good game despite it's flaws.

At launch, I was so disappointed. I could see a very good game that was released too early. Every 30 minutes, I had a very serious glitch, like textures (the whole ground!) disappear. The Krogan slap scene with only one Krogan being shown. The t-poses every time I set foot on the Nexus. The crummy dialogue portions of the game. Then patch 1.05. The game is playable, but it still has issues with the writing and getting sleepy running the side quests. Patch 1.09, EA is responsible for releasing a game that could've been Game of the Year (despite the issues I listed), but no... that's not how the industry works apparently. History is only going to remember the release date. Anyway, it's a very good game. It's as good as the trilogy, but better. I don't have to relive ME3's ending.

Unfortunately this game was a victim of the Internet hate mob. It really is still a very good game despite it's flaws. My pen and paper group who loves needling me about Andromeda recently shut up about it after patch 1.09. Now I'm getting, "EA should've waited. They messed up." I couldn't agree with them more.

But I didn't have too many glitches at launch, and still found it very enjoyable before patches. After patches, it's just gravy for me, but for the sake of it's image a delay could have helped.

Unfortunately this game was a victim of the Internet hate mob. It really is still a very good game despite it's flaws. Very true. I know it had/has some issues, but even much before launch people on the forums were freaking out. "Andromeda? Why not the Milky Way! The Tempest doesn't have weapons? Bioware sux! Bioware would be better off without all the gays! How do the ARKS even work? Lore breaking!". It was like every little news piece made a small, loud group of people more angry, mostly because they were still upset at endings of ME3 and had other issues that really no matter how good it could be they would always hate it.

Unfortunately this game was a victim of the Internet hate mob. It really is still a very good game despite it's flaws. Ya think?!? I was in west Texas for 14 months inspecting wells and pretty much out of the loop, except for local or national news whenever I came into stay at a scary Studio 6. Anyway, I get back home and ready to buy the Inquisition DLC that was released while I was gone. While I was looking for the forums (that were closed... bravo EA... sarcasm) to find some actual players that could comment on it I came across a story about DragonRacer. Then I came across YouTube and discovered Manveer Heir, some bullcrap SJW conspiracy, and boycotts against BioWare. I go to PAX South and there are people that are talking crap about BioWare very loudly and openly. I'm 45, so I acted my age, but damn... I wished I had recorded this crap so I can show how effective EA has been with BioWare. Or I should say, ineffective. That's my beef y'all. Image. BioWare's image was being a progressive art and writing studio that used computers for their canvas. Nothing in that ENTIRE YEAR (A WHOLE F***ING YEAR) did I read anything from EA or BioWare to change the tide. And Andromeda... a fiesta platter served hot and fresh for the haters and YouTube crowd. You can say f*** YouTube... it's dead... but the truth is: YouTube 15, EA/BioWare 0. I'm ranting. I know it. It's just that we're four months out, the developers have done an outstanding job and we're getting the usual NDA stuff. Ok, I'm out. Sorry for the salt. By the way, I eventually bought the DLC for Inquisition this past summer (it's summer... wtf am I saying.) and holy crap... it's great. I don't expect anything to be different with Andromeda. History is on my side.

It frankly deserved the mockery. Had a similar experience with a friend who's only seen the extended cut endings of ME3 and wasn't quite sure what all the fuzz was about. Again, very different to the launch experience. As to the OP's claim, I'm more in the "respectful nodding and a thumbs up" camp than the multiple exclaimation points awesome as well. It's a good game, but even with the technical fixes, it only makes its way to "good" in my book.

That's no excuse for releasing a broken product in the first place. It's a fix after the fact, but it punishes themselves by poor reviews and word of mouth, and it punishes the fans who buy early by getting an inferior product to those who get it on sale in six months. It's not a BioWare-exclusive problem, it's a damned disease of this industry. Just because we have bandages doesn't make it a good idea to stab a fork in your hand :-)

Well yeah, fixing after the fact is better than not fixing at all, no argument there. I just wish developers (or rather, publishers) would not rush out broken games and then rely on patching. See also: AC: Unity, Batman: Arkham Knight. Neither are bad games at the core, but they were released in a state that made them permanent jokes. I can't personally speak for the Batman game as I never got it, but Unity (much like andromeda) is actually a pretty good game these days. But that's not what people remember when they hear the name.

No gamer wants to spend time looking up for solutions (ESPECIALLY ON A F***ING CONSOLE! REALLY?!?) for game-breaking issues. I'm not talking about bugs, quest issues, animation problems, etc. I'm talking broken crap. Trying to play Andromeda at launch was like being part of a stress test that would never end. I was embarrassed for buying the broken thing for a friend and really embarrassed for BioWare. I normally reserve any comments about any title until I made a complete playthrough, but it was impossible. I gave up. I had to wait for patch 1.05 and man... that was the first sign that BioWare was actually serious about their art. I could still see the missed potential (that is already in the game, just not executed), but I was able to get through it on a speed run. I tried another OCD run, but again... the quest glitches, navmesh issues and some of the dialogue just triggered my freaking aggravation. Then 1.09. The Maker listened. Yeah, it's not perfect. It still needs DLC to make it whole, but damn it... EA has completely made me wary of pre-ordering ever again. It pissed me off that badly and thankfully, since EA is inept... some real, honest-to-goodness fans made these forums. They put on a better face than the friggin' mods of the official forums. This is pretty much the only refuge left that houses critics, fanboys, invested fans and you're occassional crackpot like me. Anyway... I agree. I concur. It's in the past now. We're four months removed from launch and hey... 90 hours on the PS4 is money well-spent in the end. I can't wait for the new rig to be built so I can post my stuff. I can't wait for the DLC. I need more.

Yeah, just like WB, Ubisoft and Gearbox. If is wasn't for the GECK (Bethesda and Obsidian), every Fallout title would be garbage. BioWare isn't so much fixing what is broken after 1.05. It's polishing and yeah... I know the polishing won't fix some of the dialogue or the plot holes, but it's still way better than most of the products I own that aren't BioWare. I own a lot. There is a reason why I only chime on these forums and no where else (except some comments on YouTube). It's because I see the passion and soul in the art.

There's no excuse for the state it was released in.

Thank goodness. I thought I was the only one that felt that way. The internet seems to have a hive mind that punishes anybody who has a differing opinion. Andromeda has many problems but it left me wanting more. It's flawed but has great potential and I love Ryder and the whole tempest crew. Don't worry No you'er not I like it a lot as well. I can see myself doing many playthroughs

The launch state was somewhat disappointing. It's unfortunate EA needed MEA's revenue Q4 '16, otherwise a delay until July or August would have done wonders. But I didn't have too many glitches at launch, and still found it very enjoyable before patches. After patches, it's just gravy for me, but for the sake of it's image a delay could have helped. When did patch 1.08 come out? Because there is your answer in my mind. June just before EA play I believe

There's no excuse for the state it was released in. no there wasn't really that was the one big mistake made with this game. It needed more polish time.

I didn't have too many glithces either and was to engrossed in the story to notice most of the animation problems as well. But, I could have waited for a summer release.
