It rather depends on what EA/Bioware take away from this debacle. If they assume that there is no longer any interest in Mass Effect and can the franchise I will be mortified, however if they assume that the direction they took with Andromeda didn't resonate with a large percentage of the series fans and decide to have another poke with a fresh story in the more serious gritty style of TOT then I will be ecstatic. But given EA's track record... I'm not hopeful. Look at what they did to Sim City, dumbed it down, reduced the city sizes and spruced up the slickness and graphics... cos who wants to spend hours fiddling with traffic management and micromanaging zoning regulations? IDK perhaps people who like f%$&^&g city management games Learn from mistakes? Repair reputation? Return to roots? Nah not EA, bin franchise, NEXT!

No not really... I mean we could see this comming from a mile away. Giving their flagship franchise to a B-team should've made everyone suspicious from the jump (zero ). Then there are the oodles of bugs that probably still exist at the time of this post. There were all kinds of complaints about the story and Ryder not having a backbone. Then we hear about this alleged falling out in the studio and a wasted year trying to make Mass Effect into No Man's Sky, which was a terrible game. It almost sounded like they wanted to take the Mass Effect franchise and make it into something completely different. This situation isn't surprising in the least and it was only a matter of time until something like this went down anyway The story has been getting more and more watered down since Mass Effect 2 despite the whole suicide mission thing and it's not hard to believe that something like this would happen. They need to get back to their roots and make this game into the space opera sci-fi game that they want it to be and leave the dude bro fantasy hour to the folks that don't make WRPGS.

I was, but I am fine now. In 2018, two slightly older games are likely to come on sale, two games I want will be released, and I've just picked another on sale. That's on top of me only having run each of the games in ME and DA franchise twice or once. I also can't tear myself from MP, even though I know it's about to lose support. 2018 has more new and old games than I have time for, and that's crazy. In fact, I am again facing the problem of gaming too much.... Since you and I apparently share a few favorite games judging from you posts what games are you looking forward to? Hoping that perhaps it will be something I might be interested in as well Dragon Age 2 is my favorite Dragon Age game, was really hoping that we would get some really good dlc for Andromeda but at least I will always be able to play the game as it is now. I had a great time in ME:A so I know I will replay it many times.

Yeah, Skylines came out a few years later it was CitiesXL that set the mark that SimCity had to beat.. it fell far short and like Andromeda it was plagued with problems at launch and had its support cut too soon in its life cycle.

It's intriguing, but it's an FPS, and I don't want another FPS again after it. i want to try Assassin Creed finally, after it is fixed and patched. I steered clear before because of fixed protagonist, but I like the setting and how Bayek looks save for his too short hair. tyranny is Obsidian's isometric game, that sounds similar to ME2 in its structure of diverging descisions. It is set in Bronze Age, so interesting setting & have all the trappings of party and interactions save for romance. Waiting for DLC, patch and sale on it, because isometric is not 3D. i want to give Spiders studio a shot, and play Technomancer (Mars colony, future setting) once it comes on sale due to issues folks noted & will pick up their Greedfall later in the year if they release in 2018. There is a discussion in Other Games, what games you are looking forwRd to section where I got tipped on Spider. Spiders sounds like early BioWare, and it does 3D, and unusual settings, so I want to see their products.

I'm a little sad that the future of the series may now be in doubt, because it's going to be hard to put out something else after you abandoned the previous game.
However, it may have been just as bad for not only ME, but also DA and Anthem had EA/Bioware gotten away with putting out a game in this condition and not suffered any repercussions. They've already pushed back the release of Anthem, and I'm sure we won't see this kind of thing with DA either.

I always put it that way: If there's only the option of getting something mediocre or nothing at all, maybe it's a good thing it comes to an end.

But i don't mind flawed when it has the heart, like DA2 or BG1 or Jade. That's what I hope to find in Spiders.

