dazk , I forgot three others; When meeting Nickolaus again, convince him to intervene with Stentor When Stentor challenge protag to a fight, choose not to fight. The scene will play out to a good end. Refuse to fight Deimos when given the choice. This takes place in Sparta after the prison and battle events.

God the Stentor thing is 130hrs of gameplay ago, not sure if I remember correctly but pretty sure I fought him and whipped his arse, though I also don't remember it ending badly so...….

Shit, you’ve spoiled the whole game! 😂 You know what's really funny, when you quote a spoiler in your response the text isn't hidden so you see the spoiler even if you didn't want to. You have been in good form the last few days with your comments EZ!!!!!! Its all good I have completed most of the stuff and I am not one for caring too much about getting spoiled.

Won't get much play done today, too much to do round the house and the wife is home this week instead of working to keep me in the lifestyle I am accustomed to. Also got distracted trying to finish MEA Annihilation.

You know what AC should just do? Get rid of the modern day storyline. It's become tedious, and seems like more of an interruption more than anything. I'm not even following Layla's story, don't even know what's going on there. They should just end the modern day nonsense and future games should just be set in the past with no interruptions.

I'm not even following Layla's story, don't even know what's going on there. They should just end the modern day nonsense and future games should just be set in the past with no interruptions. There was a time when it was better written, and it gives the game a certain theme or anchor. I think it could be iffy ditching it entirely. Limiting the interruptions is great. I think Unity and Odyssey each do a great job of not foisting it upon us. That said, the current writing for the Modern Day is absolutely terrible. The characters are cartoonishly bad stereotypes of hipster millennials. The VA, or more likely the voice direction, is terribad. It’s obvious that different teams, likely in different studios, are responsible for the main story and the modern. The main game is solidly written and acted, while the modern is painful. It needs to be addressed, since they’re clearly building toward something with Layla that they consider major. (I hope it’s not the original time walker Desmond idea, but I suspect it is.) So, in terms of gameplay, I absolutely agree. In terms of story, I think a better written modern day adds to the metastory. The main problem is that they keep jumping about, abandoning stories midway through for new directions with new characters. It’s annoying. If that’s the plan, I’d wholeheartedly support the abandonment of the modern day entanglements.

Would a game totally focusing on the modern era to align the story fabric be feasible? *thinks* This would require an overall arc which I doubt the writers planned for. The AC series totally requires a long term arc, like B5 which was written by one person who had a vision. He knew what he wanted, planned, controlled and directed the narrative arc. There were unforeseen events along the way; actors leaving, the studio threatened to cancel the series but he had prepared for hiccups and was able to plug the holes.
AC really need to start patching holes and pull their socks up on the modern chars. Do they even have the 'bible' of lore to refer to if anyone leaves the dev teams? Would they follow that?

I didn't get to choose to fight Stentor or not. And I'm pretty sure about that because I loaded an early save and have to do the conquest battle all over again because I wanted the cultist hint that you can loot from Stentor's corpse. I'm assuming that if you convince Nickolaus to talk with him,
One of the reasons I want to play the NG+ is because I want to unveill all cultists before the game do it for me.

You get the option if Nickolaus is not killed by protag, I think. I chose not to kill Nick and I got the no-fight option in both PTs; Nick intervenes in a cutscene.

😐
So a while back I couldn't get romancing the stone quest (Medusa questline) to trigger so I left and probably put another 20 hours into it since. I think I've finished the family questline stiff, I got alexios out of the cult and reunited the family+stendor. I've only got a few more islands to explore (one of which contributes to another mythic creature). So I've got like 97% of the map explored and I've done more than half the ? Marks. Aside from that I have 2 more sages to kill to find out whom the ghost is (which I've an idea of who it is based off the hints).
I decided to come back to lesbos to do the medusa, but oy to find out the damn thing still won't trigger. So I looked it up and apparently it can be bugged for some players and it has been since launch. Great.... So I started looking for what may cause it and how to fix it and that's not happening. It seems restarting would be the only option and I have no desire to restart all over. As for what triggers the issue, it seems kind of mixed. I've heard killing the guards before talking to the lady bugs it out but I'm also hearing it just won't trigger the quest icon at all (my case) to engage it. I sent ubisoft a nice rant as that's just BS on a big quest like that. If it's not fixed in the next few weeks I guess I'll be watching the Atlantis stuff on YT sadly. I'm not giving up on my 110 hours of play time to get that to trigger.
Since I've pretty much experienced most of the game I'll start putting out my final thoughts which I may update a little more after I get the cultists done and if ubisoft fixes my Medusa issue (or I'll just report in after watching it on YT).
*It's a fun and beautiful game, one I actually would love to replay if I didn't already have various other games waiting in line. If they do NG+ I may get back to it later.
* Combat is fluid but has input issues, the abilities are a nice change since last time I played an AC game. Just adds to being a badass Spartan.
*Boat feature is kind of meh to me, the Mediterranean looks gorgeous but the boat fights really didn't interest me, I only partook in it of it was a mainline quest ordeal.
*The loot was also very detailed, I never had resource issues but then again I didn't bother upgrading the gold gear till I was lvl 50, by then I had 5k+ of everything and I'm nearly at 1 million in dracmea.
*The story itself was alright, I played a Kassandra whom really tried not being a greedy mercenary, I also banged anyone and anything I could 👍.
* It does get repetitive, especially with all the fetch quests and forts, this is why I stopped playing the early AC games as I didn't see that changing, if this game wasn't Greek themed or rpg marketed, I wouldn't have gotten it.
The only big negative for me was the bugs. I've had ? Marks I couldn't complete be because of chests being 200 feet into the ground (this contributes to me not bothering with the ?s so much) and I've had cutscenes go black that required me to restart the game. Aside from that, there's the current Medusa issue which is actually what pisses me off the most when it comes to the bugs. Games been out how long now? And this contributes to the ISU storyline so it's just frustrating how I'm on a standstill till it's resolved (if it gets resolved).
I don't do scores, so I'll just say it's a good game, not the best open world game but not the worst either. I may try out the next AC game if it has a good theme to it and hopefully they get better at the repetition.

