Was checking out Origin store to see if I can pre-order Anthem. Just noticed ME:A Deluxe is on sale at less than $12.
Is the SP campaign now worth the time playing?
(If anyone is wondering why I did not post this in ME:A forum - would you trust the folks there or the ones here? )

It has some pretty graphics with space ships, and planets . but not much story and lots of pathetic attempts at humor... but i did come across some really nice short interactions . They are few and far between but they kept me going. as for combat, well, i'd say it's a bit easier than ME3 SP , so take that as you will. The MP is a total mess .

I’d say it’s worth it. It has a very good campaign with a smooth and fluid combat and interesting characters. It’s worth your 12 bucks.

One thing I didn't mention is that I never played in the early demo. I demo'd the game after all patching was done. Still have about 45mins of free trial left. The SP did seem better than the MP to me, but I had real issues with the tone. Just my opinion though, we have been down this road

(If anyone is wondering why I did not post this in ME:A forum - would you trust the folks there or the ones here? ) I would asy try the demo first if you're not sure but $12 sounds like a good deal to me regardless of the game as that's like £5 in my terms bargain bin price. If I didn't already have the game I'd take the chance. But I did buy a game recently that like MEA received rather mixed reviews for a bargain price though and whilst I've not played it myself yet what I've seen of it looked quite good fun which is why I took the gamble as I felt if I like it I've landed a bargain if I don't it's only £10 wasted so not a big deal as I felt I could afford that loss.

Ten hours is enough to get an idea. For me, it was worth the retail price to play through the SP campaign and get in a little multiplayer. However, it is nowhere near the value of the rest of the trilogy. There is nothing in the game that draws my attention for multiple playthroughs and I grow bored of the multiplayer very quickly. 6/10 Alt+F4 Load up ME3MP.

All I know is that I dropped it 10 hours into the game. There was a NEW Mass Effect game and I dropped it because boredom.
Uninterested dialogues (childish at times), doing circles in huge maps searching for fetch items (I'm too buzy for this), hillarious bugs with teammates, biovar constantly confusing Trilogy's sci-fi tech-talk with magic (in space). SJW stuff is present, as *new* new-age era commands. And no, go save your own damn scientists you ugly pink Batarian wanna-be.
Let's not forget the generic and dull enemy design (in 3 we got all sorts of enemies, like Banshees to scatter the team around and Tanks, Phantoms, A-bombs, turrets to make the game challenging).
Death of diversity. No combat rolls, no teleportation dodges, no fat kits. Now you get Jetpacks instead.
There's no Adrenaline Rush and no Claymore (too unique to be in this lame joke of a game).
They are some good ideas, sure, but it was not enough to save it. It would have lasted longer than a few measly months if it was the case.
My 2¢. Biovar's stinking carcass is about to launch their Swan Song... Sorry, Anthem. Brace yourselves.

The only parts I liked about ME:ASP was the fully automatic, 0 recoil, 100% accuracy N7 Valkyire that hits like a M-99 Saber shooting at 900 RPM, & my Turian Waifu burning my steak.

If you like ME combat in general, definitely, because MEA has IMO the best ME single player combat yet. As someone who likes ME3MP, you should be fine with the live play and enjoy using three active powers and your guns (which are easy and fun to craft BTW).
I like to focus on the critical path a lot and there are also some very good missions and challenging bosses in the open world. On the negative side there are some cringe worthy scenes written/directed that might be hard to circumvent without knowing the game and some side story stuff that annoys me.
Overall because of the great gameplay I probably poured as many or even more hours into the single player campaign as I have in the trilogy games. I'm at eight or nine full playthroughs and counting, so despite being probably not as great as hoped, it is IMO a highly enjoyable game that was definitely worth my money.
A final tip if you buy it: turn up the volume of your speakers, while keeping music volume of your game at 100 and lowering the dialogue and effects volume to around 30-40. Otherwise you will miss out on the atmospheric music.

*blablabla...* No combat rolls, no teleportation dodges, no fat kits. Now you get Jetpacks instead. No slow combat rolls, good. Teleportation dodges available. No fat kits, good. Now we get, at last, ability to jump and not just hide behind covers.

Who is your favourite character in the MET? What is your favourite dialogue from the MET? What is your favourite gun/map/char from ME3MP? I'll wager most of us here will say those questions are unfair, there are just too many to choose from. ME:A on the other hand is so generic that I can hardly remember the names of the in-game chars, planets and the plot. Add to that 50 irrellevant fetch quests and it felt very cumbersome to get through. Those few ideas and stories that got me intrigued were not fully implemented. I liked the idea that when you chose your male/female protagonist, the other would be part of your crew, like you would have both male and femshep aboard the Normandy. Sadly not used. I also found the personal story of the protagonist interesting since it made the connection to the MET and the Reaper war. However, it doesn't have a conclusion but a sorta cliff hanger at the end, apparently to be concluded in ME:A 2 or a DLC. Finally, your protagonist choices have absolutely no consequences on the story so you have no incentive to replay it other than "I'll bang another alien in this playthrough"... TL;DR No Claymore No Bang

I am talking single player MEA, BTW. Haven't gotten the urge to grind in MEAMP when I still have ME3MP. Also I can nicely immerse in the Reaper war as a reason for playing ME3MP, while in Andromeda I don't think all these multiplayer agents should even be out there. That's the pathfinder's job!
