I was definitely in a funk all day Sunday and didn't feel like doing much of anything other than browse these forums.
I'm a little better now, though. Just went back to ESO and will eventually do Horizon Zero Dawn. College football also starts this weekend, so my Saturdays will now be occupied with fun things to watch instead of just game or dwell on gaming news.
I deleted the MP Strike Team app off my phone, so that felt kinda nice to just say, "Screw you, too."
And now I'm just waiting to eventually hear more about DA4 because that's my last hope, really. Destiny was fun at first, but I quickly disengaged from it/got bored, so I'm not entirely sure if Anthem will be on my radar fully or not.

MEA is my first Mass Effect game so I am a pretty letdown that my journey ended before it could truly begin.
Even though I never played the original trilogy, I heard about Shepard and the wild ride that lasted nearly 5 years. What attracted me to MEA was the overall premise: a new beginning for everyone, characters and players alike, as they trekked the unknown. A new voyage that could last another 5 years. I hoped against all odds that we would get to see Ryder mature, feel our relationships evolve, watch as the outposts expand into cities, and much more. Looks like I'll just have to leave the rest to imagination.

I am . Not in the serious depression but you get the idea. i am really really bumped because no mass effect, With Inquisition i got closure, i got 3 packs of awesome DLC which offered me replay value , closure and many hours added to the main game. I am at peace with inquisition as i played for more 850 hours and this part is done. i may replay it sometime but i have only good memories with it. With Andromeda it is a different situation however. it it really sad. After 5 f%^$ing months the game is dead. literraly dead!!!! A mass effect which i waited since 2013(i count me3 dlcs also), a new adventure whcih i waited for 4 years patiently ... is dead in the water. Hell even Hello games have not abdandoned their game after so much shit! i cannot get what i got with inquisition, meaning i cannot be at peace. I really loved andromeda , finished it in 200 hours in 8 of august and i was really looking forwad to future dlc in order to find the BEST excuse to return. the best excuse to shut the mouths of haters. But sigh... now all i ahve ais a vague memory of what might have been. I will replay the game but it is not the same without longing for extra content. If bioware cannot love their child how and why should i? I bought my PsVr lately and i really love it to the point i have almost zero interest in other games. it has so much potential and everyhting in Vr automatically is better. Except for bioware titles. I really ahve the same exact feeling of loneliness whe i first experienced the original me3 ending. i feel like shit. Yeah, I feel pretty much the same, io. It's disheartening to watch a favorite game get abandoned when you were hoping for more. Still, I've got the game and I'll play that game and have fun with what I have. I am reminded of a song by the Rolling Stones, I think you know the one I am referencing. And it is the case too. I remember back in the dark days of Console and PC gaming where titles got abandoned and left riddled with bugs and inaccuracies all the time. A lot of games from the late 80's to early 90's were notorious for this. We have become somewhat spoiled now, in a sense. Expecting DLC or expansion passes, constant updates and in-game support and patches. Valve's gaming as a service model has revolutionized the industry...by transforming us into addicts looking for our next hit to keep us going. In a way, we are lucky, you know, for all of that. In the rare instances where a game gets no support though it is a reminder of how we have grown accustomed to more and more content, bigger and better games...games. In another though, it has made us a bit more bitter and cynical. We find the prospect of something we cherished being abandoned just that, after all. Perhaps this was the wake up call we needed, versus the outcome we wanted, to reference a certain song again... Don't despair though. There will always be another game to fall in love with, be it BioWare or no. I, for one, am still intrigued by Anthem, and Dragon Age 4 we know is on steady ground. Our love for games can extend beyond just them though, or other games of it's caliber too. That is what being a fan of video games is about, after all.

I had started playing Skyrim which I never played before so my head wasn't on MEA when the announcement came out. I am disappointed because I loved the Angara, and I want all those loose ends tied up - but I don't think I'll be buying comics and books to get that fix. I'll just move on. I do feel that BW is moving towards the MP route and that makes me fear for Dragon Age as a franchise. I'm sure we will get SP for the next game - but with a greater focus on the MP content than they provided in DAI. And it will only get worse from there. I am not really interested in Anthem. I was trying to be fair to it because we know so little but I know that I'm not a MP player. It's not my cup o tea. So if that's the route BW wants to cultivate, they will leave me behind. I will, like others, dive into other games and enjoy those and find new things to like so I'm not devastated by the news. I want to try Hellblade, and HZD. And delve into games I've not tried before like Skyrim. So... it's sad that my Angara will be left behind.

In this case wanting more is simply wanting more of the story. It's not a matter of, I hate to use this word but it fits, entitlement, but one of wanting more of the story, the world(s) and characters. I don't have a problem with that. A good story, like a good book, should leave you with that feeling and, for me, ME:A did exactly that and plus some. Anthem, well, not my speed though I'll keep an eye on it, but DA4 I'll look forward to as I would any DA game. The amount of video games that surprised me by being as good as I wanted is something I can count on both hands and still have some fingers left over. The last time I was pleasantly surprised was Nier: Automata and the number of games that peak my interest are few, which is why this outcome is disheartening.

