I'd give it 5 years minimum. Probably longer.

You'd be surprised how fast 2025 rolls in. When you grow older, the years just slip by. Overall though, focusing on new ip is wise atm, I think. For everyone.

I'd give it 5 years minimum. Probably longer. The Mass Effect franchise is dead. There will not be another sequel or any AAA ME game. I'll buy you the super deluxe extra large venti edition if I am wrong. Trust me on this one.

Right. In 2025, after they see that Anthem has been a complete and utter failure amongst gamers despite it being commercially successful. We might see a ME game by then. On a different engine than FB3, 'cause BioWare has shown us that they suck at optimizing that engine for both console and PC gamers. "But that's subjective!" omg, you're so right. I cannot tell you how right you are with that statement. Yes, anytime someone asks for MET to be remastered in Frostbite, I honestly think they're insane. But I don't say that because I'm nice. If they decided to streamline the entire trilogy so that we could fight the same way across all three games, I'd be okay with that. (Vanguard in ME1 is so different from ME2/ME3, it's hard to see them as the same class. That's just an example.) At least, so long as they way the fight is similar to ME2 or ME3. Still want omni-gel in ME1, though.

I don't consider Andromeda being dead. Just on ice for the time being. It's going to take some time and more things to happen to convince me that it is. Anything can happen. I'm going to have some hope, but I won't keep it that high.

For me there is no point in even making MEA2. Bioware needed to tie some of he loose ends with a nice dlc or two. They needed to acknowledge those of us who actually liked the game and wanted more. They chose not to do that for whatever reason.... so that's it for me. Honestly, I feel totally played.

I am happy if that option works for some, but not for me.

The books and comics do more than "tie-in", they mesh now, to the point one might miss important info even if the "main" game is played. This stuff set a bad precedent already.

I feel as if it hasn't been exaggerated. There are a lot of reasons to suspect that ME is on it's way to being finished. Mass Effect 3 had an ending debacle that was a terrible PR disaster, and after 5 years they released a game that had both an animation PR disaster followed by an uproar by a minority community, leading to a whole department being closed down and folded into another part of EA, and is then the first Bioware game in a decade to not receive any DLC despite massive set ups for DLC in the game. ME is dead, they'll release the novel and comics because they're written as they know it'll generate a bit more revenue, and the MP will continue until the content they've already completed is added to the game, and then that'll be it.
Anthem will replace Mass Effect.

I would've quite happily seen it receive yearly expansions to gradually open up Andromeda. "Offline MMO" was something Inquisition was accused of being as well, but it was chock full of NPC's/companions that my PC could interact with and none of those pesky IRL people with their insufferable improv. It's my hope that Anthem at least makes the most of whatever story they put in there alongside its looter shooter thing, but being a multiplayer game, I can't really hope for much more than that.

I think single player RPGs in the cinematic ME style don't make financial sense for EA.

Today it was announced that Andromeda would not be getting DLC. That's all that was announced. This was not an announcement that there would not be a sequel. This was not an announcement that the franchise is dead. I know a lot of people are disappointed and worried, and need to work it out of their systems, but keep in mind what we were actually told. Maybe it's true that there won't be any more Mass Effect games. On the other hand, maybe there will be more and some of the planned DLCs for this game will be worked into the main plot of the next one. Bioware has done that before. The point is, WE. DON'T. KNOW. We know that Andromeda will not get DLC. Nothing more, and nothing less. Actually we do know, both Casey Hudson and Mike Gamble have tweeted that Mass Effect will continue. Creative positions within bioware can want to continue mass effect all they want, but ultimately that doesn't matter. It's the suits at EA that greenlights games, not those people you quoted tweets off.

It's the suits at EA that greenlights games, not those people you quoted tweets off. These aren't just the creative types. Casey is the GM for Bioware. The EA suits definitely have him in the loop - he is a "suit". Plus, these statements are congruous with the EA statements to their investors that they're happy with how Bioware is handling Mass Effect now and that Mass Effect has a future.
