[Videos] Billy Buskell denying issues about off-host headshots

Anybody can understand that. But when you replace the word 'person' in your sentence with 'customer', you're in a whole different ballpark. Not talking to angry customers might well mean they'll walk away, however right you may be as a company.

Among other things, Billy said "there goes the validity of most of what you're saying - you're speaking in terms that only Kotaku would use". I mean, is this guy for real? People reporting things like off-host head shots (or rather, the lack thereof) isn't about proving or disproving claims, it's about listening to your customers and trying to help them out. At least it should be.

Put in another way: What do you think would happen if the average EA Helpdesk peeps you talk to by mail and phone were to say stuff like this? Personally, I think they'd be out on their asses before the next working day...

What's left out of this is any events unrelated to you, like Billy getting slammed everywhere (yes including here) for everything he says. You approached him at a bad time and become the straw that broke the camel's back.

Another interesting factor, touched on by @jeremiah12lgeek (dammit why doesn't that @-mention ever work on his name), is that with the dispersal of conversation across multiple channels it is possible for people to be talking past each other and only reacting to a portion of the conversation.

In this example there was some background rumbling about off-host headshots on reddit / BSN (2 channels), then Bioware was verbally asked about on official Bioware Twitch stream (3rd channel) and also in the Twitch stream chat windows (4th), there were Tweets about it to various devs (5th+ channels depending on if you count this as one channel or multiple), bug reports on EA Answers HQ (6th), then Billy talked about the off-host headshot issue on his personal Twitch stream verbally (7th) and responded verbally to text chat (8th), and then we had reactions to Billy's comments that showed up here (9th), reddit (10th), and Twitter (11th).

Not to mention the terrible reddit thread-ing design makes it impossible to follow an entire conversation unless you are religious about checking every sub-paragraph.

So a dozen different channels just to discuss one issue.

Is it any wonder people are missing part of the conversation, coming in late, and then being confused?
