Soooooooooooooooo. I might need to do more of the weekly quests. Jesus Christ 68000 experience points from a single quest.
Going to be one of those things where I did so much it will be tough relaying it all. Actually it is just amazing how much there was to do in Messara. The ruins of Knossos palace is beautiful (and something I hope to see more of in the next DA game). And I spent most of my early part of the day getting up to the real minotaur (right spelling) killed the swordfish (which was a cultist) and then the minotaur was level 40 so...off to Messenia to find the erros bow.
It was actually quite lucky and fortunate my fiancee was using my phone so I couldn't look up where said Bow was. But I was going through the area of Andania mine and then she got off and looked it up...so I was able to see that it was in the Mine I was in. But since I looted both the chests of the area I was like 'what the' but following my hunch I went into the mine itself, and sure enough the legendary chest was in there. Something to keep in mind.
After that to finish the Weekly quest I went leader hunting, took out the fort which made him vulenerable, tracked him down to Alepia, assassinated the bitch and then fought in a conquest battle...for Sparta to make sure they didn't lose the region. I am a complicated mercenary.

Shun shun. Anyways got another good chunk of stuff done over Christmas. I did perform my best ambush yet too. There were three guards messing with the Hetterae as I was coming up to talk to them. Didn't see me. So I rushed assassinated the first two and then devestating shot to the head of the third one. It was fun and some great precision on my part, but sadly it was kind of spoiled when more guards showed up. Off to doing a bunch of cool stuff for them against the local crime lord, the monger, who was a member of the cult or at least an ally. Tragically during the fight I acidentally took out one of the spectators in the crowd with a devestating shot, but it was fun too because it led to this potential exchange in my head: "Tragically during the fight a spectator was tragically struck down by an errant arrow,no one knows who fired the killing-""But only one person was using a bow during the-" "No One knows who struck the killing blow." So after all that was done back to Athens to meet with Aspasia and I am actually really intrigued about the design decision they made there, esentally distilling the entire game and railroading you into doing the Athens section even blocking off fast travel. But also. The death count was catastrophic. Phoibe was killed by the cult, which was sad and boy they actually managed to convey somewhat realistic looking tears in Alexios's eyes there, I was impressed. And then it was off to try and get to Perikles who had been struck down by the plague though Deimos showed up, as creepifying as ever...but for some reason I did not have to fight her. Anyways with all that done I took Aspasia and fled Athens. So now basically me, her, and Herodetes are exiles. So the game does not actually tell you what 'chapter' you are on in the family storyline, at least not that I can tell, so I did at least a little reasearch on the matter and discovered I am just over halfway through the game. I think I finished Chapter 5, now onto 6...and there are 9. 51 hours in, and I have had the game for a month which seems to put me well on my way to making my februrary date that I was expecting. I also completed the weekly quest, involving the merc, and picked up a new outfit...and I figured out how to use the Predator arrows finally. Last but not least I am off to do my next string of side quests. I am trying to pick up the Artemis set and have just two more beasts to hunt, I think... Also it was very annoying when the game itself spoiled me with its description for the next part of the story I am on. So oh well.

Also it was very annoying when the game itself spoiled me with its description for the next part of the story I am on. So oh well. I agree that they do a really good job of showing Alexios' tears and sadness during the emotional parts of the game. Also, when reading the quests in our menu, it does spoil what is going to happen since it's telling us what happened in the "past" and it always throws me a bit. Been having some funny times with my tamed animals. The first was a wolf and I liked having him around but it was disconcerting that he made so much noise panting and I finally dismissed him but was afraid he'd then attack me and I'd have to kill him but no, instead he just went trotting off, which was nice. Then came a cheetah, which was quieter than the wolf. But cheetah had a problem with personal space because whenever Alexios would just stand around, cheetah would come up from behind and stand with his head between Alexios' legs...awkward Then came a bear and forgive me wolf, for thinking you were noisy and cheetah, concerning personal space. Bear was NOISY and I could imagine how bad his breath stank and how slobbery he was. Trying to sneak and use the bow was very hard because bear would be all over Alexios and get in the way and push him around. Finally, something happened to bear because he turned on me, unless he was killed by something and the bear that attacked was an untamed one. Then came the lynx, which is my favorite because it purrs all the time, when standing around with Alexios and also when the bird is looking down from the sky at the lynx, you can hear him purring. When he growls, he sounds just like our mini Schnauzer, esp when she play growls. I'm at 93% now and have had a full family meal. I didn't realize that the percentage was for the family quests and not the other parts of the game. I have so much more to do and I'm at level 67 already.

So....I killed the second of the two boars for Artemis today. And the hyenna. But the boar fight, which I have thus labeled 'the fart boar' is now the most annoying fight in the entire game. Anyways after the hyenna, which Alexios made the rather interesting comment that it wasn't 'native to these lands'...is Alexios a modern day zooligist?
Anyways after that plot twist I now have to go to chios to turn it in, a dangerous journey but one I am determined to make. Even if I have to turn it down to easy to do it...again.

I got lucky with the Farting Boar, died first time but second time the little pigs glitched and got stuck.

Though it seems I might've gotten lucky right with you at least on that factor because the first time I did it no little boars showed up either, the second time I did it however there were multiple bears battling multiple boars that I cleared out first. The rest of the times nothing too interesting showed up.

