It's clear, whether we like it or not, that Andromeda was not the success BioWare and EA were hoping for. It was concerning when BioWare Montreal was shut down months ago, but not entirely surprising that this game would not receive story DLC. www.masseffect.com/news/mass-effect-andromeda-update-from-the-studioWe aren't going to be getting another Mass Effect game for a very long time. With BioWare Edmonton in full production on Anthem and in pre-production on DA4, they simply do not have time to worry about Mass Effect. BioWare Austin, as always, is committed to the ongoing support for SWTOR. As there is no team for a Mass Effect project for the foreseeable future, the earliest we could see another game wouldn't be until after Anthem and DA4. Assuming Anthem does release fall of next year, I'm under the impression DA4 will likely release in fall of 2020. At that point there might be a chance of a new Mass Effect game, but what does everybody even want it to be? Would you like for Andromeda's story to be continued? Or would it be better to just reboot the franchise again? What are your thoughts and what do you believe is best for the future of Mass Effect? |

Only way forward is to remaster the trilogy on next-next-Gen consoles. So in like a decade, maybe. And Andromeda needs to be a one-off that's never mentioned again - too many negative connotations and memes associated with it.

Don't want a reboot because that just marketing to resell an old game I've already played. There is still so much potential for the story of Andromeda. Anything less than Andromeda 2 would make me no longer support Bioware or EA. At this point, until I know the future. I will not be buying Anthem or any new games from Bioware

Give it time off. Wait till Anthem and DA4 are out BEFORE even starting pre production. That should give them a few years to think on the value of even continuing it, can they get a dedicated studio to it? Will the player base have calmed down since? I mean, you have people who are pussed it's not a continuation of the OT, some that just never liked Andromeda itself, and now others who aren't happy that Bioware has canned DLC for Andromeda, let the storm pass for now, but even then there will still be people upset 5 years later.
"If" they continue so soon id do a reboot. Either can Andromeda or go so far into the future where the colonies have grown but just forget Ryder's decisions or at least keep it to a minimum. Start new, start fresh again and see where it goes from there. If even a reboot can't work then perhaps it's time to retire the franchise.

Way things have gone I wouldn't mind seeing them just making a "canon" ending to the trilogy and setting it back in the Milky Way.
Andromeda was a good test but it failed in the long run.

I would wait to see the Anthem setting/release before I would start asking for ME title. Overall, not sure what BioWare would or should do, but for me personally Jade Empire Revival would be more desirable than ME atm. Anthem is going to be sci-if, so that should give me the sci-if fix. It's DA I want to be other replaced or paralleled tbh.

We've only explored one star-cluster in Andromeda, haven't we?
I want to explore the rest of Andromeda, encounter new aliens & civilizations. I want to see the Andromeda equivalent of the Citadel (if there is one, the Nexus is the Heleus-Cluster equivalent), encounter pre-spaceflight aliens as well as several aliens who've already made first-contact with each other. I want to find the Jardaan and witness the emotional reunion between the creators (the Jaradan) & the created (the Angara), as well as meet the aliens who deployed the Scourge against them. I also want to see a place similiar to Khi Tasira, except more lively with both Remnant & Jardaan.
You have a whole new galaxy to expand upon, Bioware. That is already your reboot.

If I were in BioWare shoes, I'd give it time. Then work on a first contact war game (during or after), with choices affecting mostly the characters/personal choices, a self contained game, with a side MP game as is their default now. They won't be tied by BIG GALAXY AFFECTING WOAH choices or the shadow of a messiah protagonist, it could generate curiosity and healthy nostalgia.

Reboot. As a fan of the original two games, I still find it utterly deplorable that BioWare would cut off their own franchise's limbs by ensuring any kind of continuation in the Milky Way Galaxy would be all but impossible. The world building was top notch, the aliens were unique and discovering how vast the galaxy that we live in is compared to what we thought we knew was impressive. For this Mass Effect fan, there was MUCH left to explore and discover in the good ol' Milky Way Galaxy even if I did include ME3 in that line up.
There is nothing in Andromeda worthy of note.
