For the CC, just something that allows you to diverge significantly from the default appearance, which some games are better at than others; but from a slightly wider point of view I'd also like more customisable outfits instead of the all-in-one suit that's become too prevalent in recent years: I'd like to mix and match tops, bottoms, shoes etc. And some jewellery options too. And properly accessible modding, so I can add my own stuff if I feel there's something missing.

A "show in cutscene" button to verify the character we create looks the way we intended...a small montage of lesser important ones would do the trick. I've only been asking for this on every game since before Inquisition so I doubt they actually implement such...even though it would go a long way to mitigating many of the complaints.

I just want a lot of options, really. Lots of hairstyles, preferably editable ones. Good ones too, not twenty different versions of short hair. Lots of default faces to sculpt, with lots of sculpting options. PROPER IN GAME LIGHTINGBut to be honest, I will never truly by happy with a CC knowing there's CCs like the one in Black Desert. It doesn't have to be that good. I know it probably can't because of cutscenes and what not, but just remove the option to adjust heigth and give me everything else Though that CC might be too good to actually play the game, lol. But EA is a big fucking company. All their games are on the same engine. You'd think they'd just make a fantastic CC for that engine for all their games. From FIFA to DA.

It's really impressive and the game is on sale on STEAM right now for 6$. I'm almost tempted to get it, if only for that. But's it's a 25G download and it's attached to some silly RNG & microtransaction-ridden Asian MMO. You could download it seperately for free up until launch from what I saw. But they removed it since. *sigh*

Making it so long hair doesn't clip with armor and other things would be nice.

Making it so long hair doesn't clip with armor and other things would be nice. I think avoiding clipping is a bit of a holy grail: it's one of my pet hates when modelling something and "it looked okay in Blender!" I tend to notice it more in stuff I worked on myself but some things are more obvious than others... Hair without thick, pixellated-looking strands would be nice too, but that seems just as elusive.

More facial hair options. I do not understand why it is so hard to add just a small goatee and in general very basic facial hair styles.. I'm also going to need eyebrows, the hair AND beard all have different color sliders. More colors would be cool as well, and a pure black color would be preferred as well over the current grayish black/offblack.
Facial hair for elves please ;; You can already give an elf a slight 5'o'clock shadow!
More hair options, obviously. Instead of 10000 different bald hairs, please add more short hairstyles. In general sensible, tame hairstyles would be nice, in addition to longer and more exotic ones.
More normal eyebrow styles. It was hard not to choose from the 4 most vanilla looking eyebrow styles, because the rest looked awkward and just really wild.
More options to decorate your face (and body). Blemishes, scars, burn marks, tattoos, markings, freckles. Piercings would be cool too.
Fitness/muscle slider. I'm fine with not being able to change your body, but I think you could at least add a slider for how toned your character is, mostly in the torso area. I don't think it'd cause much issue with clipping, especially if the changes are mostly just adding shading/shadows to your characters model to showcase his six pack and such.
These just from the top of my head.

Piercings would be cool too. Just a pair of earrings would be nice. I add stuff like that where I can (such as the Bethsoft games) but it seems practically impossible to add anything to Frostbite. I dunno, if Sims could do it years ago...

I think that if they can't do more than one or two voices for the CC they could some what cover that with a pitch slider.
So my hope: pitch sliders.
Actually, just add (more) sliders for everything. Hair, skin, body type, voice, etc.

Three voice options per race. Voice pitch sliders. If the TS4 can do it, so can DA4. Variable body types like TS4 has. More than what the 15 hairstyles that we got and the ability to add extra hair rather than overwriting existing hair. Less shaved options and more long hair. More skin tone. More complexions. Better eyebrows.

Three voice options per race. Considering the added time it would take for the extra actors to rerecord all those lines, not to mention the money to pay them, this one is highly unlikely. Yes, Bioware could simply take the Bethesda route and a have a small number of VAs do multiple roles, but people would complain about it being cheap, lazy, and immersion breaking.

Two would be suffice. I just wish that say, a male elf with a British accent would sound different than a male human with a British accent for example. Even if we just get a British accent and American accent per gender I'd be happy with that choice being available. I just wish they sounded a bit different per race though. Look at all the options that we got in DAO. I want something like that back for DA4.

