A return to the original trilogy. Or a reboot. If Andromeda or Ryder and company are returning i'm out.

A sequel to MEA with Ryder. The character and setting both deserve a second chance.

Yeah, I'd say bring back Ryder and the Tempest crew but in a shorter game, more akin to the style of the Shepard trilogy. Open worlds in Mass Effect are better in small doses - if we had the world design of ME:A combined with the volume of content of ME1's planetary exploration, that would be ideal. I don't mind having a more loosely structured plot as ME:A did. If anything, it cuts down on the dissonance between the OMG WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE! tone of many video games and the fact that you can usually take your time in completing a mission without any consequences. But *too* loose a structure and you lose the sense of narrative momentum, and the planetary side missions got repetitive after a while. In fact, you probably could have made a good 40-50 hour game out of Andromeda by keeping the main quest and all the other scripted side missions, while reducing the amount of time spent driving around and fighting cookie-cutter battles with Kett, Outlaws, and Remnants.

BTW, Captain Dunn was the only major character to die in my ending. Are all the squadmates and the on-board Tempest crew guaranteed to survive no matter what happens, or can some of them die depending on previous decisions?

I'm pretty sure squadmates all live. The ME3 devs got too badly burned by ME2 to want to go there again.

A return to the original trilogy. Or a reboot. If Andromeda or Ryder and company are returning i'm out. More bad ideas. I'm sorry but for all of ME:A's faults the alternatives most of the vocal critics come up with are even worse than the bad script that was used in ME:A

I'm pretty sure squadmates all live. The ME3 devs got too badly burned by ME2 to want to go there again. That only matters if they plan to bring back any characters. Frankly I think there's too much of that. With untold billions of people in the galaxy, why do we have to keep meeting the same twenty or thirty people?

True, but if you don't know what your sequel plans are, you don't want to maybe make trouble for yourself.

A prequel to the original Shepard trilogy but not as Shepard or the Normandy crew. It must be a familiar plot from a different POV, what it's like to experience the galaxy from the eyes of an Alliance soldier, or a Cerberus agent or a pirate/smuggler. Like a true RPG, it should get really dramatic and political since you get to play as different character who has different beliefs and morals. A bunch of close encounters and cutscenes with the Normandy crew would be a great addition to this game.

I actually thought it made more sense in ME:A's world that you could take your time because basically you had very few clues on how to proceed, you just had to explore and try everything possible to see if you would find out more about the main plot. But of course in terms of as a game experience it could have benefited from less side content.

Can't believe I'm saying this but I'm not sure if I even want another Mass Effect game in the nearby future. Anyway, if I have to choose, I would like to see a game set in the Miljy Way, not Andromeda. MEA had completely failed to captivate my interest and I therefore couldn't really care less how it ends. This is, of course purely personal. I understand that other people want answers and thus a sequel to MEA, but my interest in such a game is simply too low to buy it.

I would like a smaller, more contained game. I want a womance co-op shooter with Jack and Miranda as they go through different locations; Citadel, Noveria, Omega and especially Ilium. Something like Army of Two, Kane & Lynch, without the edge and the Star Trek co-op movie tie in game with Spock and Kirk. Some cameos here and there, that make sense, like Zaeed, Kasumi, Samara, Garrus appearing here and there for brief sections, no Shepard cameo, just a reference if you romanced either of the two, at best. Can switch between the two at will, Jack being more prominently Biotic and shorter range, while Miranda being more medium/long range. Lots of banter, some instances of bonding etc. Think a female version of Tango & Cash. In Mass Effect. I would buy that. You would buy that.

Andromeda 2 done like Mass Effect 2. Return to Ryder and his/her crew, but make it more about character development. Also, don't fuck around trying to No Man's Sky it. Build a solid foundation and don't flounder about with unrealistic ideas.
Honestly, all I want at this point is more Mass Effect regardless.
Let's see if BioWare can survive Anthem...

I meant more in the style of ME2 with the focus on character development and interpersonal relations. Not so much ME2's retarded "Shep-dies-and-is-resurrected" trope or a complete overhaul of the crew. (Besides, the only two characters that mattered were part of ME2's squad anyway. )

My Shepard was glad to work with Cerberus. Better than the circus calling itself Alliance. They make no effort to confirm Shepard's death. They make no effort to find a way to stop the reapers. **** them. The old crew took a class at the circle of magi in shapeshifting. When they graduated, they shapeshifted into c**kroaches scattering all over the galaxy. The only one who thought Shepard was a traitor was A/K. Too bad there wasn't a renegade interrupt to hit them over the head. Just saying

A sequel to Andromeda with a Turian protagonist for a change but I'm ok with Ryder if his more hardened.

In light of Heer's rambling, seems that ME: Contact would be most likely option. Andromeda has way too much stiffburn associated with it.
Would be interesting, if it took place over longer period of time, show humanity go through shock of discovering Mars Prothean archives, develop technology, find relays, etc. Sort of Star Trek with Archer.
Anderson seems the most likely protagonist for it.

What I would to play an intro where we actually find, come up, or stumble in way to get to Andromeda, even if I got a twist that connected the two in a ridiculous Mass Effect lore way, just anything more... expansive?