Nah, not depressed. A little pissed off because I feel as though MEA was made begrudingly. BW/EA is only concerned with Anthem. Handed MEA off to an inexperienced support studio; took all the more experienced devs over to Anthem because Anthem is like their wet dream. Their potential microtransaction fap fest. So, the ME series was thrown on a slab, it's throat slit and sacrificed to Anthem. That's why they tried to torch the franchise, and did torch the MW galaxy, in the first place. And it's not even about the dlc precisely. For me, it's more about how I perceive the ME franchise to have been disrespected. A successful SP franchise with some entertaining and profitable MP. But no, that's not good enough. They have to go all out in pursuit of some friggin' microtransaction rng gambling mechanic, because hey, you get them "emotionally engaged, then sell them the bullets" - J.R. It doesn't matter who is in charge over there at EA. They've been doing the same thing for years. Taking good SP devs and trying whore them out. Then when they can't turn tricks good enough, they start crying about where's my money and throw them out on the side of the road. Their focus is not on craftsmanship. It's not art. Their ideal situation is to have a bunch of mass processed consumers. Strapped down on their backs in tiny stall like a fat cow so they can feed on them at their leisure. They've got more business grads than artists trying to justify their existence so they can pay off those damn student loans. Their focus is not craftsmanship, or artistic integrity. It's about how many ways can we get the most money out of you. That predatory quote from J.R., their former CEO, speaks to not just J.R., but to the Corp. mindset there at EA. MEA would have to have done TW3 levels of commercial success because there has been a Sword of Damocles hanging over the head of the franchise since ME3. I have no interest in Anthem now. I can't even look at it. I know that's melodramatic, but it's how I feel. But for your sake, BW, I hope Anthem succeeds, or you're going to be ducking and rolling across that hard pavement next -- just like all the others before you. I'm holding out hope for DA4, but if they eff that up, that's it. I'm done. I'm already done with Xbox, even before Gamescom, because it's increasingly obvious that their whole vision now is to relentlessly push MP/Coop. Along with pushing the hell out of EA products, at least on my system, and I don't play any EA games except BW. I was a huge Xbox fangirl and willing to brush aside issues with the Xbox one because the 360 was a friggin' War Horse. However, if their course is working to distinguish themselves from PS by focusing on MP, then I'm done with them. I dabble in MP, and find it enjoyable, but I'm not spending my money on MP centric games. I'm not that player. I am not converting. I know BW/EA want to lure me in by adding a bit of story to their MP centric games like a creeper with some candy, but no thank you. It's like you're offering me peppermints and candy corn when what I want are chocolate bars. So, yeah I'm off to PlayStation land. I've got some catching up to do on good SP games. Never played the Uncharted series, or Last of Us, or HZD. I know, I know. Sigh, I wish some other publisher had bought out Bioware. /rant

Lol, Alan. PC master race never miss an opportunity. Honestly, I just prefer the feel of a console, sitting back from the screen a bit. And I do alot of work on my PC, so it's kind of a mind game. When it comes time to unwind and play, I don't even want to look at a PC. That's all there really is to the preference. I know I could set up the PC to view on my tv screen giving that out of PC feel, but..eh. ...I hope I'm not disappointed with Playstation. I mean, it's what I started with, then switched. So, it's like I'm coming home...I guess.

The first time I played ME3, I had not played The Arrival DLC, and had no idea why Shepard was in custody and decommissioned at the beginning of the game. It's not canon. If you never played Arrival and didn't load a save from someone who played it, you get a different line from Anderson, (The shit you pulled) instead of the Batarian line. Yes it is. It's in the game, it happened.

It's in the game, it happened. My understanding about Arrival and LOTSB is that they happened even if you didn't play them. I think with Arrival it was a squad of Alliance Marines that slammed the asteroid into the relay and in LOTSB Liara still became the shadow broker though I am not sure on the details.

I am . Not in the serious depression but you get the idea. i am really really bumped because no mass effect, With Inquisition i got closure, i got 3 packs of awesome DLC which offered me replay value , closure and many hours added to the main game. I am at peace with inquisition as i played for more 850 hours and this part is done. i may replay it sometime but i have only good memories with it. With Andromeda it is a different situation however. it it really sad. After 5 f%^$ing months the game is dead. literraly dead!!!! A mass effect which i waited since 2013(i count me3 dlcs also), a new adventure whcih i waited for 4 years patiently ... is dead in the water. Hell even Hello games have not abdandoned their game after so much shit! i cannot get what i got with inquisition, meaning i cannot be at peace. I really loved andromeda , finished it in 200 hours in 8 of august and i was really looking forwad to future dlc in order to find the BEST excuse to return. the best excuse to shut the mouths of haters. But sigh... now all i ahve ais a vague memory of what might have been. I will replay the game but it is not the same without longing for extra content. If bioware cannot love their child how and why should i? I bought my PsVr lately and i really love it to the point i have almost zero interest in other games. it has so much potential and everyhting in Vr automatically is better. Except for bioware titles. I really ahve the same exact feeling of loneliness whe i first experienced the original me3 ending. i feel like shit. Yeah, I feel pretty much the same, io. It's disheartening to watch a favorite game get abandoned when you were hoping for more. Still, I've got the game and I'll play that game and have fun with what I have.

I was severely bummed out when I realized I didn't enjoy playing MEA. I can't say I care too too much about not getting DLC since I had to force myself to finish the game. But that bums me out because I don't care about the newest installment in what was my favorite franchise.

Meh. It kinda sucks that I won't be able to have any new adventures with Vetra or Drack, but I wasn't a big fan of Andromeda to begin with so I don't really have any strong feelings on the subject.

I'm bummed that it's been abandoned by Bioware and EA but it's not dropped by me. I've just started a new play of MEA, we picked up the remaster of Crash Bandicoot for our PS4 today and I'm half way through a play of TW3. I'm a gamer so I'm gonna game! ...and also wait for the novels cause much excite. I decided to go back and play Halo Reach. I'm also doing the Ringed City for DaS3.
