Have you been in the throne room of king Emeric? There is an achievement for "pieing" all three alliance leaders, so naturally a lot of people try to get a shot at them. Emeric seems to be a bit bugged however because the game doesn't register your throw if the animation doesn't finish, which it can't when another player throws a pie at him immediately after you (or so the theory goes). As a result some more reasonable people tried to establish a queue so every player can take their turn. The really funny thing about this is what happens then: most people stand in line and wait patiently, some newcomers rush in, ignore the queue and just throw their pie, others try to maintain some order via chat messages and one idiot is standing next to Emeric and spams his pie so nobody can get things done. Human social behaviour in a nutshell.

Happens sometimes; some issues become more acute the more people log in and it's been a weekend with yearly event active, so...

Lady/Lord of Misrule is already one of my favorite titles, but gawd do I now want to be the Em pieror. The best way of doing this is to get one extra player from your PvP faction and two extra players who are both from the same rival faction and cheese it. A guildmate of mine spent all of yesterday trying to get it legit and got all of ONE pie kill. Only the kill shot counts towards the achievement, so trying to get it legit while everybody else is also trying to kill your target is a fools errand, ironically enough. Stupid achievement design is stupid. 1/ Get your 2 pairs of players. 2/ Be sure to have at least 10 soul gems and pies per player. 3/ Go to a deserted PvP server. Non-Cp server will probably be your best bet. 4/ Find a quiet spot on the map both pairs can reach. 5/ Take it in turns to pie then kill one of your opposites and let their partner revive your victim. 6/ Enjoy getting your title in 10 minutes instead of 10 days. This is how 1v1 dueling was done in the old days of the game before a proper system for it was implemented.

THE ELDER SCROLLS TURNS 25!It has been 25 years since The Elder Scrolls: Arena’s release in 1994, and we are thrilled to be part of this incredible milestone with The Elder Scrolls Online. To celebrate this amazing anniversary, you can begin your journey to the Khajiiti homeland with the Elsweyr Prologue, enjoy sales on the ESO base game and Summerset Chapter, and try the game out free, no strings attached, during our Free Play Event. Check out all the details below! UNLEASH DRAGONS WITH THE ELSWEYR PROLOGUEIn the Wrathstone DLC game pack, you began your Season of the Dragon adventure by delving into two challenging dungeons and collecting both halves of the mysterious Wrathstone tablet. With the Elsweyr Prologue, going live later today, you can discover the true purpose of the Wrathstone, and, as shown in our Elsweyr Cinematic Trailer, unleash Dragons upon the unsuspecting Khajiit of Elsweyr.
The Prologue is part of The Elder Scrolls Online base game, meaning you don’t need the Wrathstone DLC or a The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr pre-purchase to experience this part of the story. You can begin this new adventure in two ways: Get the FREE Crown Store Quest Starter item, the Sealed Imperial Summons, and use it from your inventory. You can find this within the Quest Starter category. Venture to the first major city of your alliance and look for the Imperial messenger, Anais Davaux, near the Impresario’s tent. Aldmeri players can find her outside the northern gates of Vulkhel Guard. Daggerfall players can find her on approach to Daggerfall City from the east. Ebonheart players can find her at Davon’s Watch near the east gate. Completing the Prologue quests grants you the Dragon Flight Illusion Gem memento reward, allowing you to summon a spectral group of mini-dragons! If you wish to continue aiding the Khajiiti effort against the Dragons, you may undertake daily quests from Zahiri, who sets up camp near Abnur Tharn's camp at the Grahtwood entrance to Elsweyr. You may do every quest she offers once per day, and each rewards you with a cache of treasures from the Northern Elsweyr Defense Force. These caches can include Runebox fragments for the Guar Stomp emote!
PLAY FOR FREEStarting this Thursday, March 28, and running until Wednesday, April 3, you can play The Elder Scrolls Online free on all platforms. Because the Free Play Event includes access to the base game, this means that as a free play player, you can check out the Elsweyr Prologue Quest and begin the adventure that eventually takes you to the home of the Khajiit in The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr (now available for pre-purchase)! In addition to access to the ESO base game, the Free Play Event also allows you to visit the Morrowind zone, giving you the opportunity to explore Tamriel and the island home of the Dark Elves.
Once the event starts, visit our Free Play page to select your platform and enter Tamriel. Note that a PlayStation®Plus membership is required to participate on PlayStation®4, and an Xbox Live Gold membership is required for Xbox One. PICK UP ESO ON SALEIn addition to the Free Play Event and Prologue Quest, later today, we’ve also putting The Elder Scrolls Online base game and The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset on sale for all platforms. Visit our Buy Now page or your preferred retailer for details (sales should go live as the day continues). Note that the sale ends at a different time depending on the product: The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset is on sale until April 2 The Elder Scrolls Online Standard Edition (the base game) is on sale until April 9 CELEBRATING THE ELDER SCROLLS
We’re thrilled to take part in this amazing milestone for The Elder Scrolls and continue to bring new and exciting adventures to Tamriel. If you’ve never had the chance to check out ESO for yourself, thanks to this Free Play Event and sale, there’s never been a better time to visit Tamriel’s 2nd Era and explore a world without limits. Don’t forget, you can continue the adventure you start with the Elsweyr Prologue Quest by pre-purchasing The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr, coming June 4. The Season of the Dragon is just heating up!

