As someone that has been monogamous for over 20 years I do not use pick up lines. But I have had to reject people. Not because I'm some epitome of beauty but still it happens. "No" works. "I require love" also makes them run as well as "I don't want to go to jail".

This is one my friend made for me: ''Hi my name is Jakub, lets have sex.'' I'm yet to try this one. You're friend stole that from me! The "Jakub" and everything!

Everyone that knows me knows I'm married. So apparently, no, that doesn't work Do you seriously think people that KNOW you are married but still insist find that a serious 1) drawback or 2) reason to stop? lulz. Nope.

I got this super pro-tip if you want someone to get lost: Start talking about (can be imaginary) any weapon you have "at home" like it's a girl (well, boy, in case of women). Everyone should think you're completely batshit crazy. It's just a theory though... Yet to try it. (And if I can give you any hints - don't talk about 14th century crucifixes and the theory behind crucifixation and shapes of crosses - not even with girls that enjoy history.) Ummm...that might not always work though. I'm a big fan of Kit Rae and his fantasy blade collection, even have a few of his designs on my wall, sooo....yeah. Sometimes it might have the opposite effect. www.google.ca/search?q=kit+rae+swords&espv=2&biw=1648&bih=713&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi2yLfbtM7PAhXIxYMKHXhgDh4QsAQIJQ

People that know you're married before hand hit on you? Why do people find this surprising? Newsflash my innocent peers here, I must fill you in, there are people out there, both men and women, that give zero fucks if you're married. No, wait, they will give you fucks. They just don't care if you're married.

MA, I'd take it past that point.
Those that actually look for the wedding ring ... looking for sex, without commitment and there are plenty of unhappy married folks out there.
So yeah, it's a thing.
For me, a wedding ring is a "bachelor break-lock" ... when I see one, I move on.
Sadly, a ring is not like a tattoo, it can be easily removed ... have discovered that, the morning after ... much to my chagrin.

I've had some people I've known IRL do this yes but, gasp, surprise, it's mainly gamers. That's because in public I'm just a regular person/housewife that goes grocery shopping which is not very conducive to hitting on people? You know since it's populated with my neighbors and acquaintances and we're just trying to buy dinner. lolol. But apparently hanging out with people for hours and chatting gives opportunity. I'm just saying: yes some people REALLY do not care. And in case you are wondering I typically delete anyone that does that.

The people that I am guessing are doing it online, I wouldn't have a problem with. Just a bit of banter in my opinion - Can't say I haven't done that. If it were more serious though, then yeah, bit arseholey.

I just go with genuine compliments, haircut, clothing. I think complimenting someone's taste means a little more than complimenting their looks.

Pick-up lines...hmmm...let's see...it's been so long and I really can't remember many, but I do know I used ot keep a round retractible measuring tape on my key chain and called it my Peter Reader. There were also a couple of times that I found you didn't need a pick-up line when you remove your shoe and jam your foot in between the guy's legs when he's sitting across from you in a restraunt...hey, I've NEVER claimed to be a 'Lady". In fact I balk whenever I'm refered to as such. I'm a woman, not a lady. A woman knows how to be a lady and when not to. *sigh* but that was years ago. Before I had kids. Shhh...
