I'm a guy and my preference is for human and elf guys, but I rode the bull and would totally have romanced Varric in DA2. Honestly, I probably should've voted for everything since I usually end up playing a female character at some point too.

Voted everything a lady can romance. While I still haven't actually romanced everybody yet, I have plans (and world states) for every option. I have priorities though. I usually have a soft spot for the KISA, though in both DA2 and DAI I ended up with a different canon LI than I had planned, because the chemistry was just something special with someone else. For instance, I had no intentions of ever making a Solavellan, but then my Elf just had a certain something with him and I ended up going through that rabbit hole.

I`m a lady and i voted all the options. No matter the race or gender, if i find a character interesting i`ll try the romance. Although in my first playthrough it`s almost certain i`ll romance the male human.

I'm a guy, and I'll romance the guy, who's interesting. (I voted all 4 races.) It not excluded I'll try another possibility, for example, I liked Morrigan's romance. But I just hope we will get a plot-relevant, story-rich gay romance. Still, Anders was the best in it – from every view to me.

I know that this is very likely not a representational sample of the audience at large. But it really interesting to see how this is playing out. If I were a developer and I saw data like this, I would probably stick with human and elf LIs for straight male characters. And I would definitely include either a straight or bisexual elf guy as well. And I'd probably include another bisexual qunari guy at some point down the road.
Fascinating that ladies who like ladies are the only group who put humans at the bottom of their requests.
Sad to see that dwarves are still the least interesting to people. Even the giant grey skinned horned race gets more love than dwarves. But dwarf-mancers are legion, so I'm sure we'll continue to fight like Spartans for our dwarf-y love. LOL. Also sad to see that guys don't seem interested in qunari ladies. I guess that just leaves more strong tall ladies for gomez to climb like a tree.

"Oh, my... penis sneezed. Genitals, am I right, fellow humans? Ahaha! Gesundheit, penis!" "Thanks. By the stone it's dusty in here." "Did your cock just talk?" "Why, yes... doesn't everyone's?"

I'll probably just play males, and romance human, elf, qunari men. Maybe human or qunari woman as well. Like, I really like Cassandra so I was very happy to break away from my "must collect the gayz" playthrough habit for 2 runthroughs.

Maybe it's less that they don't like humans, and more that we've had three f/f humans and they're angling for something different..? So much defamation against boy dorfs in this thread, gasp! I present this extensive argument for dwarf lovin', aka check out this cute shit: And girl dorfs, 😋

Also, I was swooning over my handsome Cadash the other day as I remembered that I never did Trespasser with him. I mean, who wouldn't want to romance this stud...... (but I'm biased)

It's interesting that male dwarves (for men or women) rate so much lower in comparison to female dwarves (for men and women). I think maybe people are used to short women but not used to short men, or maybe it's the beards that put people off..? Lol.

I mean, there's hot stuff like Varric and then there's which probably isn't everyone's cup of tea. But female dwarves usually look more like short humans than actually dwarves.

Well, what else would a race that generally just looks like humans but with shorter torsos, arms and legs whose only way to differ themselves from humans is a long, magnificent beard which humans also can grow, look like? Spoilers: not miniature qunari.

I think maybe people are used to short women but not used to short men, or maybe it's the beards that put people off..? Lol. For me, it's not the height at all. I like short guys. I like elves because they're smol. I'm like 5ft 3, so I'm basically dwarf sized, myself. lol It's the broadness and hairiness and general harder facial features. I'm more into androgynous men, so the hyper-masculine appearance doesn't work for me. I feel like boy dorfs are probably in a rough spot because people that like smol men often slant towards liking androgynous men, which is why elfy boys are doing pretty good for men and women. The people into super masculine beardy/squared features/etc. are somewhat more likely to also want height, so they'd probably prefer a qunari or just Blackwall type human. I don't think there's a big number of people that like both smol men and very masculine men combined. Female dwarves don't really look more masculine, or just muscular/angular, in the way males do, though, imo. They're just shorter and slightly more curvy, but they usually have "cute" feminine faces and little obvious muscle. I would guess that's why they rated better with straight guys than qunari women.

Well, my first choice is I'm a lady and I would romance a female elf, I just can't resist those pointy ears. But I guess my track record shows it depends more on character than race, because my DA otp is Leliana and City Elf Warden, in DA2 I'm torn between Merrill and Isabela, and in DAI I pined after our adorable dwarven scout

What I'm saying is that most Dragon Age Inquisition female dwarves are generally pretty little humans (Valta, Dagna, Harding) while the male dwarves are pretty varied in appearance, not shying away from big beards, big noses and big ears, which are very dwarfy features to me, making male dwarfs look more like what I'd imagine a fantasy dwarf being, instead of just miniature humans, that most female dwarves (in DAI) are.

This was basically my thought, too. The dude dwarves often have really exaggerated noses and at least very wide, squared jaws beyond what the human characters have. There's also way more broadness to their bodies than the female dwarves have. Female dwarves have a much more "conventionally attractive" and generally normal human appearance in DA than the male dwarves.

I mean look at the damn concept art for male/female dwarves in DA. It's pretty telling that male dwarves represent a more classic idea of fantasy dwarves while the women are still pretty '' easy on the eyes '' for most people. And while I'm not attacking Bioware for this being the case, it probably IS a reason people are more interested in romancing female dwarves than male dwarves.

Clearly we need some dwarf romance options.
I'm a guy and would prefer to romance human, dwarf, or qunari males. Really not interested in elves at all.
My characters on the other hand could romance any race/gender options since I like to create a wide variety of characters.