I hope the new region will be as fantastic as Summerset. I keep returning there to group up against the world bosses which are a lot of fun there. I just joined a small newbie friendly guild, and have 5 pieces of blue Sanctuary gear, so ... :3 I don't really like the DLC dungeons though, lots of mechanics involved, so I'll just stick around the normal dungeons for a while The first time I used the normal random dungeon generator it flung me into the latest DLC dungeon with a bunch of 700cp people. I had no clue what was going on (mechanical mice? Wha?) Lucky the group doing it was super nice and helped me through the mechanics. So now I specify the dungeon xD

Died in the last fight of vet Banished Cells 1, then got rezzed right as fire erupted beneath me and he shot me with that annoying one-shot bolt. Then after that I died a third time … But I did get purple shoes of sanctuary though. So all that dying was worth it Might need to be better prepared before trying that again, though . Not fair on the other group members

Having just purchased Marrowind and Oblivion (including all DLC) but a sum total of $15 from Steam, it got me wondering about ES:O. How does it work? Do I purchase the software but gameplay itself is free? Do I have to buy loot in the game? I know there's DLC so I don't count that as extra cost beyond what you'd pay for any game.
I guess what I'm asking is if it's worth it for someone who does not care in any way, shape or form to make use of a paid loot system.

I guess what I'm asking is if it's worth it for someone who does not care in any way, shape or form to make use of a paid loot system. ESO plus (the subscription service) is pretty essential for anyone who wants to be a crafter, because it comes with an unlimited size craft bag (so handy). If you have no ambitions of being a crafter then the free game is fine. That being said buying ESO plus comes with 1700 monthly crowns, which for a year is about 19,000 crowns (you get all in one go), which I used to buy almost all of the DLC in the game (even though subscription holders gain access to it for free). So if you like the game and intend to buy the DLC, do a quick bit of research and see if it's worth it to buy a subscription and use the crowns gifted to you to buy the DLC you intended. Subscription is 140 for the year. 19000 crowns is about 130? So if you intend to buy the DLC and put your free crowns toward that, you're paying 10 dollars for a year subscription ... just sayin'

Thanks, but I was the only one who died, and I died multiple times *bangs head on desk* I'm currently CP 215, so I might wait a few more weeks till I get to CP 300 before trying again? Everyone else was at a higher CP level too. Let's see, for the moment because I haven't done too many dungeon runs I've just been pairing it with other random pieces of equipment. I have three of pieces of the Vanus set, so I get a boost in magicka recovery. I thought about crafting some seducer armour, but you need 4 pieces for that double hit of magicka recovery … At the moment after drinking witchmother magicka recovery is 2300, which is a little more than I try and keep it at (2200). I also have a random heavy pauldron (Pauldron of Tormentor) that seems to add health, just so I can get some heavy armour passives I guess. And a random medium belt (belt of the Spelunker) to add stamina. I'm not really very happy with my medium armour options at the moment I've been tempted to run 6 light and 1 heavy, pairing Sanctuary with Seducer and netting me more magicka recovery. I don't have any staves in the Sanctuary set. My healing and lightning staves are just a couple of random ones I picked up because I was looking for some with the defending trait (I'm too squishy I think. So more resistance is always welcome ) My healing staff is only CP 140 because I haven't been able to find one with CP160 that has defending

One other thing. How is the interaction with other players? Are they prone to attacking you? Do you need to join guilds to get anywhere? Or is it more like SWTOR where you can essentially play SP in an MP game?
I ask these things because I play RPG more for the story than any skill with fighting I have.

