Character creations is one of my favorite parts of playing any RPG, and I always get sorely disappointed when we are given few customization options. I was mostly very happy with the CC in DA:I, but felt the one in ME:A was quite lackluster. So I thought, let's all share what we would like to see in terms of character creation in a future DA title!
For starters, as much as I liked all the races we got available in DAI I think they should perhaps offer fewer in the next title if it would make it easier for them to write a cohesive story. Which races that should be kept I don't really have an opinion on, although Human is almost a certain. I would like to see our choice of race and possibly background have a bigger impact on how you interact with people in the game. I would also really like for them to bring back origins like we had in DA:O, even if they are not playable, as they to me it improves on the role-playing aspect (although actually playing them, even if they are short, would be awesome).
As for the physical aspects of creating a character I think DA:I was really on the right track - you could easily create characters that looked very distinct. The only downside was really the hair, but I think they made some improvements here with ME:A (although a lot can still be done). These are some of the things I really liked about the DA:I's CC:
- Being able to freely choose the color of eyes and also give them two different tones (just wish it could be done separately for each eye) - Same hairstyles available for men and women (just wish fewer were bald/balding) - The way you could make minute changes that could really change the whole look of a character - The many different parts you could change (jowls, tip of the nose, forehead, and so on) - That it was pretty easy to use once you got the hang of it (obviously not as easy as sliders, but with a little practice it wasn't that hard)
I looked at a video that showcased the CC for the game Monster Hunter World, and I have to say I was impressed by the looks of the characters. I would love for the devs to look at this and take some inspiration! The hairstyles are great and offer nice and varied short to medium length hairdos.
Despite the fact that there is a bit of a "cartoony" feel to the faces they still look reasonably realistic, and they fit DA's style pretty well. I also liked how you could move around the face-paint and place it to your liking. I also like that you can change the lighting in the CC and see how your character looks in daylight/shadows, and I really think we need this in DA.
What are your thoughts? What would you like for the CC in a future DA title? What other CCs are there and what did they have that you think DA also should implement?

Obviously they need to fix hair/beards
Would love maybe instead of different hair/beard choices maybe a way more control or sliders for hair -say you like the beard but wished it was longer or had braids or maybe u wanted your mage to have receding hair or braided sideburns. We have sliders for earsdo why not hair
Fallout 4-damage slider, wrinkles, moles etc

The Character Creator in Inquisition was great, excluding the hair, of course. The Andromeda CC was a piece of shit. So, if they build upon the Inquisition CC, and add better hair, and maybe some body options (like muscle definition, body hair, etc.), I'll be very happy.

My list will be along the lines of:
1. All 4 player races available 2. Fix hair and facial hair textures and separate color for facial hair and head hair 3. Human races are as distinctive, beautiful and realistic as in Andromeda 4. Nice variety of tattoos, scars and face paint, including the body tattoos 5. Emporium feature 6. ability to customize companions looks completely if the companions are of the same race as one of the PC races in the Emporium; I know they have their iconic looks and stuff and important reasons, but I just want to be able to quietly customize my team to look however I want them to look.

Boob slider! Someone was going to say it so I thought I'd get in first In all seriousness though: All 4 races playable The change to colour the eyes separately wold be great, as I enjoy making hero's with different coloured eyes. Long hair options would be great, or maybe a length slider, same for beards. More detailed hair physics (stacks with longer hair) An option to break & fracture all Qunari horn styles, as well as a hair option separately, it bothered me how I could have the horn option I wanted bit not the hair. Musculature & body hair The option to be left handed (we lefties need love too), but I do understand the restrictions on that. That's all I can think of at the mo.

You can be left handed in MEA, so I don’t think it’s impossible.

I would be happy for more hair options and not hard code it in the game so you can't add new modded hair styles. Currently you overwrite an existing hair style in DAI.

