I'm another equal-opportunity romancer...as long as I can do it as a female character (usually some kind of non-human). Their race/sex doesn't matter to me for video game romances, just if they mesh with what I'm roleplaying at the time. If I have the chance to play another qunari woman I absolutely will, so there better be some good romances on that end.

I haven’t voted in the poll (having the same dilemma as Artemis) Sorry about that. 😓 I'd edit it if I could. Hmmm... that would be interesting to see. At the end of the day it's difficult because for me, personality trumps everything else, and so far most of my favorites have been elves or humans because.... that's what we've had lol. Even though I would quite like a dwarf or another qunari someday. I don't know if I have a "top choice" - I'm jonesing for the very human Calpernia, we're loooong overdue for a dwarf romance, and a female qunari would be nice after having Bull and Sten in our party.

If your answer is that you'd be fine with anything as long as you liked the character, just select all that apply This is pretty much me. I'm assuming the "I" in "I'm a...." is referring to the player and not the PC the player is playing?

Yes, refers to the player rather than their character, 'cause I'm trying to get a feel for what each demographic likes.

Yeah, even though I’m... shall we call it a “treehugger”, Isabela and Dorian were both fun romances, despite being humans, and I agree that Calpernia is intriguing. I wouldn’t rule out the Elegant Abbess or the Well-Read Pig Farmer either, though of course I’m really hoping for the Horned Knight or the Purveyor of Teas. If personality was all equal, and assuming there’s no sylvans for me to... hug... I’d probably go for a qunari Qunari of any gender. An older tamassran would be fun, or perhaps a Qunari engineer just so I can watch them geek out about tech Dagna-style. Personality is key though — even though he’s a qunari (and possibly a Qunari, depending on choices) I couldn’t stand Iron Bull’s gigantic throbbing ego, so none of my Inquisitors romanced him. Meanwhile my wardens cannot get their hands off Zevran, despite the fact that his weird surfer hair is objectively silly.

My top choice is elf, but I checked human too once I realized we could just because human is usually safe. lol
As far as concepts go, the game is still so far off it's hard to pick something concrete. An ancient elf, Tevinter elf ex-slave/mage, or a human/elf fog warrior would all be good. I could maybe be swayed by a qunari that has left the qun and is actively critical of it if they slimmed him down from Iron Bull's ridiculousness. They've never had a qunari that genuinely was critical of the qun the way Alistair says the Chantry/templars are shit, or so many Andrastrian mages hate the circles, or Sera shits on elves. Iron Bull was never even as critical of it as Dorian is of Tevinter. I think seeing someone that proves qunari don't need the qun to not be savage, like Iron Bull expressed fear, would be interesting. I'd really love to have that companion, even outside of romance options.

I picked all the "I'm a lady and..." options since I've romanced everyone in each DA game at least once, except for Sera, whom I really don't like. So, as long I can stand them, I'll give whomever a shot. I may not like it much (see Iron Bull, Cassandra, Sebastian, Leliana, Morrigan - all one-timers) but I'll at least give it a go to see what it's all about.

Wow! I'm pleasantly surprised by how close everything is. The only big disparity I see is that both m/f and f/m are way more into humans and elves than dwarves or qunari. But even then, the gap's not that wide. .....dwarves have the lowest votes amongst everybody except f/f, where humans rank the lowest lol.

Seriously, even the tal-vashoth are pretty qun-y. lol I bet we’ll even meet some current Qunari with varied interpretations of the Qun. It’s truly open to more nuanced interpretations, a lot of the current practices aren’t found anywhere in Koslun’s writings. But all the Qunari — even the Tal-Vashoth — that we’ve met so far have been people who were specifically selected for war, foreign espionage, or the priesthood. All jobs where extreme loyalty and conformity is a key qualification, regardless of which particular government they work for. I could easily imagine a tamassran or engineer or farmer having a more complicated view of the Qun, because their jobs demand a certain degree of openness and creativity. We never see these people in southern Thedas, but hopefully the next game ventures closer to their homes.

m/f is hardest for me too and I don't know why. I guess I can relate more to f/f and f/m, and with m/m I really feel like I'm a totally different character with his own tastes, but when it comes to m/f it's usually that I wanna smooch that lady but she's straight (Viconia, Safiya, Yennefer, Morrigan....) and the dissonance comes from being really into her but having to be a dude I guess? Lol. allow me to change that maybe to a hell yes 😎👌 Hell to the yeah I really want to smooch those lips, my god.

I'd really love to have that companion, even outside of romance options. I'd be interested in a character like this as well, regardless of romance (though can you imagine a buff Tal-Vashoth woman scooping you up into her arms? ) Ahem, it's a perspective that hasn't really been explored yet. Sten was firmly dedicated, enough that he eventually becomes Arishok. Then, there was Bull, who was frankly pretty bad at being a Qunari or at least fitting the expectations of his role in the Qun. He got attached to bas, sympathized with specific mages he cared about, lived a life of nonfunctional hedonism. So that leaves Vashoth, who were never born into the Qun, and ex-Qunari who left before the events of the story. It'd be especially interesting if we could get an ex-Qunari who used to be a higher-up in rank and decided to defect because of either personal ideals, conflicting loyalties, or some traumatic event that made them rethink everything. They would know enough about Qunari society to be able to criticize it accurately. Alternatively, you could have a qunari who was never born into the Qun and therefore has an outsider's perspective on it like most of Thedas.

I wouldn't mind a person who was kinda like the original warden in the DAO trailers. Someone older and scruffy looking with lots of life experience and bit of a "I do things MY way" attitude. It's a cliché, but it's one I like . Technically I do not care what race, though it would be atypical for an Elven companion, and therefore, imho, more interesting.

Given the level of thirst for Orsino, Inquisitor Ameridan, and Abelas, it seems like there’s definitely an appetite for that. Solas will probably always be “technically the oldest” LI in the games, but he always reads as kind of young, both physically and socially. Spent too long sleeping I guess.

Most of the romance option for straight women were warriors (5 warriors, 2 rogues and 2 mages if i`m not mistaken). It would be nice if we got a rogue or a mage in the next game. I wouldn`t mind an archer rogue like Nathaniel Howe or Ifan (from Divinity Original Sin 2) or a bookworm mage who is confident in his magic abilities but is not cocky about it or a broody mage like Aloth (from Pillars of Eternity Deadfire).

Well, the qunari ladies in the comics and Heroes of Dragon Age are, generally speaking, pretty hot. Actual in-game Qunari ladies have been mostly YEEESH They have the tools to make some fine looking ladies, but chose not to. To each their own, but when we have a race like this, I like there to be more distinction. I actually prefer for Qunari, or even dwarf, women to be less conventionally attractive. Here's an example of a Qunari female that I played around with for a bit: Edit: Provided image example.

what i like is irrelevant since it's character based and my characters are not me. My char's are not me, either, but what I the player like is still relevant. I romance characters I like. If I don't like them, I'm not going to do the mental gymnastics necessary to create a character to romance them (Sera in DAI, for example). Unfortunately, sometimes it backfires and characters I liked enough to romance I end up *not* liking as a result of the romance (Jaal in MEA being the prime example here).

I chose all of the "I'm a lady..." options except dwarf guy. I can't even really say why, except that I am just not into dudes being shorter than I am. I guess if I was playing a dwarf I'd go for it, but I don't really like playing anything other than human or elf. I'd most love a dwarf or qunari lady though. Been there done that with pretty much everything else, so I don't really have preferences there for type and just hope I'll love the characters. But...but... they're just the right height to show a lady a good time! (At least according to Oghren.)
