Mass Effect: Annihilation, aka the quarian ark book, has been delayed once again (thanks link2twenty who alerted me to it). This time the book has been delayed from September 6th/October 9th (websites were displaying two dates!) to November 6th. November 6th is the day before the annual N7 Day. Look into that what you will. Personally, I'm beginning to doubt if it will get released at all, Bioware won't respond to questions about it and have barely mentioned it since the No DLC blog a year ago. Hopefully I'm wrong. Here are some links to prove it: Amazon UK
Waterstones
Another depressing day for an ME fan. Good one, Bioware. Your PR is top notch.

As of this morning, Amazon US stills shows 9 Oct, but typically the Amazon UK date has updated a day or two prior to the Amazon US website. So far, every time the UK site has shown a release date slip, the US site has followed suit. I'm just going to start a rumor that the MEA "Go For the Eyes" DLC will be released on N7 day.
*ahem*
EDI just contacted me via QEC/time portal to remind me, to tell you, "That was a joke." I should go.
Edit add:
IMO, Cora's story should have been released just prior to game release, as a non-spoilery backdrop, leading up to the game. Would have made her character a lot more real than was possible with some of the clunky dialog available in the game. Sloan's story released when it should have and seems appropriate … filling in the story as to why the Nexus was in the state Ryder finds it, post Habitat 7 and more importantly, the motivations behind Sloan's actions, when we encounter her on Kadara. [Insert Quarian protagonist's name here] story should have been released just prior to the Aug 2017 release of the Quarian Ark DLC, to provide the backdrop for the storyline and introduce us to the protagonist, similar to Cora's and Sloan's stories.

You're right, usually the US site is a few days behind the UK site.
It'd be great if there was a DLC on N7 Day, a super-secret one they'll announce soon, but the likelihood is that its not happening. ;_; I'm mostly just hoping that the book gets a release, but even the likelihood of that is slipping!
Though I'm likely to be ignored by both, I've fired off a tip to Kotaku and Eurogamer to let them know about the delays and Bioware's reluctance to even mention the book. I felt it was worth doing on the off-chance that they make a post and we finally get some kind of response from BW, but it won't happen.

Dlc in n7 day? Thats the (unobtainable) dream! If anyone wants to also contact those news websites to let them know about the Andromeda delay, here are the links Kotaku (email) - newstips@kotaku.co.uk Eurogamer - www.eurogamer.net/contactThe more of us who message them, the more likely that someone writes about it. But I'll be honest, the likelihood is that they won't, because it is not a story that they feel would generate them a lot of page views.

It, shamefully, hadn't even occurred to me that it was the day before N7Day. I'm beginning to doubt the book will come out as well. Which is a real shame as I've been looking forward to reading it for so long now. Some big N7Day announcement would be great but I won't hold my breath.
I've tweeted at Casey Hudson and included the author

If they were rewriting the book, would think she would be included in that process … yes, she was contracted out, a hired gun, so to speak … but still, actually rewriting the book would normally include the author.
So … holding it back for some other reason. Which allows me to run amok (amok, amok, amok) and try to conjure up (amok, amok, amok) all sorts of hocus pocus … er, rumors. Which is fun … but has nothing to do with the reality of why.
DragonRacer is a published author … perhaps she would know if this is normal … thoughts DR?

So the book gets delayed again to right before N7 Day, two weeks after Bioware releases a blog where they say "And yes – we hear loud and clear the interest in BioWare doing more Dragon Age and Mass Effect, so rest assured that we have some teams hidden away working on some secret stuff that I think you’ll really like – we’re just not ready to talk about any of it for a little while…"

I think it's the latter. If the book explained all the unresolved things, they might have delayed it so they can put these in a dlc. Remember, casey said that there are some teams that work on some "secret stuff". I hope that stuff is an actual dlc because there's a lot of people i've seen that asked in many tweet posts from the ME account for it.

After the disappointment last time I got excited (Patch 1.10, just prior to the No DLC announcement), I think I'll watch and wait. Personally I think there must be some kind of financial incentive for them to do this, or they are not getting as many pre-orders as hoped and are considering shelving it. I hope to be wrong, though.

DragonRacer is a published author … perhaps she would know if this is normal … thoughts DR? Well, so far I am only a self-published author, which puts me fully in control of when I hit the "print" button. I do not know for what reason an author's finished work would be put on continuous hold by a publisher. If re-writing was happening, it would absolutely involve the original author. My thoughts are: - They're considering canceling because maybe they don't think it will net much money. This seems silly, though, as they would have already paid the author for the work and time she put in so it's already an expense. Perhaps there is a hold-up between her agent and the publisher on residual royalties or whatnot, but I would think all that sort of contract talk would have been hammered out prior to actually writing the agreed-upon book. - Maybe a super secret N7 Day surprise (which I no longer want to have any hope for because crushed expectations hurt too much). - Maybe they want to universally release on the same day and perhaps they are making it available in languages other than English and, therefore, maybe there are some translation hold-ups. This is all 100% speculation because, again, my writing group sending off files to IngramSpark for printing means our only delay is if the printer is having production issues.

Only way he'll consider answering is if he gets a barrage of questions about it from lots of people. Edit: Was it Mac Walters who was involved in the other two books? Might be worth tweeting to him about it.

I remember a book I was waiting for was delayed a few months because the people in charge couldn't decide on the cover to use for it (which in turn caused a shift on the printing schedule).
There is more to books than just the writing.
