I had cultists on my mind when Alexios came upon 3 people battling an Athenian soldier. It was dark and I stood back to watch and when they killed the guard, I killed the group with arrows and only later realized that poor soldier had probably made an innocent mistake and he was being beaten with sticks and brooms, by simple civilians...dead civilian now. It's their own fault...they'd all live longer if they would just use some common sense and put down their brooms. Saw two Spartan soldiers riding their horses on a country road, towards each other, and they ran right into each other. That's what they get for always yelling at others to get out of their way. When attacking a fort, I'm always hearing the voice of a generic soldier (who also voiced Skyrim), yelling "Harry, archers!". Really he's saying "Hurry, archers" but his pronouncing it Harry, cracks me up.

So I got the 'ghost Arrows of Artemis' and 'Rush Assassination' God mode achieved.
Kind of funny when one thinks about it but in a lot of games in the past I have a good gaming session followed by a bad one. Well in Odyssey it seems to be every other fort goes down good and bad. Case in point just trapsing about one place and ended up having quite the fight for my life at the top of a castle turet...as an aside I have discovered it is a good tactic but I did get a little bull rushed at the top. The next area or two I completley went in and cleared it out without being seen.
Which then led to some grade A bullshit. I had a conquest battle all ready to go for the island of Keos and its sister island...the Pirate Islands? Anyways by the time I sailed to Keos the leader had become maximum fortified again and no conquest battle. So I really wanted that battle (it was Athenian) and well I didn't have much luck with Athens and well it seemed gift wrapped. Fortunatley in my travels I stumbled across the fort with the leader in it and well first time...I got the floor wiped with me and the second time it was glorious. Just went around basically sniping and assassinating people. Have no idea how long it took but fortunatley with my adrenaine bar now recharing at least the first segment I just have to wait for it to grow back and then pick people off. I had no idea how long it took me to clear everything out but I managed it. It came down to the leader with three guards, I played peeakaboo with one with the shield and was going to engage the last three in one on one fisticuffs but interestingly the last two guards seperated so I was able to assasinate them...then the leader I did engage.
....
And for my efforts I got a sea side conquest battle. Fortunatley for some reason it reloaded and let me finish when I died even kept my progress so I was able to do it...unfortunatley its naval combat.
Oh and I did do the quests for Albidies and Sokrates and Athens which unveiled one of the cultists...though I am saving the last one for later. Actually upgraded the spear and got another cultist down on the final installment to get my spear to level 5...and then I was shocked to discover that there is still even 31 cultists at that point but you need only 9 shards. Weird.
Hunted down the Neeman Lion for the second time. I found it a bit funny that it let me hunt her children from the cliffs above the 'arena' but not her itself. Saved me a lot of trouble the second time I did it and was able to kill the lion.
Finished off the day with the training with Roxana for the 'Battle of the hundred hands'. First of all it was just really well designed quest line talking to Roxanna, getting to know Roxanna, potentially falling in love with her and 'romancing her' (which I did not partake in) only to fight in this battle where you have to kill one hundred people to get to the end...and sure enough at the end you face off against her. Though I tried to do the whole 'Hunger Game Thing' and have us both lay down our weapons (which she did not go for). So I did have to kill her but boy was she a tough fight. It was also really well done because each one of the sub quests getting to that point really helped you prepare for the challenge, there was archery, there was fighting, there was a good smattering of bad guys and also the arena was on an mountainious island so that fit too. But the whole thing was a trap by the cult to find little old me, half expected Deimos to show up, but sadly...no. I forgot to check if the guy I killed sponsoring the thing was actually a cultist something I will have to do next time.

