Will the main character be voiced? I know the player had the option to play one of several races in Skyrim. I'd be curious what Bethesda would do about that. Hire several VA's?

Great! I'm guessing it's going to be High Rock (or maybe High Rock+Hammerfell), but we'll see. Maybe it's Akavir after all...

The idea of going to other landmasses does intrigue the crap out of me though. It's just a glorified teaser, but it gave me the impression the world map it's gonna be really big. For Comparisons, I think Fallout 4's map is no much bigger than Skyrim's. But here I think they'll go twice as big at least.

Very large maps could mean you get lots of nothing between points of interest. Or they might resort to procedurally generated instead of handcrafted environments to compensate for the higher workload. Better to have a detailed, well thought-out smaller map than a big one with an impressing number of km² just to show off.
Hammerfell would be my guess. High Rock is supposed to have a more temperate climate, for the most part it should look similar to the Reach in Skyrim. Unless they used an area for the trailer that's not typical for the province, which would be just mean. One thing is sure, it is not the Summerset Isles. I wanted Summerset.

Wonder what this tech is, and if it's external tech like something NVIDIA is working on, or internal tech, as in new Engine/new features. Or perhaps he is merely talking about the consoles, and that they're coming, but not quite here yet.

It sounds like a combination of Game Engine and Processing Power to handle the game. At the very least they're either going to need to seriously upgrade their current engine, or move over/create a new one to do... whatever they plan to do. I was thinking about their engine the other day. Perhaps they don't plan on ever starting a new engine from scrap, and this may sound disheartening, but let's think about it: Maybe they're really good at adding or removing modules from it, or maybe the engine was built in such a way that it can be upgraded endlessly. Starting anew only pays off if you actually improve by doing it, and if the stuff I said above applies, perhaps there's no need. On the flip side, there's the fact they mentioned about "legacy" code in the Noclip video I posted on the FO thread, there're lines of codes that go back to Morrowind, things that are not used anymore, when they made F76 they had to completely change how the code worked because every asset loads around the player (something we all know), and that's useless for coop/MP. In their own words it was a massive undertaking to change. So perhaps it is better to start with a new engine.

Wouldn't mind an excuse to get hammered in Hammerfell. (Although I wouldn't say no to getting high in High Rock either)

I personally think it's either Hammerfell or High Rock, but really can't say which. Some people suggested maybe it's both, and while I don't see that happening, could be interesting. But I'd rather them focus on a single province with all the detail they can instead of having 2 tiny provinces with little detail each.

But... but... I heard rumors of Valenwood a while ago. OK, maybe a long while ago... My first Skyrim character was a bosmer. I want a game full of them! I'd take Black Marsh too. Not keen on another human-centric region tbh.

Not keen on another human-centric region tbh. Well, this definitely doesn't look like Valenwood, I can tell you that much, not a single tree. About being human centered... I guess, but all provinces always had variety. But obviously the protagonist is always "home" so we are ought to see Redguards and their culture shall the game be set in Hammerfell. Think about it this way, pre Skyrim everyone was "that's boring AF, just snow" but it turned out to be a little bit more than that. In terms of characters, ever since I started with Oblivion, the first character is always a Breton, at this point it's like a tradition picking a Breton as first char, I guess is because they potentially are good at everything. If it really is Hammerfell, I might be interested. Anywhere else... probably not. Out of mere curiosity, why exactly wouldn't you want to see some other province?

Hmm, I guess the short answer would have to be simply a lack of interest. Longer answer is that I'm not particularly fond of the ES series, but I love the modding capabilities they afford. For example, I didn't like Skyrim, but I spent years modding it -- not for playing, but for my own personal artistic expression. The main reason Hammerfell might interest me is that the art assets would come much closer to my tastes in settings than any of the other provinces.

Both Hines and Howard said TES 6 was many years out so getting a reveal was surprising. Let's hope they finally build a new engine.

Think about it this way, pre Skyrim everyone was "that's boring AF, just snow" but it turned out to be a little bit more than that. Hehe, if I am honest, I did think Skyrim was a bit too grey, too colorless, too dull (not necessarily in the sense of boring, more in the sense that there was no shine to any of the surfaces, even metal ones). I know they did a great job with the north-setting but after Morrowind with it's genuine weirdness and Oblivion with it's vibrant and shiny high fantasy setting, I did feel like Skyrim was the most ... well, let's call it dreary, maybe.
That said, I have nothing against going into another human province (in fact, I am hoping for Hammerfell and/or High Rock myself). I don't think the human races of Tamriel are by any means less interesting than the elves, argonians or kajit. And I always had an affinity for Redguards. They are my go-to race in any TES game.

My preference would be a non human province simply because both Oblivion and Skyrim focused on humans. Elf/beast people lore is also pretty crazy and I'd like to explore more of that. That said, I think Hammerfell could be pretty cool.

Yeah Skyrim's dead lighting was an abomination... A good ENB did wonders for a brighter atmosphere. FO4 has better vanilla lighting and is colorful but ironically ENB results are a mixed bag. So Skyrim modded looks better than FO4 modded in many ways.
I'm stoked for a new engine! Could be by the time the game releases in maybe 3 years that spiffy new engine is outdated again. *g*
A long development cycle always runs that risk. Happened with Deus Ex: HR and Alan Wake too I believe.
Do we know if Starfield will already use a new engine? I really really hope so!
