If you're really trying to get Bioware's attention, It'd be better to post this to the Reddit... At this point, a Ouija board would probably be best.

You do realize that Cyberpunk is supposed to be the largest open world game yet that is way larger than anything Bio did, and that CDPR will milk the MP they are so diligently working on for microtransactions? proof Call it a gift of foresight. There were recent articles that extolled the virtues and the extreme gigantic world size of the game (the figure quoted was triple the size of the already ow extreme Witcher 3) with a particular emphasis on the MP modes they are developing. That a few days ago was alluded to be inspired by Destiny in some degree. Whatever else, CDPR will not remain immune to the industry trends.

Well I still have CDPR for my RPG fix. BW RPGs are pretty much dead. Open worlds and microtransactions are their new path, which I'm not interested in. I'm sure Cyberpunk will be amazing, so I'm waiting for that. You do realize that Cyberpunk is supposed to be the largest open world game yet that is way larger than anything Bio did, and that CDPR will milk the MP they are so diligently working on for microtransactions? Well I wouldn't put it so bluntly but yes they've confirmed abotu all of this save the MT's.

Yeah sorry but I blame EA. It seems like they didn't really want Andromeda to succeed. I think with some more experience and some help from the A team, MEA 2 could have been a master piece. But instead the wanted to flush the whole team away, scrap the DLC and start from scratch. I can't help but feel like EA over reacted to internet hate at release. Considering how bad the development process was for Andromeda I think it turned out fine. Okay I have to single you out here because that is legit the dumb shit I've ever seen. Why in the world would EA want ANY of their games to fail. Please tell me how a human being can reach that conclusion. EA didn't do shit wrong when it came to MEA besides not be vigilant enough during development. Almost everything you're saying EA did wrong is what they did right. You dont let your employees that made a bad product continue to do so.

Look at Visceral just last month, and the mess with Andromeda and still, their stocks were up almost 50 percent this year over last. Their stock will fluctuate during the week in the hundreds of millions of dollars, or in other words, more than all the cash MEA raked in and they won't even feel it. Short answer, they don't give a crap and can take the losses.

Betweem forums and YouTube videos, I think the Andromeda/Bioware horse is not even a skeleton at this point. It's dust. Also how come so many people are experts on story and game design and business over the past few years. No one told me! I disagree with games being packed with loot crates and paywalls (spreads consumer base too thin) but-aww damn now I think I'm an expert!

How is this comment the dumbEST shit you've ever seen? There where clearly mistakes with Andromeda that needed to be addressed, but abandoning the whole team was asinine. EA is clearly putting all its eggs into one basket "Anthem". If that game fails, it will be a long time if ever before we see DA4 or another Mass Effect game. Bioware might even be on the chopping block at that point. Given the luke warm reception to Destiny 2, it wouldn't surprise me if Anthem flops.

I actually don't blame EA at all. Many fans hold Bioware to this standard, and it's based on the talent they had from foreverago that are no longer with them. Many people forget that before Bioware was aquired they released Jade Empire, which itself felt like an unfinished title just like Andromeda. Sure the microtransaction stuff is probably EA's doing but the reality is Bioware just declined due to a loss of it's talent. Simple as that. I've long fully accepted they're not the same company.

Short answer, they don't give a crap and can take the losses. Yeah, I partly blame them for what has become known as streamlining. A terrible word with a terrible meaning that first cropped up with DA2. But to assume they want to see one of their products fail is borderline stupid. Well founded rumor has it, they invested about 40 millions, five years of production time and countless hours of manpower tying down one entire studio. That doesn't happen if you don't give a shit. The shareholders would make short work of any CEO taking that approach. It's their money after all. Blame EA for going all mainstreamy and catering to the lowest common denominator. But don't assume they invest into something they want to fail.

But don't assume they invest into something they want to fail. Going mainstream is the only way they can ever get enough copies sold to make an AAA game profitable. With game budgets approaching $100 million and players being unwilling to accept fidelity mishaps there isn't a way to cut costs. One thing I have noticed over the last few years with articles I have read is that in the gaming industry is there are very few people in their forties developing games unless they are higher levels of management. There are articles out there that claim this loss of experienced talent is because the game development process is designed around young people without obligations so when they want to have a family or other obligations aside from work they leave the industry for similar ones.

After reading on what went behind with Visceral, wouldn't put all blame on EA ( though they're free to take their Frostbite and shove it up their ass). Seems they give enough freedom to studios...what did Greg say? "EA gives you just enough rope to hang yourself". The game must've sold very poorly, goes on on wikia, estimate of about two million total. Dead Space is way more niche, ended up killed it for way higher sales.

I'll trust Bioware and EAs statements over how well the game sold over some random 'wikia estimate' and they said the game sold well.

So There will be no TL/DR. Here's mine: MEA wasn't a broken mess, but nor was it their best work. Pretty much this. Do these threads ever go anywhere productive or...?
