shepard has renegade interuptions so he would win before the fight begins , you know in the talking.
I like ryder but the most renegadish thing was to push peebee (a hot asari FFS) out of top of him.
And no the shotgun blast in the back does not count.

Pre or post Lazarus Shepard? Pre Shepard, while awesome, is still 100% organic human. Post is half robot, as Chakwas would say, with bones made of metal. Pre or post uberSAM Ryder? Same thing - pre uberSAM Ryder is normal human, post is physiologically enhanced by SAM. My young Shepard could handle 10,000 batarians on her own in Skyllian Blitz. My young Ryder was an archeologist. |

He wasn't too bad. I would rather have an ME2 squadmate on the roster instead of him. The suicide mission makes that tricky. Other than straight retconning it so the ME2 squad members never die, it'd have to be a specific character designated to fill that slot, since there's no way to give this treatment to even half the roster and get meaningful content out of them. Vega at least guarantees that third fireteam slot right off the bat for the prologue mission and for Menae. I'm not a fan of too many mutually exclusive characters because they get spread thin as a result. Just look at the VS. Ashley definitely got the short end of the stick (doesn't help that her writer was gone). |

That's probably part of it, but they're also carry-overs from the very start of the trilogy. That's why Garrus wasn't a mandatory squadmate in ME1 and Tali wasn't a mandatory squadmate in ME2? Crew? You mean squad. So if it was a multi-racial squad, where was the krogan in ME3? Why not have a salarian? Or a drell? Wouldn't those 2 be part of a multi-racial squad? |

I am just arguing for fun Not to mention the most badass Renegade interrupt in the universe. You can even see the moment every merc in that complex gets debuffed with "Shitpants." But to answer the thread, if Ryder had as much experience and has post Meridian SAM he'd put up a decent fight. SAM for the Ryder family is like super soldier serum with an IQ boost. But my main argument for Shepard is that he beat the shit out of a yahg barehanded. The best Ryder's done is beating up a bunch of jamokes in a bar fight with an old man. The REAL main event would be Javik and Shepard vs Bain and Efvra. |

Ryder can evade circles around Shepard all day long until Shepard tires right out and gets dizzy. Keep in mind that the game mechanics allow Ryder to run and evade all day long without tiring while carrying up to 4 guns and a shitload of rpgs regardless of class and Shepard would fatigue after only a few strides in ME1 and ME2 and never did have an ability to dodge/evade in any of the games. After Ryder wears Shepard out, it's no contest.. a short charge and one punch... and Shep goes down like he's just had his fifth drink in the Dark Star Lounge.  Endurance and Speed > Brute Strength every time. |
