Anybody planning to run a 5/1/1 armour should do so by wearing monster shoulders and helmets in the off weights, then run the 5 main weight armour pieces on chest, legs, belt, boots, and gloves. The reason you want do this is that it makes it a LOT easier to swap your sets about, since your body set is always the same weight type. Healers would run heavy helm with medium shoulder or medium helm with heavy shoulder. It doesn't make any difference to stats which monster piece you run where as long as you re-enchant the monster pieces to max mag. Earthgore would probably be the best healer set to run if you're luck enouth to have a set. If not, Sentinel of Rkugamz is OKish and a hell of a lot easier to get. Failing that, run any magika based monster set. If that's not possible either just run 2 mismatched monster pieces, they'll still give you some nice 1-piece bonuses. Substitute crafted gear as a placeholder if you lack any monster pieces at all. Being able to swap sets quickly and easily is useful for any character, but doubly so for tanks and healers. They end up carrying dozens of armour sets and regularly swapping between them to match the requirements of the content they're running. That's enough of a pain in the arse as it is, you really don't want to make it worse by having to worry about your 5/1/1 bonuses vanishing because you swapped a set over and didn't notice you ended up wearing something silly like 4 light, 1 heavy, 2 medium.

Substitute crafted gear as a placeholder if you lack any monster pieces at all. Being able to swap sets quickly and easily is useful for any character, but doubly so for tanks and healers. True, and especially relevant to healers that have the most swaparoo to do when running group content. There's no single BiS for healers for most occasions - different sets will benefit different group content or group composition. Worm set is great for magica-focused group, while stam-dominant group would not benefit much from it. If damage is key over survivability then Infallible will be preferred over Sanctuary or Mending to hit the boss with set debuff. Kagrenac has an immediate advantage over other sets during progression runs or when running with groups that die a lot (except for healer, lel). And Olorime is considered BiS for healing, but Spell Power Cure makes more sense during fights with high mobility or group that spreads too much to benefit from buffing rune somewhere on the floor. However, this is more of an advanced healer's dillema (let's not even get into how to plan set logistics when instead of monster sets we pick a unique staff...) - newbie healers who don't farm specific dungeons regularly won't have as much of an opportunity to collect optimal sets with optimal traits, so at this point the best advice to get out of all of it is getting used to planning the setup in a way that leaves shoulders and helmet reserved for 2-piece placeholder set, so it can be easily exchanged by relevant monster helm set in the future. I wouldn't bother with Sentinel or Nightflame sets - even if the heal is worth something when people are standing in it, the 'standing in it' part is much more difficult to execute, as the healing radius is too small to be significant unless the group is in a tight stack. The stam portion in it *may* offer some benefit for stam groups on occasion, especially now that many people drop the Master resto to run Earthgore, but I'd say that the effect is negligible for most groups, especially if healer consistently provides shards/orbs and synergies to restore resources. Chokethorn is better because - while the heal is basically additional Regeneration for random group member - the proc chance is higher and the heal is able to reach 1 player from bigger distance and it offers mag regen for 1st piece bonus. Elden Hollow I is also a very easy dungeon. I think however I'd pick Troll King over that, or just wear 1 Chokethorn and 1 Shadowrend for all that mag regen, especially if I wear Sanctuary, as that set is stingy when it comes to resource bonuses. PC players are lucky that they can download addons that let them save setups and change them automatically. I don't know what I'd without Dressing Room or similar addons

^for the post above, that's dedication. I'm not quite sure Elsweyr will capture the beauty of the colorful Summerset landscape in my eyes, but from the trailers the design looks good. I got my Indrik pet and then played through the prologue for Elsweyr and once again I'm reminded why I love Abnur Tharn, almost forgot how much I missed that snide bastard. As for any dragons, I will hate having to off any of them, those beautiful majestic beasts. I also tried to solo vaults of madness and all I have to say is fuck that last boss, gave me a migraine. I managed after about 5 or 6 revives . I stupidly couldn't figure out the mechanics/circle thing until several deaths later.

^for the post above, that's dedication. Tryhards gonna tryhard Yay for Abnur Tharn love! There's a chance I wouldn't stand the guy if he was a real person, but goddamn if he isn't a fun, compelling character. I have a funny story from VoM, from my very first clear - when the boss initiated the attack that made all the stained glass fly everywhere it was so amazing to witness for the first time all 4 of us just stood there being all 'whoa'... and then died, as we were all outside of the protective bubble. Mesmerized to death! I keep laughing about it till this day.

