I'm wondering how people can have 10+ playthroughs in a year outside the speedrunners. Do you play other games?
I re-installed MEA and I plan on doing a 3rd playthrough (last time was like 6 months ago). Now, I just need to decided which twin and what build (did a casual "vanguard" and serious "engineer" so far).

Though some people’s living situation can allow long play sessions. Mine doesn’t.

I'm wondering how people can have 10+ playthroughs in a year outside the speedrunners. Do you play other games? Yes and no. When ME3 came out, I spent the next year plus playing 1-3 back to back, over and over again. No speed runs. When DAI was nearing launch, I switched over to DAO/2 to get ready, then spent a year or so playing mostly DAI with all my various world states. Just one speed run, and it started at the halfway point of the game. With MEA, I've got 6 full PTs in the books and would probably have more if there had been DLC for it. No speed runs. I mixed in one PT of all 3 Witcher games, D:OS EE, Rebel Galaxy, Star Control (all 3 games), and a bunch of other stuff as well. No speed runs. I work full time but playing games is my main entertainment.

MEA i didn't hit 10 on I honestly don't count but I think i'm on number 4 now, but I'm a completionist. I play fallout 4/skyrim/burnout paradise/HZD etc as well. With ME2 I played that on repeat for probably a year straight i love that game, ME3 the main story maybe 10 times in the first year with crap tons of PVP year 2+(still kicking myself for not trying it earlier).

I am on my 13th PT and have played the whole MET during that time as well as the JoH DLC for DAI and spent some time on The Division as well. No speed runs for me, full completion every time. Once you have beaten the game (first time took 120hrs) playing NG+ is much faster and only takes around 80hrs. I usually get 2 to 3hrs of gaming in a day so in MEA terms that'd be about one PT a month I think. Games been out almost 15 months now.

Here and there I find myself playing the trilogy more though. Either way I am in the middle of a move so not much time either way.

I only have 2 PT and am on my third one (being a completionist and an achievement junkie). Like a lot of others here, I mix it up with shorter games. Usually puzzlers such as Rime or Last Guardian although I recently discovered X-COM. These shorter games end up being my primary games. They help break up the monotony of certain sections of such long games. And since I'm already familiar with the storyline, I can still be excited with something shiny and new.

Yeah I think it depends on your situation as I don't work and I pretty much live off my disability benefits so don't have a lot of cash to spend and whIle I do have a brain that might allow me to work my body is just not really capable of it. So I have plenty of time to play games and whatever so having games like MEA is a bit of a god send as it allows yo to play many different way sand keep the action fresh because you can choose many different powers and abilities and different ways to tackle each level. It's one of the mqain reasons why I love Bioware's games because they'er all like this both ME and DA are. Also for me this is one of the main reasons why I hope they continue to make them. So for me games like MEA are like having several games in one package

I'd stopped at about 1,5 playthroughs last summer and uninstalled it. I've been mising it lately, I think I'll roll it again. This time I'll just pirate version 1.06 though, the later patches did some horrible things to default Ryders' faces.

I honestly haven't touched the game since my first playthrough upon its release... and I struggled to finish. I disliked a lot of things about the game, but every once in a while have a desire to play it. But time and passion dissipate before I can sit down to give it another go. I actually sat down once to start Andromeda and ended up playing Mass Effect 3 instead. Pretty much exactly what I was gonna write. Played it once and liked it more than a lot of people. But I haven't really felt the need to revisit. Every time I'm about to I just play Dragon Age or watch a movie instead

just finished the MET , soldier. And i have to complete an MEA game ( was 2/3 of the way when i decided to start MET). So think i'll do that.
I wonder if i were to do the best chronological sequence when should i start with ME1 and then MEA and then should i play both it and ME2 at the same time and then ME3? I never verified the dates really. ( lazy but i'll do so , eventually). When Ryder discovers the Benefactor intrigue, he listens to the logs of Alex and Liara , talking about the Reaper situation. And what time span does MEA cover from arrival to Meridian?

I have no idea how long between then and Meridian...

Ah right , it's 6 months for the Hyperion but 600 yrs for MW species so the whole thing is irrelevant. I was under the impression Alex got updates on the war from Liara after the Ark's departure and hence me trying to time the two games but indeed it doesn't matter. * dumb*

So as you sauid the whole when we leave is kind of irrelevant to the whole thing anyway.

I don't think there is any concept of days in terms of progress in MEA that I am aware of.

Yeah I personally prefer to just send strike teams tbh lot easier especially as I'm not good at MP I enjoyed the co-op multiplayer quite a bit on my previous playthroughs, however prior to the one I'm on now, I noticed queues for silver or gold were taking way too long to pop, so on this current one I've been letting my strike teams take on the apex missions. How are the queues in general for those of you also playing the game again right now?

One thing I might try is creating a Ryder who only uses one Profile, akin to picking a class in the Trilogy and sticking to it. That class would be determined by choice of training, and a hardline stance could be that you MUST have those powers in your setup at all times; a slightly relaxed stance could be that you must have at least one of those powers in your setup, or that you must max out those starting abilities/passives first before you explore any others.
I can justify having four favorites with somewhat different powers for each, but it would be the same profile regardless. I could also justify an extra power outside the "class" area as being the bonus power. But the idea is that you only pick ONE, and since some are soft-locked until you invest points, you would have fewer options to pick.
I like the Leader training the most, the ethos behind it is one I admire, so I could run an all-Sentinel Ryder. Full access to biotics and tech gives me lots of options, but my guns would be sub-par, because no Combat, unless I pick one of the gun passives as a bonus power. Though, if I picked Vanguard, I could max out my guns and have powerful biotics, but no tech abilities mean that I'm limited to biotic explosions...
One could also go back to ME1/ME2 style of weapon choice, so picking a combat-oriented profile (Soldier, Infiltrator, Vanguard) would "allow" one to use those weapons (Rifle for Soldier, Sniper for Infiltrator, Shotgun for Vanguard) whereas a power-oriented class (Adept, Engineer, Sentinel) would be limited to pistols. It would still fit mechanically, because any combat-oriented profile would be able to invest points into Combat Fitness, unlocking more weapons holsters.
It would give the specialist profiles quicker access to higher-ranked powers, but the hybrid profiles would have access to more powers. I can see it as being balanced enough.
Overall, I know that this idea is counter to the general premise of Andromeda's combat system, but it lends itself to the self-imposed challenges and some roleplaying. I just had this idea and I wanted to share.

I just had this idea and I wanted to share. My 4 Ryders all do this. They have 1 class profile, 3 powers, 1 gun and that’s it. They each use only 1 of the 4 special edition Pathfinder guns and are limited to only powers in their class designation. So fun and they all wreck shop. I just had this idea and I wanted to share. That's basically how I play, I am not a chop and changer of skills and weapons during a PT. I am not a major biotic user so I basically run Soldier or Sentinel: Soldier Turbocharge Concussive Shot Flak Cannon or Soldier Turbocharge Tactical Cloak (I Know its not a combat skill but it makes for a great combination Flak Cannon I have tried nearly all the assault rifles (my preferred weapon) but the best is the Valkyrie modded for auto fire and with a few Kinetic Coils Currently running Sentinel Incinerate Energy Drain Overload but sometimes swap this for Invasion When I run this build I use the Hornet modded with the beam emitter and for autofire
