And to think somehow MP is going to be shoehorned into the next DA game. This is indeed a disturbing universe. Idk man, Berserk is even more fucked up.

What hurt ME:A was No Man's Sky and BW trying to emulate it's procedural planet mechanic that wasted a lot of time. It's not the first time this has happened. In ME3, Shepard was supposed to become indoctrinated near the end, but BW didn't have the time or resources to pull it off, si ti became speculation for everyone.

I can't comment on the MP as I am strictly SP only but game sales were very bad. I work in game retail and at the store where I work there were loads of cancelled preorders over the YouTube videos slating the game, and countless people who came in and said they had planned to buy it but heard it was bad, so weren't bothering. It was the same story everywhere, the world over. The YouTube drama cost them countless sales and that's what killed the game. The first 48 hours of sales make or break it, and Andromeda was sadly dead in the water right from the start. So sad because there was an awful lot to love about it, I've enjoyed it massively, it's a damn good game.

It should be obvious why a game would get MP support over SP support, it generates steady income for not a ton of effort. Even a mediocre stream is better than putting the money into SP content in a game with a tarnished reputation and not making enough back to cover the effort you spent.

Yet the Suikodens and Majestic Jazzes want to pretend that the game suffered because it was "bad". The game was a good game, far from perfect mind you but not "bad". The youtube hate brigade was in full force on this one and people being the sheep they are just chose to believe what some idiots with a camera on youtube said instead of thinking for themselves.

For me no single player DLC killed it. Why would anyone purchase an unfinished game knowing it won't likely ever be finished ...at least not for another 5 or 6 years. Any new ME player is lost to them.

And the unwillingness to wait it out and see if it picked up once things were done; maybe crank out *one* DLC to see if you can get new players... give it time to re-find an audience, right? It's not my favorite, but the gameplay itself I enjoy (mostly the movement. I'm *really* missing the jumping around on my current playthrough of the OT.)
They shot themselves in the feet with showing *anything* before it was ready, though, and they really *should* have held it back another few months to fix the most egregious things. There are people there with eyes, they had to have known it wasn't ready when they pushed it out the door.

Wow you know I laugh when people say it's a bad game! I will never forget when I first stood watching the rain under the bioluminescent plant life in Havarl, first saw the inside of a vault, first ran through a snow storm shivering and scared I would die of the cold, when I first stepped out expecting snow so heavy you are blinded but instead I drove under the aurora dancing in clear skies on Voeld, first careened around H047C in the Nomad giggling at the jumps like a crazy person, ran through a volcano, bar fights in Kadara, trying to catch the Elaaden worm, when I first walked throughout Aya scared to make a wrong step but dying to explore everywhere, that feeling every time I saw an architect circling in the sky above, collecting trophies for the Tempest, standing on the bridge and the planets being right there at the window, Kai Tasira OMG wow... Andromeda gave me so many moments that were just amazing, far too many to list! I even loved going back to the Tempest to get little messages from the squad, made them feel real. Invites to meet up at bars, or in towns just to hang out with each other. Movie night!! So much detail and love went into crafting all these characters and it was amazing getting to know them all. Never thought another krogan could be as amazing as Wrex in ME1 but Drack managed it. Fire breathing thresher maws! And who can forget hugging Jaal's mum! Zero gravity Peebee! So many choices I literally sat thinking oh my god what should I do for ages, because the choices were so hard! There were a wealth of sidequests that took hours and yielded so much extra info about various aspects of Andromeda. The only disappointment this game gave me was the news that there would be no dlc. I have played hundreds of hours doing every single side quest and additional task and I had the most amazing time with it. Anyone who says it's a bad game just has no idea what thy are taking about - maybe they didn't like it but the game itself is fantastic, and everyone who didn't even give it a chance - it is definitely their loss. I truly love that there are people who never even played it sat trolling forums about how bad it is, such a joke, it's hilarious!