It's probably going to be like Andromeda lets be honest. I would love hairstyles that don't suck, though. But that's always been Bioware's struggle. Also human faces that don't look potato. The character models in Andromeda were hilariously potato.

I don't see why they'd sound different, unless you mean one should be English and one should be Welsh (or Irish. Or American. They're kind of all over the place)? Sometimes I see people wanting higher voices for their elves and deeper voices for their humans, but Fenris had a deeper voice than most humans in DA lol. <-- not directed at you specifically, just something I've seen a lot of Unless you just want to be able to differentiate your Inquisitors better. I had trouble with this, using Sumalee Montano for my qunari and my dwarves.

Overall, liked the DAI CC. - Pitch slider, even a limited range. 2 voice options for each gender were fine for me, but I would have liked to modulate them a little to better match my quizzie.
- Separate color and style selections for hair, eyebrows, beards/mustaches, and horns. Eyebrow color should not be linked to hair color, and horn shapes should not be married to particular hairstyles (such as they were for Qunari).
- Better hair options
- No sideburns for women (at the very least no automatic ones). (This would help out on the better hair options)
- Mirror in the bedroom (if you have a bedroom) you can use to change appearance (not CC I know, but related) instead of having to go somewhere else
- At least one or two hairstyle options that are unique to the protag. If companions can have unique hairstyles, why shouldn't our character - the head pumbah?
- Some, but only some hairstyles can be available to both genders, but they should be tweaked a little to better 'fit' the head.
- Better hairlines. They don't all need to be receding or look like bad plugs. (This would also help out on the better hair options)
- Don't need 50 shades of bald. Seriously.
- Better control over hair color. You have access to that beautiful color selector for eyes and makeup, why not hair? Do it just like for the eyes, a slider for the base color and then the color wheel for fine-tuning. If that means some pink-haired protags, so what?
- Some additional beard/mustache options
- Better lighting. Maybe another slider from low light to very bright light
also nice:
- option to upload your character and their settings/specs/code/whatever to the Keep where you can choose to share - either to just specific friends or in general. Possible to be downloaded?
- earrings, facial piercings
- different hair textures - wavy, curly, etc.
- freckle sliders, 1 for amount and 1 for color
- add an option for streaked/highlighted hair. You'd need 2 sliders plus the color wheel to really do it right: number of streaks, thickness of streaks, color of streaks. It's be nice to get a salt-n-pepper look or sunstreaked affect.
- Something of a wild thought: a button that shows your pc going through different expressions/motions so you can tweak anything weird before finalizing.

Part of the problem is stylization. How do the faces look? We saw a marked difference between Origins and 2, most notably with elves. It needed to happen, but a lot of the elves didn't look so good (except for that smuggler Athenril, she looked good).
You have to start there. After that, though, mostly you just need to worry about the face. A lot of story-heavy games like BioWARE stuff has a lot of shots on your character's face, so you need to have very fine details there.
I've heard talk of complexion, but honestly, I've never played with it. I don't want to be distracted, and honestly, the makeup options just make the characters look bad. Especially when they did DAI and made it for men. I think that the people who do such things are small enough that modders can handle it.
Hair is hard, but they need to put forth the effort. Hair is one of the first things anyone notices about a person (studies back me up on this). And don't do the kiss-off Andromeda thing of just making hair unisex. That was a shitty idea: Male and female grow different.

Not that I care too much about CC, however, there're clear issues that need solving. I agree that DA:I's CC was bloody dreadful.
First thing first, put good lightning in the CC screen. Second would be allow the player to zoom in and out so they make sure they're seeing everything and they got all covered. That's the main thing I want to focus. This is to solve the main issue people have I think, which is "my character didn't look like that on the CC screen, what gives? "

I would like less options for hair, sliders that are more vague and harder to record/share, and for the lighting to be darker and less representative of the overall lighting of the game.
Also make sure that I cant make my characters facial hair match the rest of their hair.
Its also extremely important that I can only create a character after watching a long, unskipable cutscene, and there is no way to edit my character once in game.
