Even though this was announced it sounds even farther off than DA4 if I had to guess. Still excited though. At this point, Elder Scrolls 6 could come out before DA4. DA4 is stuck in development hell. And Bethesda isn't Square Enix or anything. They'll release the game after Starfield, which is probably coming in 2019 or 2020. So maybe TES 6 comes out in 2021. DA4 got rebooted and it's doubtful that BioWare will put much effort into it until after Anthem is released at the beginning of 2019. Give it a 3 year development cycle afterwards and it'll come out in 2022. Of course, if they decide to rush it, that's a different story. DA4 got rebooted? When did this happen and I did not know that it was really at a stage that a reboot would set them back all that much, at most it would be more of a change of plans, I mean was there a definite direction for DA4 until recently?

Good question. I think I read it in a tweet of their's, but I don't know how long ago that tweet was. Anyway, hopefully it's still going strong, but yeah, any changes would be more like a "change in plans" than anything.

I'm gonna go ahead and say 2020 if they teased it. But only true if Starfield is 2019, if not, then no way. Gonna wait for people to start speculating where that is. I suppose people who play ESO are more suited to speculate since they've seen more ES universe than the average sinlge player "peasant". Mea culpa: not an ESO player but one of my first thoughts was whether the clip gives some clue as to where in Tamriel it will be... How is that even a question? The people want it to be in Elsweyr. Khajit demand it. Is time this shitty anterpocenty thing finally comes to an end.

So it looks like ES VI is still in pre-production... PC Gamer: Bethesda's Starfield 'is playable,' Elder Scrolls 6 is in 'pre-production' says Todd Howard www.pcgamer.com/bethesdas-starfield-is-playable-elder-scrolls-6-is-in-pre-production-says-todd-howard/?utm_content=buffer5d2dc&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter&utm_campaign=buffer-pcgamertw"I would say Elder Scrolls 6 is in pre-production, and Starfield is in production. It's a game we've been making for awhile," Howard said. "Starfield is playable. Elder Scrolls 6, not in that way yet." Keighley mentioned that several years ago, Howard said the technology didn't yet exist for the next Elder Scrolls he wanted to make. Is that technology ready now? "It's getting closer," he said with a laugh. "I don't want to spoil anything yet. I think the teasers we put out are announcing the game, and ones of tone. How does the game feel? Hints at where it's set, for both Starfield and Elder Scrolls set. Even for us, though, redoing that music and putting it up there, even we get goosebumpy. We can't wait to have everybody be able to play this game. But that's us, too. We want to play it."

In any case, I'm sure there will be spiffy Khajiit armor whatever the region...

Assuming that that little teaser does tell us anything about a game that seems to be still in very early pre-production, what does that landscape look like? I am thinking High Rock? I wouldn't mind a setting in High Rock and Hammerfell at all. Reguards are my go-to race in TES games and seeing their homeland in an SP TES would be cool. And with those Breton wizards and whatnot, I am sure High Rock would have some pretty far out contraptions and weird magic going on. I could see cool stuff happeneing in a setting like that.

CamelWorks and Gopher think it's Hammerfell. Could be anywhere really, taking out places we already visited of late (not Morrowind, not Cyrodil, not Skyrim), and I don't think it's Black Marsh. Could be any other province. Could be outside Tamriel too, but that's veeeeery far fetched. Wake me up when more of the game is ready to show. Put yourself in cryo, this is gonna take a while...

If it were one of those two, they would have definitely chosen a weird scenery. Not saying it couldn't be in there but it's not what I'd picture as representative for those provinces. But let's wait and see. They might not even have made a final decision on the location yet and that's why that teaser is fairly generic.

I say it will be released for the next generation console. For now, I predict a 2021/22 Nov release Me too. (Not reading rest of thread yet, sorry.) Howard said that its in what he'd consider pre-production, while Starfield is in (mid-)production. Fallout 76 is obviously in late production - fine since in many ways it seems a glorified mega-mod with multiplayer. So Starfield 2019-2020, TESVI 2021-2022. They get out FO76 now, push Starfield out as soon as reasonable (which hopefully isn't like 2021 jeez!), then focus resources on TESVI (which hopefully isn't so far as 2023-2024 jeez! That's ridiculous and stupid SquareEnix levels).

The fact we got a view at all was shocking! Based on geography I believe we can eliminate argonian and elven homelands. My guess is also I predict 2019 announcement with 2020 late release date I would be really curious to see what the da4 teams reaction was to the semi announcement. To say that none of the lead managers would have no reaction would be a lie. This is is a competition and the goal is to at a minimum to be in the conversation for top rpg and to sell as many widgets as possible . Would love to know if the phone rang and an ea executive asked the lead of da4 “ how we looking compared to them”. There has to be a long term future plan after anthem Pretty sure Anthem is the long term future plan and the future of Bioware and the Dragon Age series hinges off of it's success. That said a Dragon Age title has pretty much no chance of being able to compete on a hype level with a main line elder scrolls game and honestly they should not even try. If they are to make another Dragon Age game then they are probably best to forget about what the other studios are doing and focus on making their game the best that they can, whether or not it can compete with the heavy hitters is irrelevant and just focus on putting out a good game, if the game is good then people will come back. They should just do their very best, but perhaps not release on an Elder Scrolls year. Like, if E3 2021 has TESVI release later that year, but DA4 already had late 2021 stated --- I don't think many would blame (they may mock, but not blame) Bioware for changing DA4 to early 2022, or hell, even giving Bioware more time to upstage the competition through an extended time to late 2022.

The trailer was super generic, but I can't shake the feeling that it is High Rock. Yet, technically I guesss we already had High Rock with Daggerfall, sorta, I guess. Doesn't stop that from happening though. But other than that, an exploration into another non-Tamriel continental landmass could make a lot of sense, especially as it'd be on the heels of ESO, which could be viewed to be covering 'Tamriel' (or some version of it) for now. Let modders create/re-create Tamriel, and ESO have a basic version of it, while Bethesda actually flexes their creativity into something more new, even if perhaps still connected to existing lore. Then TESVII totally in Oblivion

I am psyched to know it's in development at the very least. Bethesda keep their cards very close to their chest. E3 2015 was particularly memorable. Can't stop trying to figure out where VI will be set.

One of the theories of why Beth kept saying the technology wasn’t there yet was that we were going to a region with a complicated environment (hence people really hyping valenwood or argonia). If that fly over was really indicative of the terrain/ecosystem of the region, it looked pretty simple and generic.
So maybe the technical depmands are more from story or mechanics.

Let me tell you, an elder scrolls with the cinematic level of far cry and metro games would make this game perfect.
Can you imagine if quest cutscenes were anything like this?

I don't expect that level for every quest or even the most important scenes from Bethesda, however they do desperately need to up their game in this regard drastically, especially when it comes to the opening.