Lots of good advice in here Sanctuary is a good set, especially if you're worried about your health, thanks to health bonuses, but I'd probably craft a full Seducer as that one is excellent all-around set that helps shave off magica cost significantly. You likely already know that regen (and mana cost redux) is very important for healers as we don't just heal the group, but throw a lot of support abilities, many of which can be quite expensive - I have around 2700-2800 magica regen on my main healers. You may not need as much, especially in vanilla dungeons, but as you grow confident with your healing you will likely want to throw more costly abilities to help support your group or will need to heal more as you tackle more demanding dungeons and that regen will help a lot. PUGs especially can leave your mana pool woefully empty really fast for majority of fight - if there's one thing random groups teach well is resource management for healers, ahaha I'd also swap the staff from 140 to 160 crafted one, since you don't have dropped staff that you'd like to use and also improved it to epic - staff damage also increases healing strength, which means stronger heals for you and the group. With beefed-up resistances from purpled/full sets you may not need a defending trait on your staff and instead use Powered, which should also keep you alive thanks to stronger heals. Crafted staff should probably answer question which trait you need faster than finding a drop with desired trait. I'd also ditch a single Tormentor piece, because it gives you no bonuses - given that at some point you may swap shoulder+head piece to monster helm set (be it Troll King or Chokethorn or relevant 1-piece bonuses... Earthgore set is BiS for healers, but you'll probably hate running Blodroot forge as that DLC dungeon is no joke - if you have money you can occasionally buy either helm or shoulder with infused trait in Cyrodiil from luxury vendor for 100k gold or impenetrable for 300k AP), you may want to think about crafting, say, med/light shoulder and heavy head from whichever set you think is more beneficial to you (be it max health or max mag 2 items bonus) or craft a staff with built-in 2-piece bonus before you swap it to something else. You may also be interested with Torug's Pact crafted set, since 3-piece bonus will give you magica damage and health increase - and pair, say, 1 Torug's armor piece and staves with Willpower jewelry for magica and spell damage boost (Willpower jewelry is very cheap and also comes with health/arcane traits in case you wanted to choose which attribute you'd like to boost), in case you don't have Sanctuary jewelry pieces. Thanks for the suggestions they're very helpful I had to go skyshard hunting the past couple of days so I could funnel points into woodworking (prev I had only alchemy and clothing maxed). Tomorrow I'll need to farm some ancestor silk because I've only got about 200 and 160 Seducer seems to need a lot 0.0

I'm looking at an argument raging on the ESO forums, where because Elsewyr introduces the concept of "if you've unlocked a zone skyshards achievement on one character, you can unlock those skyshards for all your alts automatically through the crown store", people are now labelling the game "pay to win". And I have a proposal. Everybody who doesn't know what pay to win is has to play the worst pay to win FTP games in existence, ONLY those games, and they're not allowed to stop until they've fully internalised the experience. You know, the ones where people pay for the ability to take other players out from across the map, automatically, with their also-paid-for OP pets, where you grind for years for a minimal damage increase on your paltry slingshot, THOSE pay to win games. I feel like the "TO WIN" aspect of this isn't highlighted enough. I feel people haven't fully experienced the horror and frustration of these games, and label anything "pay to win" xD

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have 12 toons and it will be 14 after Elsweyr drops - I am SO done collecting skyshards on all of them. It takes way longer than leveling itself. People who alternatively label 'pay to be lazy' can also go and get stuffed. I already spend too much time in this game. And don't worry - people will label everything pay to win. In fact, I'm surprised folks so far dont't seem to make that big of a stink about Necromancer coming with Elsweyr - at the time of Morrowind dropping and introducing Warden class it was the biggest 'pay to win' controversy, comparable only to the whole resource regen gutting. Huh, I guess people either forgot about this or goalposts have shifted...

It's just a really nice quality of life addition Yea, I saw it. If anything it's 'pay for convenience' - AFAIK people still have to go and collect shards (and books and other collectables that count towards unlocking stuff), so it's not like anybody can just skip everything and arrive at endgame fully decked or something. The question remains how much this thing will cost per character.

Anyway since I've hunted skyshards over and over and have grown tired of it, I have a few alts that might suck up some of my crowns this way. The work still had to be put in and pretty much anything in this game you can get for free, so I don't see how that's pay to win but whatever. Good news for me I guess

Yes the skyshard thing will be in the crown store when youve unlocked the achievement on at least one alt. They're looking in on expanding this convenience thing to other aspect in the future like horse training.

It's pretty expensive though 0.0 I'm wondering if horse stamina does much at the moment. Galluping drains stamina, but even when your horse's stamina is empty if you don't stop they can still gallup just as fast as when they had full stamina (and then you get to town and your horse dies and you have to buy a new horse xD)Doing a quick search and it seems like horse mounts have an endless sprint trait? I can keep flogging my horse and it just keeps going and going and going? Brilliant 0.0 Heh heh heh

Brilliant 0.0 Heh heh heh It's mostly relevant in PVP (or in case you'd like to gallop through thick mobs to get somewhere fast) - when stamina drains to 0 and you get hit by enemy you fall off the horse and get stunned for a moment, thus giving anything hostile a chance to either kill you or at least get a few good hits before you strike back. So horse leveling depends on how frequently you peek into Cyrodiil - more stam allows you to stay on horse's back when you're ambushed or attacked.

Don't worry about your internet. You will still get random disconnects. Today was especially bad, the usually weekend problem plus more people due to the free to play. The servers just can't handle high traffic, it seems, not that you are completely safe from getting booted when there is not much going on.

With that said the most disconnects for me happen when I'm relogging from one character to another - quite a few kicks to the starting screen.

Yes the skyshard thing will be in the crown store when youve unlocked the achievement on at least one alt. They're looking in on expanding this convenience thing to other aspect in the future like horse training. You can already buy horse training in the crown store. Oh, yeah, you're right. I wonder what he meant then. Change is coming maybe?

Maybe instead of paying crowns for 10 points, if you've fully levelled your horse on one horse then you can pay some crowns to fully level your horse on your alts. So I'm thinking it might be cheaper? Also possibly limiting this shortcut to only those who have fully levelled it once the in-game way? Will be interesting to see YAY! I've got the "Hero of the Daggerfall" achievement, which will allow me to buy Daggerfall Overlook for … 4 million gold. So if I deduct my current in-game savings, I only need to raise … 4 million more gold xD I really like the look of this house though, so I wanted that achievement :3