Fallout 4's has the only character creator I haven't modded to heck (or wish I could mod to heck) to get the results I want: Nice, layerable scars that look like scars, lots and lots of texture details like bags under the eyes or bruised sockets, the eyes are a nice medium between unremarkable and OTT and they cover all the important facial features without bogging you down in minutaie that wind up having hard to predict consequences on your character's looks.

-Better Hair, though I believe bad hair is Bioware'trade mark xD -Body slider (musculature, fat etc.) -Facial hair that actually looks like one. Not that glued on crap
Improve a little bit on the DA:I CC and you should be fine. Just stay away from ME:A's as far as possible

I'd really like the next DA game not to have you create your character against a weird glowing green backdrop like in Inquisition.

I would say a mix of DAI's and MEA's would be good because on ething I think MEA did have in CC that DAI didn't was reasonably decent hair. I do like MEA's hairstyles whereas I'm not too fond of DAI's too much.I will say though that DAI had the right mix of other options so definitely was superior in that department. To the point where you could mix things up as much as you like. The only redeeming feature really about DAI's hair is that it's easy to install mods to replace the ones that are there but unfortunately that's only available to PC players. So I'd say DAI's type variations with MEA's type of hairstyles would be good.

You can be left handed in MEA, so I don’t think it’s impossible. Yes & no, in ME:A it's nothing more than an over the shoulder camera swap, something that's pretty easy to do in a shooter, as the first one I played like that was Die Hard: Vendetta, an fps that allowed you to have McClain's gun in either hand, but when the bullet cam kicked in, he was always holding the gun in his right hand. With DA the weapon movements & placements would need to be accounted for on the character model for either hand & as the games often have cutscenes that involve fighting, these would need to be animated separately for both left & right handedness, which would no doubt be a waste of resources, for something so few people would possibly use, at least that's my understanding of it. & whilst I would like to see that choice in the game, being realistic, I don't think it will actually happen.

"Theoretical" - nudge-nudge, wink-wink - DA4 CC wishlist. Take DA:I CC; Add - "Better hair" (one day they'll hear us....one day....) And also add the option to view your in progress character in different lighting scenarios. Such as the pale moon glow of the Hissing Waste, or the bright candlelight of Halamshiral or murky overcast Exalted Plains (obviously inserting relevant DA4 settings here). I get the idea behind see our character get built in the very first scene we see them in, but the lighting in the Fade is quite different from the lighting we find elsewhere in the game, and it makes a difference in the way your character appears on screen. Body sliders (I'm going to slide right on past the boob slider idea although I wouldn't necessarily object ) - would fall into the "really cool to have, but could easily live without" category. I get the feeling something like that would be an absolute nightmare to implement. Body presets would be a nice (possible?) compromise... I know we sort of already have that, with qunari, humans, elves and dwarves, but I mean within each race. The male qunari in Inquisition is smaller than the Iron Bull. Let us choose from "really tall qunari", "average qunari" and "heavy-set qunari" or something like that. If those first two could be added, though - I'd be happy. As long as nothing was 'removed' from the DA:I CC in order to accommodate these additions...

Other people have already said some of the things I want, like better hair. One thing I would really like is a separate freckle slider. I didn’t like how freckles were attached to the complexion slider. I hope the race choice is back with better hair and horn options for the Qunari.

Since this is wishlist, the chance to be a spirit, with the end result of our decisions resulting us either becoming mortal, staying a spirit or becoming a demon. The results of the choices we make would not only affect the story, but us on an extreme level. Unlikely to happen I know, but this is a wishlist.

I need some dreadlocks.
Better hair (and armor) for qunari in general. They got 500% shafted. 👀
More scarring options - burns, a damaged/blind/missing eyeball, cracked/missing/capped teeth.

Yeah, no face scans. elven, dwarven and Qunari skulls are not the same as humans and the proportions are off. People often use sliders to make those skulls more human, so they look more attractive I presume, but the models themselves are not. I am fine not to use the scans, but I’d like them to at least retain the shapes of the features, particularly the eyes, and the quality of textures and hair
