No matter how good you make it, them pulling support from the greatest sci-fi series, arguably ever... to focus on their micro-transaction baby Anthem, shows it's not about making great games, or telling good stories, it's just about the bottom line.
That's fine, I understand they are a publicly traded company, but it hurts our gaming experience in your games as a whole. Therefore no matter how good Anthem is, I will not support it or even DA4, I'll miss out on some great experiences, but It's not worth the gamble when EA shows how fast they'll force you to ditch something, The moment Anthem stops raking in the cash you'll pull the plug, if DA4 doesn't meet expectations you'll pull the plug. No matter how good they are initially that's not a world I will support.
End

I think it has always been about the bottom line... (and was that really a 'mic drop' or did you want us to discuss it?)

I think it has always been about the bottom line... (and was that really a 'mic drop' or did you want us to discuss it?) Footage of EA dropping ME and walking away from it. The cord dangles... implications... unpleasant. Anyways, I'll offer EA my loot money but the most common drop is about 3 fiddy.

Woah greatest Sci fi series ever?! I mean Mass effect is a good game serise but I wouldn't call it a great sci fi. Also OP keep an open mind and if the game is good and you think you'll enjoy it why not? I believe people should be rewarded for their work not be punished for the failures of others.

-(_ANTHEM_)-
Many are awed by the Anthem graphics in Anthem. Funny enough, I just yawned. I blame Bio for my reaction. First there was DA:I ... that famous " a PC game for PC gamers by PC gamers". Then it was followed by ME:A ... wonky animation, unbalance weapons, poor ACT 1 and bugs galore.
Between now and late 2018, other games will have my interests.

The flight mechanics and the large environment were impressive. Almost everything else was generic. The "banter" between the players was lame. I hope it brings a superb story and good gunplay otherwise my looter shooter destiny is elsewhere.

haven't played halo but to me mass effect has always been pulp sci fi with a cast of rule of cool characters. i mean, i love it, but the way some people elevate the OT to citizen kane levels of video game writing has always been a bit ridiculous to me
ah well, in a world where game of thrones' season 5 finale can win an emmy for its writing i guess this shouldn't surprise me

I love Mass Effect, but calling it "the greatest sci-fi series" is a little over-dramatic. It's not even officially ten years old yet... It's certainly one of my favorite franchises without a doubt.
As far as not investing in future EA-published games, that's your prerogative. I'm personally not going to stop buying BioWare games just because of how Andromeda was handled. I'm looking forward to Anthem and Dragon Age 4, so I'm more than happy to buy both of them.
All that you will accomplish is limiting your selection of great games. EA's priority was always the bottom line, so nothing will change with your behavior.

It's basically X+5 and then X+ 10, where X is year of release.... X+15 to be forgotten by all but those claiming to be the real Bio fans.

Same for Wind Waker, Halo 2, Oblivion, some Metal Gear entries, etc. Time tends smooth out people's memories and the valleys are harder to see than the peaks. Smoldering canyons are always visible, though.

I don't know or care if it's fair or not but then again the whole concept of "fair" seems to be an out dated concept now of days.

NWN 1 was the best video game ever made. I say this 100% seriously. The included SP part? meh The toolset allowed for hundreds if not thousands of excellent user made modules. It also allowed for terrific mutil player large worlds like Rhun and Nordock and many more. The ability to have a live dungeon master in game. Hours of really good user made modules some of them brilliant. Hours of really good mp play in large worlds Hours of DM related quests that could change dynamically. Best .... game....ever. No joke.

Yes, I am aware people liked that part, but the graphics no matter how content was generated was beyond terrible. NWN2 had better everything, but modding it was way harder as a result. By the time you'd finish the mod, nobody would be there to play it.... Overall, yes, NWN time was the hopeful time for modding and co-creation, but it fizzled out.

I had NWN2, but never actually played it. I just used it to create (admittedly, very cool) battlemaps for my virtual tabletop games... I have played the NWN2 OC (and liked it), released modded content for it (and that was the first time I was actually harassed on the net) and almost pulled together a small stand-alone module that told a story from the Bhaal's Cult perspective on sacrificing the Children of Baahl and finding the protagonist of the BG1/2 by Gorion, but just burned out making it. Scripting was never my strong suit, and it was taking too long for people to still be there by the time I was done with it. After the whole harassment thinggie, I did not want anything to do with modding. It's not worth it.