Nah - if you died constantly and wiped the group it would be a problem. Shouldn't feel bad especially for that accursed RNG flame-ball - it's amusing how often it ruins even tryhard no-death runs with the way it can suddenly one-shot people Out of curiosity, what do you pair your Sanctuary set with? Thanks, but I was the only one who died, and I died multiple times *bangs head on desk* I'm currently CP 215, so I might wait a few more weeks till I get to CP 300 before trying again? Everyone else was at a higher CP level too. It happens, we've all been there and we've all had to go through it as we practiced If you feel more comfortable with gathering more CPs before running dungeons I'm not going to keep insisting that you queue into dungeons anyway, although now that you are in a guild you may find people to run group content with regularly (also good to queue to at least one random normal dungeon run every day to get all that juicy XP for CP leveling) - I know I benefited a lot after I've met folks who were chill enough to let me run with them a lot and learn the ropes along the way. I benefit from having max CP and have everything set up optimally for each role I play, as well as familiarity with content from years of playing, so I know that what works for me will not necessarily work for someone who is newer to this. If you're running solo content on that char I'm also not sure how you'd feel about running full healing specs and spreading your available CPs on the tree that is optimal for healers because, while most solo content ain't that demanding, a pure healer set up can noticeably slow things down - but maybe I can give some useful pointers? I don't know your class or race, but ESO's class system is flexible enough to let us heal effectively on all classes so long as they're mag-specced and have useful sets/mundus stone/buff food/potions and so on - and if you want to eventually run group content efficiently, I'd personally run 5 piece+5 piece+2 piece or 5+4+3 with bonuses from relevant sets. You have a few options, easily available if you have access or ability to do some crafting. Sanctuary is a good set, especially if you're worried about your health, thanks to health bonuses, but I'd probably craft a full Seducer as that one is excellent all-around set that helps shave off magica cost significantly. You likely already know that regen (and mana cost redux) is very important for healers as we don't just heal the group, but throw a lot of support abilities, many of which can be quite expensive - I have around 2700-2800 magica regen on my main healers. You may not need as much, especially in vanilla dungeons, but as you grow confident with your healing you will likely want to throw more costly abilities to help support your group or will need to heal more as you tackle more demanding dungeons and that regen will help a lot. PUGs especially can leave your mana pool woefully empty really fast for majority of fight - if there's one thing random groups teach well is resource management for healers, ahaha I run full light setup specifically for regen and cost redux, but that's my personal preference - I know many pro healers who run 5+1+1 or 6+1, as mixed sets don't just give small boosts from med+heavy passives, but benefit greatly from Undaunted passives, which is why mixed setups have been BiS for most builds ever since those passives became a thing. I'm just a tryhard who knows how to survive even in hardest trials, so I can handle full light setup, aside from benefiting heavily from having max CP and thus greatly increased damage mitigation. But you can do a lot to increase your own damage mitigation without max CP - improving your armor from blue to purple should immediately increase your resistances, which will boost your survivability and trait effectiveness, with recommended traits being infused (stronger enchant effect) or divines (stronger benefit from mundus stone) or reinforced/nirnhoned for armor rating/resistances (in case you want more of that). I'd also swap the staff from 140 to 160 crafted one, since you don't have dropped staff that you'd like to use and also improved it to epic - staff damage also increases healing strength, which means stronger heals for you and the group. With beefed-up resistances from purpled/full sets you may not need a defending trait on your staff and instead use Powered, which should also keep you alive thanks to stronger heals. Crafted staff should probably answer question which trait you need faster than finding a drop with desired trait. I'd also ditch a single Tormentor piece, because it gives you no bonuses - given that at some point you may swap shoulder+head piece to monster helm set (be it Troll King or Chokethorn or relevant 1-piece bonuses... Earthgore set is BiS for healers, but you'll probably hate running Blodroot forge as that DLC dungeon is no joke - if you have money you can occasionally buy either helm or shoulder with infused trait in Cyrodiil from luxury vendor for 100k gold or impenetrable for 300k AP), you may want to think about crafting, say, med/light shoulder and heavy head from whichever set you think is more beneficial to you (be it max health or max mag 2 items bonus) or craft a staff with built-in 2-piece bonus before you swap it to something else. You may also be interested with Torug's Pact crafted set, since 3-piece bonus will give you magica damage and health increase - and pair, say, 1 Torug's armor piece and staves with Willpower jewelry for magica and spell damage boost (Willpower jewelry is very cheap and also comes with health/arcane traits in case you wanted to choose which attribute you'd like to boost), in case you don't have Sanctuary jewelry pieces. Anyway, that's how I see it and you're free to do with that information whatever you like. I assume you know how to craft or know how to find a crafter, but in case you didn't, I can craft and improve everything (that is unbound, naturally), from weapons to jewelry in all traits and it's not a problem to craft anything up to purple (jewelry up to blue) quality free of charge, in case anybody is interested.

One other thing. How is the interaction with other players? Are they prone to attacking you? Do you need to join guilds to get anywhere? Or is it more like SWTOR where you can essentially play SP in an MP game?
I ask these things because I play RPG more for the story than any skill with fighting I have.
There's one pvp zone in the game where players can attack each other without invitation, and going into that zone isn't required for the main questline. Outside of that zone players can challenge each other to duels with the option to decline them. Most of the content (essentially all the main storyline stuff) can be completed without other players, with some harder dungeons that pretty much requires multiplayer to survive. So it's like SWTOR in that you can complete most content alone if you so desire, which is what I do when I play. I recommend trying out one of ESO's free to play events. It's a good way to test out the game before buying. They have one now I believe and have them occasionally throughout the year.
