Why not Andromeda? But go easy on the open worlds, since they are nothing short of boring and devoid of life. Put more emphasis into the characters, and for fucks sake, get us a new lead and new crew that rises up to usual Bioware standards.

Keep Ryder but set the game another 10 years down the track. Make him/her a bit more hardened and give us more control over dialogue and crew interactions.
And FFS give us back the power wheel.

I would settle for shorter games in the Milky Way, not as a savior or pathfinder, but as a rugged merc, a C-Sec officer, a Krogan warlord. What I hoped and expected from ME3 was a series of games like Half-Life 2 episodes. Shorter in span, but building up for something greater. Instead, we got ME3 as it is, and we had to go to another galaxy to escape its ending. Alas...

A reboot of Mass Effect Andromeda with the Pathfinder being the first to arrive spearheading a rag-tag fleet trying to escape Reaper annihilation. The current iteration makes zero sense and is a waste of a perfectly good concept. Oh and no space magic powers, the Pathfinder is just a normal person.

I would just be happy with another game, at this point. Saying franchise "could return" doesn't mean anything. When I'm pretty sure Jade Empire or Baulder's Gate could "return" in the same tone.

After all in Inquisition it worked fine and race selection was only added after they got the extra year of development. If they started from the beginning of development with it in mind I think it would work well. They even have some of the foundation in place with the MP. |

Leave the MW alone, let that story be concluded.
Go back to Andromeda, but kick the ball down the road a long way to where the galaxy is more established. More races, intergalactic transportation, some kind of established galactic society, some established history.
Another game set in the fledgling days of the galaxy would not interest me at all. It was enough left to tie up in DLC, but not enough to make an entirely new game.

Different species would be interesting in ME. The perspective of an asari born and raised on Thessia would be very different to that of a spacer human or flotilla quarian. It would be a lot of work but it was done very well in DAI. |