Tittus , I have never fought Stentor and still got any and all clues needed. I’m guessing that Stentor’s clue might’ve overlapped with the one I obtained peacefully in Arkadia. Until now, I never even knew that Stentor could reveal a clue. (I also wouldn’t have guessed that the False Minotaur quest had a cultist clue, though I’m aware of the link. I guess I’ve always killed that cultist in advance.) By the time I reach the Stentor confrontation, I’ve already handled every cultist but the four that are story-gated. Those four being part of the main storyline, we’ll never be able to unveil every cultist independent of the story. Obsidian Gryphon , I’m not interested in a modern day AC game, and I suspect I’m not alone. Historical tourism is the single most significant draw this game has for me. They could’ve had a game that was 60/40 split during Desmond’s arc. I was invested in him. Layla and her goonish cohorts, though, suck ass. I have no interest in spending anymore time with them than absolutely necessary. Any alternative modern protagonist would only elicit a “Why is this in the present?” reaction from me. EDIT: ShadowAngel , the Medusa bug is a big one. That really sucks. The underground chests likely aren't bugs. Chests underground are common and indicate a cave or ruins entrance is somewhere within a couple hundred meters. This game has tons of caves and ruins (and those ruins are full of snakes 🙄).

A modern day story wouldn't work tbh. As Element Zero stated, the biggest draw is the opportunity to visit the past. I've never been to Ancient Greece. I've never been to Renaissance Italy. The chance to do so is why I really love the AC series. In a modern day story where would we go that we can't ever go to in real life? Also, who will the protagonist be? Layla? Ugh. It's better to keep focusing on revisiting history. Not to mention historically, the assassin outfits were much better 😊

A lot of people romanced Kyra. Back in my original playthrough I romanced Thaletas... only to watch him die during a victory celebration. I actually enjoyed his romance, but I'll give Kyra a try this time around. Thaletas refuses even a direct threesome offer from Kass. Too dumb to live if you ask me 😂 I think the writers put too many ways for him to die. The poison must be my favourite since it comes out of nowhere. You need to do certain quests and dialogues in a specific way for him to survive. It's like the intended consequence is to get rid of him 😁

I decided to see if there's any difference in xp with the new level cap so I started a new PT briefly, finish the starter island and see what's the level. No difference, it's the same as before so I left it at that. But a weird thing happened when protag finished the shroud quest and reported back to Elpenor. During the cutscene, the other guy who handed the pouch over would leave. But this time, the NPC looked different. What's more, he fell dead after the cutscene ended. For no reason!

So had fun on Kythera yesterday, not everyday you get to sleep with a priestess of Aphrodite and then kill her . Also had a dog come up and pee in the blacksmith shop I was at: And on Kythera if you look closely the guy behind Kass is praying and doing such a good job he is actually levitating off the ground.

I think this game has glitches that I never noticed because they did not obstruct gameplay. One such 'glitch' is the final cyclop (the man) that took place in a village overtaken by pirates. In previous PTs, I always cleared this area while opening up the island. When the confrontation took place, all the pirates were back in their places. It's like I never cleared the place so I always had to contend with all the extras. In the recent test PT, the pirates stayed dead and the noticeable 'glitch' was the one I mentioned in the previous post. I have to say that when a game offers the option of male / female avatar, the male avatar is always jarring to me because of the bigger gross movements.

Re your comment on male avatars this worries me for when I decide to do an Alexios PT after this Kass one. I am worried I'll start and then want to play as Kassandra again.

I always go around forts, etc twice because I noticed containers that hold drachmae would sometimes respawn the money. I'm presently doing Alexios and it'll take some time to get used to him. For me, Kass has a softer cast to her face and attitude, his is more harsh and a bit stiff at times. And as I mentioned before, his movements are more heavy.

Does anyone here use the XP or drachmae boost? I feel like it's worth getting it because of how long it will take to get 70.