So funilly enough I actually got to Chios and Daphne without incident. Though I did run into a full troupe of level 49 huntresses blocking the road. I also felt like quite the daredevil with barnabas and Alexios and the game being all like 'you are in dangerous waters, turn back!'
With that back to the island with the cultist on it and the temple of Aphrodite and Diona...the hussy. Curiously enough I do not trust Diona really. But the first little quest in that chain that I did was funny because I killed the two cultist guards easily enough with ghost arrows and then with the third I climbed on topof the roof and planned to ambush the guy but he saw me and in the attempt Alexios did a funny stumble on the edge of the roof...twice...but somehow I pulled it off.
Anyways with that done I got all the bits of the Artemis suit thing, and since I did not like the chest piece, I gave myself a new one with the visual. I also am now rocking an epic 'snake staff' along with my legendary sword...going to have to change the visual of the snake staff but I gave it fire damage engraving. And last but not least I upgraded everything. But with my Eros bow I had over 1000 wood...I had 52 after upgrading it. Yikes.

Well they could make the hunting less or optional if they just increased the monetary rewards and sold the stuff at ALL the Blacksmiths.

Yeah the games really stinghy with the resources tbh, think i spent few hours running in circles killing bears for leather then a couple sinking ships for wood, which if im honest is freaking atrocious in a SP game, only to then realise i had a metal problem or quite possibly a mental one after that grind

It distracts from the game particularly early on.

Yeah my problems of my own making tbh 😉 I play a hybrid spec bent more to archer but more than enough skill points in both warrior an assassin that i can swap out to there playstyle if i get bored pinging stuff, i dont min/max an just use the legendary gear sets that were obtained through the story but keeping the Artremis one an only that one relevant is work in itself so don't even know if any other set will get done, i have finally maxed out the ship though so maybe resource hoarding be easier now it aint split. Loving the game though

I've had upgrades that were 2500 leather for a chest piece or waist from 65 to 70. On one hand I feel silly upgrading with every level up but if you don't you run into having to have hoard an atrocious amount of resources. I'm searching for blacksmiths all the time

I still have three mystical creatures to run down but took a break and found the third theorem for the guy who wanted it. As I escorted him and got into a scripted fight, bandits and all the soldiers from across the road attacked me and while defending myself, common folks with brooms and shovels attacked and deciding to play a "nice" guy, I didn't kill everybody but tried to hide while things calmed down. But dang it, all the chickens in town were attacking me too. It was really hard to "let things calm down". Which reminds me, sometimes the game will tell me I "need to be anonymous". Does that mean I need to use stealth.? For the fun of it, I had Alexios take off all his armor so he wouldn't look like a legendary armor clad superhero and that didn't help a bit. It still said he needed to be anonymous even while he sat crouching in his rags.

Being anonymous means out of combat basically, guards can't even be looking for you. You have to wait for them to give up, that is no question marks flashing over their head. Best bet is to run away and break line of sight and hide.

Honestly one of the annoying bits about the upgrade too is you have to juggle four different resources and worry about all of them. Again something having it gold only would fix.
Also I tend to compare the system to DAIs crafting because there was a LOT of grind involved in there too. But the main difference was A. You could use those resources and customize your gear to your hearts content or B. The results were truly worth it.

So I had fun. Off hunting down cultists with Diona her 'lover' got me to attack a military base with three people in it. God mode activated as I found a nook on the perimiter of the base and prompty slaughtered all of the guards...plus one captain...basically just by slightly strafing left and right. It was glorious and I really pulled off some amazing shots too. Yes this is OP and not something I really want in the next DA game, but its fun.
So here I was trying to hunt down the cultist of the area and i was actually...bored. This is by far the most boring side quest line that I have run into...or it was but then my interest was piqued when I was proven correct...Diona was the cultist! Which was really a nice twist. Less nice twist...Diona's sister was an identicle twin! And I had to chose which one to kill! And I chose wrong. How many people figured it out? How? I did end up looking up the solution (and ironically enough my fiancee was right) and weirdly enough the thing that I thought pointed to the sister's innocence ended up being a proof of her guilt, the 'do not trust the fates' thing. A really clever twist of writing there, if only from a meta stand point. Just curious to see what everyone else thinks.

^ After picking up the message about don't trust the fates and going back to Diona to report, when she started mouthing about fates, warning signals went off. I began to suspect the word fates might as well be a name; Diona. Her smarming pushy behaviour set my teeth on edge; you're coming on too strongly, why? I refuse you once and you kept persisting. I sense desperation, not true interest. I chose correctly at the end btw. I was very happy to kill her. If I could snarl and chop her remains into pieces I would. Kudos to the VA and animation / mocap, it set a very clear tone to the character. I played a bit yesterday. Kass went up to 64. I'm dragging this PT over to January because if NG+ drops, I'll finish it and start a new one.

I played only a little bit yesterday still clearing sites I didn't clear earlier. This led me to a town and I can't remember the name and the leader with his entourage were walking through the town centre so I figured I might as well take him out. Jump on a roof and hit him with Devastating shot, then aim up a Ghost Arrow as the four guards and the leader all ran behind cover and what happens?????? As I aim the ghost arrow they are all lined up in a single row, 5 dead in one shot. I may have done a happy dance in celebration.