Ugh you guys are really going to make me do the dreaded 'double post' aren't you?
Well as of today I pretty much have a month left to play this game before Ace Combat 7 comes out and Ace Combat 5 gets ported onto the PS4...of course I will keep playing the game till the bitter end but man I don't think I will make it. lol.
So Ghost Arrows of Artemis may be the most OP ability in the history of archery. Can shoot through mountains, buildings, forths, across battlefields, and people to do a pretty good chunk of damage. Plus with my ability to seemingly regenerate at least one adrenaline bar over time it makes the patience game really fun at times.
So did a bunch of random exploring through Argolis and came across a Spartan controlled fort and since I am trying to avoid killing Spartans. Little later on during my 'story' rush I bumped into Hipocrates...which was actually another cave I already ran across...and pointed me in the direction of the fort. Well first time through I kind of tried to bull rush to the signal fire to prevent reinforcements to coming in, they saw me, massive fight ensued, two mercenaries got involved...dead Alexios. Take two even through sneaking around they still activated the signal fire...twice...so they can apparently do that. Also I cannot set a trap for it while its lit...and it can catch you on fire when lit. But I carefully worked my way through the fort a Ghost arrow here, a Devestating shot there...which Devastating shot is almost as fun as Sparta kick at knocking people off high places. Finally I got into see the surgeon. Now one of the reasons why I was at least TRYING to be stealthy was I didn't want to show up to the guy after killing everyone or at least be able to say "hey look...all these corpses...that's funny...they were like that when I got there." But the man in question was treating a patient and refused to come...so I knocked him out and literally carried him back to Hipocrates. Though it was also funny for role playing metagaming there was a new quest marker on the way so before reaching the quest giver I hid the body in some bushes and THEN talked to her. Finally got him to Hippocrates, his patient was saved, and off I went.
Next up the healers of Akipoles...or whoever they were. A bunch of priests wanted me to do favors and quests for them, in exchange for information on their mother. One involved a terrified priest of 'masked men' and apparently the entire order was under orders...heh...not to talk to any mistios who was asking about a woman. One involved a priest who wanted me to get rid of snakes in a bathouse but then said he didn't know anything and laughed in my face for me doing his errand for him...and yet the game didn't let me kill him. The final priest involved an interesting choice because he wanted me to bring back a bull for a sacrifice, turns out the bull was already dead so I just brought back the heart. The priest was not pleased and said that the heart could only go to one of the patients. Interesting choice ensued as a wealthy woman who was a single mother, a farmer, and an obviously dying child all could've been the beneficiaries. Now if you know my Alexios you know who I chose but I did like it that they did go through the effort and not making it just about the money. And the child was all like 'please choose the other ones'. So once again a nice touch.
Anyways all of Alexios's clues led me to the Elder priest who got his tongue cut out an interesting interrogation followed where I found out the Myrinnie actually managed to retrieve a badly wounded baby Kassandra but then lost her when the Priests said she died at the Sanctuary. Interestingly enough I don't think we got the whole story but I followed 'chrysis' around and well she was a cult member. And when I ran into her she lit a building on fire and ran. I saved the baby which apparently lost me the chance to kill her, but I hope that I get another chance later but even if I don't I think I made the right decision given what I have heard about the ending and Alexios isn't that blood thirsty.
With all that done and not much time left so I did random side questing...well one side quest. The High Horse one Dazk and OC were talking about earlier. Well sure enough he was smack dab in the middle of a military blockade and this was a location and I wanted to do the objective. But I was very afraid of him seeing me and bolting, so I basicaly stuck to one spot shot everything and then did the loot. When I approached him he bolted...right towards me, and I hit the talk button on him. Lucky. Ultimatley I decided that he should give the horse back because there should be other options. And man, I love taking to Sokrates.
Anyways last thng I did for the night was head for the Arena.
It may be a while before I do the next stage of the main story familywise at least, like a week. I really wanna explore the Arena and also really just get a good smattering of side quests in before anything else. Granted I do not think that main quest will be it or even close to starting the end of it, but I get the feeling that one stage of my adventure will be ending so...we'll see what I can do in the meantime.