Looks like I'll just have to leave the rest to imagination. "When your back is against the wall, use it." -daddy Ryder "This isn't about the finish line, but the starting line. Where you go from here is up to you." -grand papa Draco The trilogy is always there if you want to see more Mass Effect and getting to play it for the first time with all the dlc would be a pretty great! Mass Effect is my favorite series so I am moping big time. For me Andromeda was an amazing experience, sure it had a few flaws but I hoped that story-dlc would round it out just like it did for Dragon Age 2. Don't know where I stand with BioWare anymore. I played SWTOR for years but left it when there is no focus on the original companions for each class because that is what I enjoyed. Anthem is a multiplayer-thing and that doesn't suit me. I want action and story with companions that you care for. Being able to play as a female character. Romance because that makes me happyMass Effect - they dropped it SWTOR - Don't enjoy playing the new "one story to rule them all". Anthem - Not interested in more multiplayer. I want to play my own thing with my own companions and then talk on the forum. Dragon Age - You are my only hope However no matter how sad I am about the news and what it means for me in terms of being interested in future games from BioWare, at least I have all my games at home. Between ME 1-3 and ME:A and all the Dragon Age games I can spend many happy days. Throw in a little bit Sims 4 on the side and I will be good. If there are fun people to talk to here on the forum I will just stay here and share the fun with them. So yes it sucks, but I still have all the games at home and can continue playing them. Have done so many replays of the trilogy that it is like coming back to a favorite book. It just makes me happy. So, no matter how let down I feel from knowing that they don't have any interest in Andromeda, I still have the game to play. Will certainly miss not having new shiny things to look forward to but hopefully someone will notice the void and put forth a new game. Edit: clarity

Nier is next on my list after I finish HZD, which is amazingggg. i really liked HZD, was taking my time to walk in it's world but andromeda felt way more alive to me, the dialogue was more natural etc. Still for their first rpg game guerilla games nailed it! Ashley byrch as Aloy did a fantastic job. would love to see her in a bioware game. she said in an interview in ign shw would love to voice work for mass effect someday.

Sure but what if MeA2 does happen and we only take quarians ark resolved from the books while the story continues? We don't get anything resolved in the books. There's zero interest on my part buying their merchandise. That's no resolve at all, since I bought a game for full price and expected it to be complete. And I'm not talking about the Quarians but about Garsson and Benefactor. They Quarians weren't an unresolved quest, after all. They were an epilogue.

In any case, I can live with something like the Quarians, since there was no quest tied to them. I can't excuse something like Garsson or Benefactor, since both were quests that ended in to be continued - maybe ... somewhere ... sometimes.

MEA is my first Mass Effect game so I am a pretty letdown that my journey ended before it could truly begin. Play the OT. You won't regret it. Play Mass Effect 1 -- if you can stand the realllllllly outdated gameplay you get a good story. Then stop and think up your own cool future adventures of Shepard. ME2 and ME3 are basically fanfiction written by someone who loves grimdark edginess and hates space opera optimism.

I dunno if driving a Mako after Nomad is even possible without having a seizure. Lol. I actually liked the Mako. It wasn't meant to be driven so much as aimed at something. It was good, wholesome, physics-defying fun. And it had a gun. But yes, dawnold , play ME1!

Yeah I'm bummed out about it, since I was really hoping for DLC to tie up some of the hanging plot threads. Especially since I don't think a sequel is likely at this point.
I'm glad the novels/comics are still happening at least. But the next ME title, even if it happens someday, is a long way off, and likely won't feature Ryder as the protagonist... So I'm sad Ryder's story feels unfinished and we will never get closure for some of those personal plot threads involving the Ryder family, mother, etc.
I don't know what direction Bioware plans to go next, for DA4, but I hope they learn from this and plan to make their stories more self contained next time.
I know everything is all about franchises and sequel hooks these days, and splitting films into multiple parts, shared universes, tie ins, etc...I'm getting a bit burned out from it all, to be honest. Waiting for DLC that never happens, to finish a story, just stinks.

In this case wanting more is simply wanting more of the story. It's not a matter of, I hate to use this word but it fits, entitlement, but one of wanting more of the story, the world(s) and characters. For starters I would have settled with a complete story. Not one that is riddled with lose threads like a torn shirt. It's always nice to have, yeah. I would have paid, and gladly, for a DLC or expansion that filled in those plot holes.

So much this^ For me, the surprise was HZD. Loved it. I have been on the fence about trying Nier: Automata. I've heard good things about HZD. Hopefully they'll port it to PC someday. Nier: Automata can be a tough row to hoe, honestly. The narrative is subtle in bringing all the threads together, but the story...damn. Worth it.

The way they tied in the story with multiple endings was just amazing. That was one of those games for me that after you beat it its like...WTF do I do know?
