but you stll have a handful of people working on ME:A, ok so it's only MP, but they're still doing it Genuine question. Do they add anything or just tweak weapons config/launch events? The latter, just balance changes as they no longer do patches, but even so, it's a little something that you wouldn't get if the game was truly abandoned. Just my thoughts.

If they were to do something with the game it would require a whole expansion as opposed to just a single story DLC. If done right they could do an entire relaunch, though it's a pipe dream.

this is my fear too that another five years will pass. I don't think we'll have to wait that long, not with Bio moving to a shiny, new & bigger building soon, not only that, but you stll have a handful of people working on ME:A, ok so it's only MP, but they're still doing it, also, didn't they say they needed to figure out the direction of the game or something like that? Sounds to me that they already have a story in mind & in the earliest stages of development you only need a tiny team right? Finally, they can always do what they did with DA2's cancelled dlc & fold it into the narrative of the next game, but all we can do is wait & see what the future brings. Just my thoughts.

DLC for Andromeda is dead, the studio is gone and the people are reassigned to new projects. I think the market will cool for a year or three until it is announced that Edmonton has been working slowly but surely on a new Mass Effect game for awhile, I really don't see how this would be possible. If Anthem succeeds Edmonton will be working on supporting Anthem into the future and Dragon Age. Austin will be working on TOR and a new IP they haven't revealed yet. I don't see any room to work on a new ME, that's presumably why they shifted it to Montreal. Sorry ... Anthem will bomb! period. The Destiny crowd are little kids that are hooked on this follishness and can't see them crossing over to anthem, unless Bioware has a huge "horseshoe" up their butts. Bioware needs to stick to what they do, MAKE INCREDIBLE STORIES, not stupid kid games like anthem. Anthem is the real reason why I worry about Bioware and their continued viability going forward. I can imagine going to Edmonton to visit my son and grand kids and seeing the realty sign in front of the building on Calgary Trail. Their only saving grace would be to have a Mass Effect and Dragon Age in their back pocket to pull out as a save. There is no money in DLC without a seasons pass, as someone rightfully pointed out. I really hope I am wrong, as Bioware is one of the good ones, but EA has killed allot of good ones over the years!

I still think it was a mistake to altogether drop the game, but I also think BioWare and EA were probably both ok with it. I've seen numerous devs comment on just how difficult it was to make. Hope we get another game set in Andromeda one day.

I really hope I am wrong, as Bioware is one of the good ones, but EA has killed allot of good ones over the years! There's killing and killing. EA can slap the label Bioware over anything they want. I don't think they will kill the brand, but that doesn't mean that - what they call - Bioware will ever rise up to it's former glory. They are a division of EA after all and that means, EA calls the ultimate shots.

I signed it back when it first come out, and I will certainly get the next MEA story in a game format if it is ever released. I've liked it, and want more adventures in Andromeda's world.

I just signed it. I'm not expecting it to work, but I'll do my bit.
Also, let's remember that the ME1 DLC was released some time after ME1 was, one of which was partly made by another company. So its entirely possible we could see more content, unlikely, but possible.

It got enough attention that they brought a fan favorite character back that they killed off on Stargate SG-1.

The likelyhood of Dlc is minimal. I’m just holding out hope for a sequel. However was dlc even initially planned for ME1? I don’t remember any announcement at all.

Which is the operative word here. They explicitly stated there won't be further updates to MEA. They never said anything like that with any previous game. The announcement to discontinue support is highly unusual for any company. Usually they just sit it out, so they had to be very sure this time.

9k isn't a lot since that thing has been active since the bad news hit (even I signed it). Nevertheless I'm not surprised that people would still be wanting it, there are games from years past still trying to get DLC/sequels, it's how a fanbase works. I've said it's low on bioware/EAs part to not give anything to those who did stick by the game as it shows no loyalty and creates distrust for future products.

The difference between Kathleen Kennedy and EA is that The Last Jedi looks as though it's going to be quite the financial success whereas ME:A's financial success was ... suspect (let's go with that word). Because it's a money world that's really all that matters.

I really hope I am wrong, as Bioware is one of the good ones, but EA has killed allot of good ones over the years! Anthem is probably the game Andromeda SHOULD have been. Along with going to a new universe, they could have used that new flying gameplay mechanic along with these new "suits" to give the player an all new experience along with the already improved gameplay mechanics on the ground. Still would not have helped the story tho and that is what really mattered and that petition was doomed to fail from the jump because Andromeda sold poorly.....it probably sold decently the first week because of anticipation, but the s**tstorm that happened afterwards and negative reviews killed it, which probably lead to a huge dropoff in sales.... Folks was heated about the ME3 endings, but people still enjoyed that game and it sold well which is why it was granted a ton of DLC that for the most part was amazingly crafted and continues to sell solid and respectable numbers even today. I agree with you in that Bioware should stick to what it knows best...for me Anthem feels like EA is "forcing" Bioware to make that particular game...

If BioWare will ever go back to ME, they need to put their best people on that project. No more B-Team or some unexperienced youngsters, this time they need to take it seriously. Probably it will happen one day, but I don't like where gaming industry is going these days - MMO's, MP,P2W + every year less and less SP Story games. I've just checked calendar for 2018 - couldn't find even ONE interesting game. I hope Anthem will not succeed as they expect, cause I don't really like SP story lines in MMO/MP for long term.

I could shit out a Star Wars script in a day and it would be a financial success. SW now has that DCEU stink. It's earning half the revenue of TFA and like Dragon Age 2, got most of its money from the opening weak based on its predecessor and hype. But once word of mouth got out it dropped 62%. These are not good numbers for any movie, much less a SW movie even if it's technically a financial success. BvS was a financial success too, but not what it needed to be for a movie featuring Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. Ep 9 may not even crack a billion because people will be weary. What are they going to do when they don't have OT characters to dangle in from of audiences anymore? Nobody gives a shit about Nobody Rey anymore and nobody ever cared about Finn or Poe after TFA, who are just there to invoke a Luke/Leia/Han dynamic which was just a marketing ploy. Both are terribly underwritten. They'd probably have more success at this point is Kylo and the First Order wins and kills off Finn/Poe as he's the only popular character. Rey can join him and stick around. Otherwise, she can die too for all I care.