Reddit is driving me crazy. I can't believe how convoluted their rules can be - it is impossible to ask a simple question there. >8l I'm avoiding reading posts since I'm still doing the main story and don't want anything spoiled, but I ran into a scene that made me realize something I didn't understand: When Kassandra confronts Deimos, she calls him "Alexios." I chose Kassandra as the main character, and I had assumed Deimos' story plays out the same regardless of who you choose. I read a bit in the wiki which says that the two switch roles depending on who you choose. I wanted to know from people who chose Alexios, does Kassandra become Deimos in that version? That would certainly make switching for a second playthrough more interesting.

I don't know if I can play Alexios. He's loud and brash whereas Kassandra is "quiet". I prefer quiet chars which is why I played Kass in three PTs and couldn't get myself to progress Alexios's PT.

Just from the limited time Alexios has in my Kass PT I also find his voice and delivery from his VA really jarring for lack of a better word. It's like the VA is trying to hard to sound gruff and tough and the lip synching of the words to his delivery in what I have seen really puts me off as well. I like Kass's more subtle delivery and emotionally I think her VA delivers brilliantly, especially when Kass just completely loses it with someone so I am not sure I'd say all her approach is quieter.

Hey Obsidian Gryphon apparently I was reading to fight the Medusa you can lean and shoot out of cover, do you know how you actually do that on PC? I don't think there're keys for leaning since I don't recalling doing that. It's more of auto-leaning. It's like in MET1 when you put Shepard right next to a cover, they'll automatically put their backs to it. For AC Odyssey, I noticed that when I put Kass at the corner of her cover, bow held ready, she'll lean out if I press to shoot.

So I know I did this a couple of days ago but this is by far and away the funiest thing I have done in ACO to this point and well I just had to share it. If you are familiar with the quest or want to skip to the good stuff the time stamp starts at 2:50:
Anyways so I started to fight in the Arena today and well I am quite impressed and I like it so far. Just don't know how much more I will do it given that's it a little imursion breaking that every time you go back to do one of the fights again you still have to fight the boss at the end. So Belos the Beast of Sparta has been killed twice...and keep in mind he is a Cultist so that is like...ahwhu?
After that I was explorng a random cave the interact prompt came up on the screen and then Alexios started expositing that 'the wounds on these men weren't caused by any Minitaur.'... I was like darting around my gaze at that moment...I imagine that might be related to a quest or something.
Anyways doing research on the whole thing I confirmed my sneaking suspcion that there is indeed no Conquest battle in Attika. That is unfortunate. So I think what I am going to do is just defeat the...Bull? In the same island that the Arena is on and then go on and start hunting for the bow of Eros. I might also putter around in Attika and do question marks to level up to...but since I am in the same neighborhood levelwise for the Erros bow I will go after it and get it before continuing on with the story.
Keep in mind though that I might also do this weekly quest and that requires me to Assassinate Spartan Leaders so I might spend a while do that to, which will then mean funilly enough conquest battles on behalf of Sparta to keep those lands in Spartan control.

Hey colfoley that is a good scene but I can assure you there are better ones to come. In the scene you posted I cannot remember what I chose but Kassandra told the guards the woman was a witch and they helped kill her.

So I know I did this a couple of days ago but this is by far and away the funiest thing I have done in ACO to this point and well I just had to share it. If you are familiar with the quest or want to skip to the good stuff the time stamp starts at 2:50: Anyways so I started to fight in the Arena today and well I am quite impressed and I like it so far. That's a bit of a surprise given unsubstantiated evidence plus thought she could've put a spell on everyone. But then just head shotting her was pure perfection.

So discovered this yesterday when questing and damned if I can remember where (maybe Lesbos), any ideas if it is a reference to anything? Killed The Medusa yesterday, I wish I wouldn't get myself so worked up for those fights!!!!! Ran around like an idiot for the first couple of minutes then almost died cause like I forgot I could heal myself then got my act together and a couple of overpowers and a couple of Heroic Strikes and a few whacks with the sword and it was all over. Ummm hey stupid lady maybe stay away from the snake haired monster!!!!!!

I think its because they believed she'd made the other woman's hair fall out.
