-Better lighting. Heck, include a toggle for multiple lighting conditions(Final Fantasy XIV has this) -Full rotation and zoom controls -Change the facial expression to see what your character looks like when they are happy/sad/angry. -Better variety of hair styles. See Baldur's Gate 3 - they even have longer hairstyles! -The ability to edit your appearance from the character sheet screen at any time.

Yeah a body slider would be damn cool - I mean why do Asian mmo games get this done but actual real single player RPGs not… mind blowing. Those MMOs usually don’t have a ton of character interaction animations, which BioWare has had trouble with just juggling the human/elf/dwarf/qunari variations.

Outsider perspective - This could be one person's job, and if it is too much for an individual, a leader with a small team. Their entire job is animation scaling. I love creating jobs with other people's money. Do it now, Biowerpls

Well, I've only said for the past several games that they need a "show in cutscene" option so we know that our character is going actually look good...and not have to rely on The Black Emporium to make multiple adjustments to get the look right. It seems like such a trivial ask and solution to large number of complaints I've seen over the years.

All I want is an attractive human male face, short yet stylish hair, and a stubble option that isnt pixelated, all on top of a thicc slab of beautiful man marble.
Bioware always delivers for me. Hope they keep it up.

AFAIK, it's still being made in Frostbite (the next ME will be with UE5). But not being restrained by the previous gen is going to help a lot.

For the CC, here's what I'd propose.
1.) Shrink the default noses. They're always too big. Most of the time you're looking ahead so it's not an issue, but when the head turns...
2.) If you're going to give me siblings, parents or some sort of relative, match the skin tone/hair color. Don't bother with exotic colors for the hair, that's something modders can do if they're that interested.
3.) Likewise with the facial decorations/makeup. Just let me do freckles and scars/blemishes. For makeup, lipstick and eye shadow only. Modders can handle the crazy stuff if people want it that badly.
4.) Hair is difficult, and while I don't expect it to be a brick glued onto the head, I don't need Meridia's flowing locks. Just a bit of texture is needed. Give me plenty of variety with short hair, though.
5.) Body types are nice, but you don't need to go overboard. Fallout 4's was fine.
6.) Default outfits should vary. Just give me options like Inquisition added, I'll find something I like. But don't just color the same outfit differently. If it's too much trouble, then just let the player wear their armor.

If an npc has it, I want it. Tattoos, hair styles, armor or outfit configurations and colors, artificial limbs, skin textures ...etc. If you can make an npc look like that, it should be available for the player.

I'd like the body models of elves and dwarves to look good. Not elves with tiny arms and so skinny it looks unhealthy. And Female dwarf models in dao weren't great but atleast they looked like dwarven women and not little hobbit girls.
Not CC per se, unless they add multiple body models to choose from like swtor (eg slender, default, bulky/muscled), but it affects character appearance alot so it's related.

Oh and if they could design the cc to allow modders to add things to it (hairstyles etc) that would be good. DAI's whole thing of you can't add more things, only replace them, remains a pain in the ass. I guess it's never going to be as easy to mod frostbite dragon age games as it was to mod dao/2 but if they could make it just that bit less difficult, y'know?

DAD will still use frostbite which i personally am not a fan of even tho i heared they finally got better knowledge about that engine and how to use it. (frostbite imo wasn't really built for rpgs and at least wasn't really mod friendly in the past wish i hope will be solved for DAD with hopefully at least a tool similar to creation kit for skyrim)

Unfortunate why? Especially considering your following statement about not being a fan of FB... Am I missing something here?
The only unfortunate thing about moving back to UE for next game, is that the FB assets from Andromeda will not be as easy to port into the game should they need them. This is an outcome that is not insurmountable, but is real. This is a pro or a con depending on your particular point of view; for continuity's sake Andromeda will be a part of the game in either small or large part, of that I have little doubt. So, they will have to put in some effort to port assets to UE5 from Andromeda, which will involve some tool building I imagine, but nothing that they aren't used to doing in gamedev.
The METrilogy/LE assets are all UE3, which even two generations later is still fairly simple to use those assets in UE5. This is a good thing - at minimum, we get back actual facial variety in Asari and face model details for the Turian. That alone is huge to me, my single biggest issue with Andromeda was the immersion breaking everytime I interacted with the same Asari face. I am not saying this is a giant issue for everyone - just me maybe. But damned if it didn't bug the ever-loving out of me. (Pp doesn't count. Not even sure she's Asari, if Shaggy and Scoob were just around the corner in the Mystery Machine, I'd start pulling on her face to see if it was just a mask. Outcome unclear.)
So, just curious what the downside is (besides UE monopoly) or what other engine they would use? Unity has improved quite a bit from what I understand, but I don't know why they would go in that direction or any other. 2c

Sure, the gorilla arms look ugly, but the female dwarf with small arms looks so defenseless that I can't justify playing as anything but a rogue. At least with DAO's body model they still looked tough enough to engage in direct combat.
