Go back and play the classic SNES rpgs, the dozens of excellent rpgs on PS1 and PS2, and countless crpgs. I think most people that dislike Andromeda will have had a much more thorough gaming background, and won’t be as easily wowed by a mediocre rpg. You’re right - I meant to write “bad” - not mediocre. Thanks for pointing that out.

Oh, put away the e-peen, already. If you're going to actually take on his point, then come up with counterexamples. Go back and play the classic SNES rpgs, the dozens of excellent rpgs on PS1 and PS2, and countless crpgs. And all I'm saying is that it's no different from any other RPG. Geralt is no different from any other RPG protagonist in this regard, especially BioWare ones. NPCs fawn over Shepard, Hawke, and the warden just as much as they do in TW3. True, but with Geralt it is written in the lore that women find them attractive because of that specific detail, regardless of their personality or faults. In other RPG's it's generally a result of their actions / words.

This is a charge you can level at any RPG protagonist. Geralt however does face the consequences for trying to have sex with Triss and Yen, they both leave him and he lives out his life alone. How is that not a consequences? I'm not saying it isn't- but it is a different type of consequence, I.e. the result of trying to sleep with two desirable women at once. That's a fantasy in of itself! All I'm saying is that the Witcher has at its core one massive (male) fantasy. It's just interesting that I find that pretty 'meh' now. Unlike Mr WellEndowed, obviously. I guess you forgot about the Liara and Ashley "Can't I have both" option...

All the potential sexual encounters (excluding prostitues) are wholly down to Geralt's decisions and actions.

I think it is a lore entry in the first one where it is mentioned that women find them desirable because of this, leading to jealousy from husbands and other men.

That's a lot of experience to me who cares if the "casual" gamers played those games? He played enough to be experienced. That’s because you have even less experience. You’re helping to prove my point. Oh please people can enjoy classic RPG and today's RPG.

Ah well it that case it is easier to RP in Andromeda. You aren't set to a specific character. Geralt is set in stone. You can alter his personality a tad but not much. I feel exactly the opposite. Ryder is every bit the set protagonist that Geralt is. The difference is that Geralt gets to actually make judgments and take meaningful action, to have real interaction with his world. There are far too many examples to even name, since they're found at every turn. Ryder, on the other hand, gets 2hro flavors of friendly, passive or submissive 99% of the time. I enjoy MEA, but this is my single greatest disappointment with it. I don't find it to offer any real RP opportunities. Every PT is essentially the same thing, regardless of dialogue and "moral" choices. I gotta agree here. You can customize Ryder's appearance, but compared to the choices you had to build Shepard's backstory and personality, Ryder's choices only get you various shades of immature, socially maladjusted teenager even in spots where it's glaringly obvious different choices need drastically different outcomes. In Witcher 3, I'm barely 25% through my first playthrough and I already can see I have more control with my choices over what happens around me in-game as well as Geralt's personality.

to be fair though most RPGs have really weak...let's say...first ten percent of their gameplay. Only real exceptions are DA 2 and ME 3. This just shows how few RPGs you’ve actually played... if anything, it better explains why you love Andromeda. Not to beat a dead horse, but you pretty much showed weeks ago you didn't even play the trial. Just sayin.

You act like Bioware games havent had similar situations in both Dragon Age and Mass Effect. I mean within the first hour or so Shepard can bang the Asari consort. In DAO there is the entire brothel and possible 3some or even 4some. Hell, even the Imperial Agent and Smuggler in SWTOR had their various come hither moments although more implied and less graphic, they were still very sexually liberal. So I fail to see why TW3 must be singled out.

Because they have a fan base that loves the relationships. Duh...That was his point. People on here bring up Geralt but fail to see the similarity in Mass Effect. And vice versa for the fans of the witcher.
