Sorry about that, sorted it now. That’s what I get for posting on desktop mode with an iPhone. That happens! No apologizes needed. In reply to your post: Thank you. Yes I got an Xbox One X from my uncle, a leather jacket from my mother and lots of dark chocolate, which is my fav! I'm sorry to hear that. I am sure 2019 will be a better year for many. It seems the last few years have been pretty hard on a lot of people. What I love about the Internet is knowing I'm not alone in my pain and can share and help others. Yep I echo that. I hope 2019 is a good year for everyone *cough* Anthem *cough*. Yeah the internet is a great resource for that kind of thing but I’ve seen it have a negative effect too. For people with health anxiety it gives them an almost exhaustive list of articles and opinion pieces for people to check their symptoms on. Got a headache? TUMOUR OF THE BRAIN YOU’RE DEAD IN 6 WEEKS. Got a bit of an upset stomach? YOU HAVE CANCER! It’s a double edged sword From some people.

I also have hypochondria and if I read any of those things, I will be ill for no reason! I just saw my doctor this year and was told I was in perfect health, and my eye doctor said my eyes were great, which also meant my heart was great, but in my mental state I was ready for the grave! Now I avoid all types of media and set my phone to weather alerts and breaking news that affects where I live only, and I avoid places online with toxic fandoms and at home I do yoga, listen to soothing music and play video games to unwind.

Ha been there too, my doctor hates me. I’m always asking for allsorts of tests, I’ve even been asking for prostate tests for prostate enlargement or cancer even though it’s rare at my age. The mind can make you do strange things, I find it a little scary if I’m being honest.

It's hard but if you remind yourself that you're alright and your mind can damage you more than anything you think you have, you'll find you worry less. I mean if my mind is making me ill and I worry about being ill, then logically I need to stop thinking I'm ill. It's crazy sometimes!

I used to be optimistic, but after 14 years of things just getting worse no matter how hard I tried to look on the bright side, I decided to focus more on the present, think of things I could do to make things better instead of convince myself it'll get better on its own, but I refuse to ever let myself think anything is impossible or will end in misery for me. How’s everybody getting on this Christmas? I'm SO glad it's almost over... just fucking NYE to go

Seems like you only follow the mainstream narrative (since they love fear porn). Go to YouTube and learn to figure out the disingenuous crowd from real deal. When it comes to comes to listening to the authorities or everyday people like you an I.... And before complaining that YouTube is a bad source of information, know that you can learn just about everything on YouTube these days (how to cook, repair vehicles, get unstuck in videogames). Think about it, when was the last time anyone went to GameFAQs over YouTube for getting unstuck or finding an item in a videogame?

Pessimism is the default position. Optimism is a mental disorder, just like some "dysphoria". I knew someone with dysphoria and that shit really fucks him up. Admittedly, a trans guy, but still.

For anybody who does suffer with health anxiety/hypochondriasis who might get a little offended by this, it’s worth pointing out this person ‘believes’ that the earth is flat. But then again I’m just a slave to the narrative.

Indeed. I recommended watching this video. Gender dysphoric folks need some "patience" and proper treatment, not what's the woke fashion right now in Western big cities.

But then again I’m just a slave to the narrative. Well I'll then apologize for any offense. None was intended. And maybe you should research flat Earth. That way you'll realize there's no lie big enough, thus free you from this confinement. Alas, starting with flat Earth is to much cognitive dissonance to slaves of the narrative (no offense, we've all been there). Start smaller and work your way up. My journey started with looking into and practicing alternative health.

My journey started with looking into and practicing alternative health. No problem, I shouldn’t be bringing up other threads that have nothing to do with this as some sort of point scoring exercise that was bad form on my part. I guess I’m just wary that I started this thread and if it devolves into slanging matches about treatment methods/the finer details of mental illness and someone ends up getting triggered by it then that’s all on me and I don’t need that guilt. I just wanted people to feel like they weren’t alone and there was a place they could share their experiences so to speak.

Any official post I make has the moderator post line at the top, and this guy at the bottom. In this case they're not there as I was making a more casual remark in answer to the OP, letting them know that if the thread should descend into mockery or a big derailment, against the spirit of the OP, we're just a message away. No reports, no warnings.

It’ll be fine, if anybody gets a bit rowdy I’ll send DragonKingReborn round to insert his Kermit puppet right up their back passage. That is quite the mental image. The good thing is, if it gives anyone PTSD then at least they’re in the right thread

I'm not one to post personal info on the Internets but I've said OCD multiple times on this forum, especially about games, so OCD it is. Everything has its place. It not be neat and tidy at home that is usually associated with OCD, but I know where things are and how they are set.
