BTW, has anyone else noticed the random spawning of a weapon with a LB like behaviour (2017 demo) was missing from 40 minutes of 2018 game play demo?
Stretching the definition of "LB like" there a bit. Rolling random loot on the spot has been in MMO's since forever, long before LB's were invented. Even DAI has that. I used to save scum treasure chests to get better gear. And yes, everyone noticed, because they said at E3 they had removed random rolling of loot in favor of doing it back at base, which I think is a horrible, time wasting idea. The putative reason was so as not to break up the pace of the mission while your buddy stands around rolling rares, but maybe it's to avoid people like you misconstruing a very traditional loot roll as an LB. Trying to be super squeaky clean about the whole LB thing, to the detriment of player's time. This is why we can't have nice things.

Actually, recent Bio titles (ie: ME:A) had their budget cut so drastically, the studio hired some EU studio to do the animation via auto tools, if my memory serves. Well, we all know how that worked out. How many gamers were pleased with their 60$ animation value? ... ' cause the game tanked and the studio was dissolved. Unless I'm wrong about the budget and Bio spend... what was that? .."... the equivalent of a blockbuster movie?" which would make it even worse. Definitely not on the scale of "blockbusters" unless we're talking 1980s/90s costs. MEA had 40 million production budget which was half TW3 (probably why we got half a story and generally bland characters). It was because CDPR is a crunch studio that doesn't pay a lot. A former employee described as if he was paid any less by CDPR he would be paying to work there. LinkThe development budgets for both games are the same, both games spent a good amount of money on advertising and promotion when compared in USD. The Witcher 3 cost $81 million total

And a source that distinguishes whether this 40 million dollar figure is the total budget or just the development budget? The reason I ask is that here you've said the total budget is 40 mil, but Sanunes 3 posts above said he wouldn't be surprised if the budget for ME3 was the same as ME:A, which we know is 80 million (same as TW3).

Also you're wrong, the budget of ME:A was the same as The Witcher 3. 40 mil development, 40 mil marketing for both games. Total budget ME:A is 100 mil Canadian - edmontonjournal.com/news/local-news/edmontons-bioware-uses-upcoming-release-of-mass-effect-andromeda-to-push-for-industry-tax-creditsTotal budget TW3 is 80 mil American - www.gamespot.com/articles/this-is-how-much-the-witcher-3-cost-to-make/1100-6430409/