I truly love that there are people who never even played it sat trolling forums about how bad it is, such a joke, it's hilarious! Many of the moments you describe are favorites of mine as well. Since some enjoyable hours of gameplay is all I ever really expect from any game... Andromeda has delivered. Could Bioware have improved on it? Definitely. This game had a LOT of potential to be one of the best games ever... but Bioware did fall short of delivering on that potential in a number of different ways. Did Bioware make a big mistake releasing it when they did and in the condition it was in at that time? Definitely yes. They also should have taken a lot more care to ensure that the preview session with the media went absolutely smoothly (some of them did report encountering bugs during that session). Did the game deserve the insane amount of ridiculous memes and overboard criticisms that it got from some players and some of those journalists? No it certainly did not; and it illustrates the "childish" behaviors that go on just for the sake of getting "clicks" online. Is it impossible or idiotic to enjoy this game? No, it isn't... much to the chagrin of some of the malcontents that troll this site... and there are certainly a number of us who have indeed enjoyed it. I've also seen several playthroughs now online where the people playing the game clearly state and show that they are enjoying it... despite being inundated with chat trolls who comment that they shouldn't be (same as here). It's like the trolls are everywhere trying to batter anyone who dares to like this game into submission. Would such tactics even be remotely necessary for them if the game were truly bad? No, they wouldn't... So, IMO, their own persistence is clear evidence of the fact that the game is not near as bad as they want everyone to claim it is. For me personally, ME:A isn't dead yet. I'm still playing it and still enjoying it and I expect I'll be putting many more enjoyable hours into it. I'm definitely getting my money's worth out of it. I would have truly liked some DLC, but not getting any still can't take away the enjoyable hours I have already spent with this game nor does it diminish the enjoyable hours I fully expect to have playing this game in the future. I do still have hope that, some day, a sequel will be released (although I also realize that there is a possibility that there will be no sequel either) . Someone else above asked why anyone would still want to buy a story that has been left open for a continuation. My answer to that is that if Bioware doesn't provide a "canon" ending to those open plotlines, then I'm free as a bird to use my own imagination and write my own ending(s) to this game. I couldn't possibly be given more player agency in an RPG than that.

Bioware fans with shit expectations that were thrilled with this Anthem early access game.
Call me a malcontent all you want, the three hours I have played so far of the demo has been a lot of peeking through a facepalm.
Tastes differ, and so do expectations. Some people are just glad to wake up and find they didn't shit themselves overnight.

The reason MEAMP is inferior to ME3MP is because it's balanced for micro transactions.
Some of their best kits are behind a RNG paywall. Look at the Kineticist. It's ultra rare and not even as good/fun to play as the common human biotic from ME3MP.

I move on, it is very likely not going to get better. For you, I will complete all ten, somehow. Hilarious that you think 3 hours isn't enough time to pass some judgment. Then again, you have a lot of sand in your headholes.

" Hilarious that you think 3 hours isn't enough time to pass some judgment. " That is because it isn't. I hope your ass never ends up on a jury. You would be ready to send the guy to jail for the rest of his life before the defense even has a chance to present their case. People like you are the reason we ended up with the two shittiest candidates for the last Presidential election. Guess what you need to learn to fact check. The world isn't as black and white as you think it is. My point might be too nuanced for you to understand.

My point might be too nuanced for you to understand. That's a good one, given that you just made a ludicrous comparison between entertainment media and jury duty. If entertainment doesn't grab you within an hour or so, chances are, it never will. Good for you, if it did. But that in itself does nothing for people having found the game to be a bland experience. I'm somewhere in the middle. Finished it once but have no desire for a second helping. But to say, someone has to go through hours of utter boredom to come to the conclusion, they don't like what's on offer, is ridiculous. I wouldn't waste my time on something I dislike either. Especially when it's supposed to be entertainment.

Nah, BioWare did. Terrible management, terrible marketing, mediocre game with a even more mediocre post launch support. "But I can romance Jaal now durr." EXACTLY! I was about to post this. Bioware pulling the plug killed MEA and the fact that they prioritized romance over gameplay elements and glitches really fucked everything up. Fuck the romance crowd, make a decent game first then appease the weirdos with the 75 flavors of booty. MEAMP is still glitched in many areas or just in need of a major balance change as well as needing more content plus QUARIANS in MP and SP. They were busy making more romance additions and fixing animations to an unneeded point instead. Enjoy the Jaal secks! It's shit like that which took away from things that needed fixing or adding for ALL players.
