I don't think it will ever be as popular as N-7 day, but the 1 year anniversary for ME:A is March 21st. The game is very different (and better) than it was in the beginning. I still play the MP often, but my weapons and characters have no hope of being maxed at the current RNG rate and my level of interest.
At this point, I have nothing to really celebrate, other than my own continued interest in the MP game.
Anybody have any comments or thoughts on the 1 year anniversary? (Anyone who visits this forum at this point already knows all the problems and glitches; I am glad the game is still playable despite all the unfixed issues.)

They gave up on mp way too early, they made some big mistake out of the gate and packed it in rather fix the issues.
They also made some very poor design decisions imo, they kept some poor features from ME3 and added some things to remove smart play from me3.
The game is still fun enough, i am getting better at the game for some classes and play it daily but it could have been so much more.

I still play the MP several times a week (because my best gaming buddy won't play anything else) and I think it's pretty awful. I'm far too lazy and disconnected to go into every reason why, but here's a few of them.
1. Way too many guns and most of them are crap 2. No decent assault rifle. 3. Pistols more powerful than assault rifles 4. Way too many characters, and most of them are crap. 5. Krogans are pussies. How can a 700 pound battle lizard get staggered by a 20 pound flying robot? 6. Jetpacks are useless when there are dogs in the game that can jump higher than I can with a jetpack. 7. Horrible netcode, headshots and some powers don't work worth crap off host. Teleporting and rubberbanding. 8. Bugs. Sound, falling under the map, floating in space, etc, etc. 9. Horrible balance, and only made worse with absurd buffs to Outlaws and nerfs to Kett. 10. Broken powers. 11. No promised expansion, not enough enemies, not enough maps.
I will never, ever pre order another Bioware game. If Anthem reviews say it's the best game ever and EA hasn't loaded it full of paywalls, PTW loot boxes and RNG loot boxes, I'll still wait for it to hit the bargain bin.
And that's just the MP game, I'm not even going to get into the horribleness of the SP game. See the below video if you want a run down of that POS.

For me, a good goal to hit by March 21st is to get the rest of those Platinum solos done (8 more left). I've enjoyed the MP game (still haven't finished single player) up to this point. It might not have hit the same highs that ME3MP did, but it turned out to be a solid game. And, I'm okay with never maxing out all of the UR variants. I'll just be happy to get one of each (5 more to go).

Problem is a lot of the mp combat just doesn't feel hard hitting. The best comparison I can make is Socom Confrontation. Had some of the core concepts of the beloved games in its series but due to a poor development team the game was rushed and felt cheap and barely held together. MEA's problems in regard to combat span from a lack of reaction and power. Guns in ME3/2 carried that "oomph" which really gave you a satisfactory sense or damage. Blast a Centurion in the face with a Claymore, 9/10 times not only will it be a one hit kill, it'll also turn him into a headless corpse. All guns also had their own unique sounds and ME2 in particular they sounded pretty devastating. In MEA nearly all gun in a given category share sounds save for maybe some Kett weapons and charge guns. Fundamentals are there but it needs some weight behind it.

Welp, not playing anything on March 6th but Retake Insomnia But I have gotten the itch to play MEMP again, so I'll be reinstalling MEA sometime soon. I just hope I'm not the only one on PS4. My last run was low energy.

For me this game has most of the things that ME2 and ME3 is missing, and what ME1 has; RPG and feeling of isolation, being out there, exploring. Also multiplayer, love PLAYING it, so fast pace. So yes, I will be playing it on March 21st of course

That video and blogger is.. prejudiced to say the least, typical sonyboy crying for developer to entertain him and which can't accept the fact that majority prefers gameplay and freedom in games first of all, and linear scripted interactive movie is secondary thing. Andromeda is far from perfect, especially first unpatched version, but it has it's good sides with graphics, combat, character progression (which sucks in most modern games) and main quests (plus arks/loyality missions) are OK. And also size matters, show me 2017 100-hour single player game of AAA-quality.. mm.. none, sorry. Of course, original trilogy ME or TES5/GTA5/Witcher3 are better then MEA, but well those are one of the best games in all history, you can't expect every new game with similar gameplay to surpass them.

My first reaction is to fart in Bioware's general direction, get on their facebook and twitter pages and remind them why I hope they never sell another game and get relegated to the dustbin of gaming history.
But in truth, they're now irrelevant. They're just another developer that EA sucked up, milked dry and will spit into the trash when they can't sell games anymore, which I expect is what we'll see after Anthem is released loaded with EA's evil and corrupt monetizing schemes.
Mass Effect is dead and Bioware is on life support and showing no signs of brain activity. Pull the plug, they're dead, Jim.
So instead I'll just remind my self and every gaming friend I have why no one should buy anything that has the Mark of the Beast (EA) on the package.

I’m still enjoying MP. PUG games are starting to dry up a bit. Well, a lot actually- I’ve crossed some threshold now where all the players paying lobbies when I’m playing have horrible connections for me. I’ve been planning on switching to the campaign once MP is dry, but recently, I’ve started to get into soloing and I’m really enjoying that. It’s made me realize I’ve been a sloppy player relying on my team and brute aggression and haven’t been playing positionally well at all. So the campaign has moved back to the horizon. I’ll get to it someday for sure. People sort of trash the story and acting, but from what I’ve seen it is fine for a video game. Plenty of room for “head cannon” to fix the problems...

I understand what you're saying, yet I would like to stress - as has been done many times by others before me - that aggression (sometimes even brute) really is a condition for success. I am still often amazed when I see other players walking through a map, apparently considering how they can get to a safe place, finding out which enemy is situated where and the looking about on how to tackle them... And they do it in that order, not having fired a single shot at anything during that whole period! Effin' shoot stuff, people! So, personally, I'd rather play alongside your sloppy, brute aggression...

Still probably one of the worst decisions ever to buy this game after having "played" it during the 10 hour access-phase. I was convincing myself that it will most likely get better, get some patches, good new content and will evolve over the next few weeks. Purely talking MP here, not even going into the SP. Even as a kid I don't think I ever made a mistake as big as this when it comes to games... and back then we often used to go to the store and choose a game by its cover art design. Still sad about all those wasted opportunities. This could have been such an amazing game, both MP as well as SP.

My team and I obsessed over this and really tried to make sure we were putting as many rounds down range as possible in every game. In the end we found it really helped with team shooting. Even bad shots could pay off when you got a round in someone because it made it that much easier for your team later. Which is a long winded way of saying, I definitely agree your triggers should always be down!

I forget how many points each player automatically gets just for being in the game while people do objectives.
