BioWare Montreal absorbed by EA Motive. Mass Effect IP returns to Edmonton

I'm not buying any of the arguments that Andromeda is done. The speculation can run with serious reasoning either way (with some more reasons to head the negative way and you would be totally justified.), but I still see the diamond. That's money. You can call it a Zircona, a commercial, or flawed... but it's a diamond and if you can ask me... a sparkly one with a few noticeable flaws. It's still a diamond.

Bioware ceased to be more than a logo when EA bought them out. It's just Generic RPG division now. they could have called it "Bob Smith Studios" and events would have unfolded up to now exactly the same way. Again, no real reason they couldn't. The worst thing that would happen is some gaming "journalists" would write some barely factual (if that) clickbait. People give Kotaku etc. to much credit.

EA doesn't really care about internet memes. Actually no one outside of a loud online minority cares about internet memes. Somehow Bioware's "brand" survived Dragon Age 2, the ME3 endings, the "SJWare" memes... they're still here making and selling games, and the fandom is still here claiming the latest Bioware game is the worst game they ever made and will bring about the death of their brand. Please.

Yesh just yesterday I saw another "news" article about how Bioware and ME is doomed and they were posting their inside source as Maneever.

So Manveer Heir is on twitter saying Bioware Montreal was racist and sexist. Who's got the popcorn bowl?


Yeah and whenever someone gets fired, he is strongly encouraged to send everybody an email announcing that he is supper happy to have spent such a fantastic time with such fine people but that he is extremely excited to move on in his career seeking new exciting challenges and everything is exciting and challenging and happy.

Everything coming from big tech companies is bullshit.

They said this in front of investors which you really can't lie to.

I thought still promoting it was one way they showed they can still get more out of the game. Plus, lying about returns on a given property in a statement to shareholders is illegal, at least in the USA. In other words, if ME:A didn't drive the profits for last quarter they are breaking the law by saying it did. Don't let rage over the game cloud your objectivity.

I don't think they lied about the game turning a profit.  I think they weren't happy with the profit they got from it, but they aren't really going to say "yeah the game sold well, so we're going to shut down the studio that worked on it" at their meetings now are they?
