If you're the type of person who can look past the problems that people tend to bring up, then I'd say give a chance. There's some memorable characters and missions in the game if you're willing to push past the bad/mediocre stuff. The combat is pretty decent too, but not as good as ME3 combat, imo.

Oh sorry I didnt notice it was the "veterans" area Never forget this place was founded by a dude that was incredibly dedicated to datamining ME3MP. Most of us "veterans" are really here on nuBSN to talk about this game; I am a rare one in that I come out of the cave more than many Your dedication to that game is impressive; obviously you love it. If more of us felt that way, this wouldn't be a discussion. For $12, it probably won't break the bank. Somehow for me I just can't support them for making that game, and I wasn't sucked in enough to keep playing the SP, and my morbid curiosity with MP lasted about half an hour.

I agree with those who said try the 10 hour demo first. If you are as bored as I was after 2 hours you be glad you’re not also down $12.
I put a few hundred hours into MEAMP but that was before the lootpocalypse. I can’t imagine starting a manifest now. Definitely not worth the time let alone $12.

RNG issues aside, I enjoy it when a manage to get a lobby with a decent host. Being honest though, if you're not from North America or Europe, don't bother with Andromeda at all. Be prepared for extremely frustrating lag issues otherwise.
Also, at least on Playstation, it actually feels easier to get a full silver/gold lobby in ME3 than in Andromeda.
ME3 has better gameplay (IMO) and offers a more polished experience overall, but I still think Andromeda MP could've become a much better game if EA/Bioware hadn't abandoned it.

Was checking out Origin store to see if I can pre-order Anthem. Just noticed ME:A Deluxe is on sale at less than $12.
Is the SP campaign now worth the time playing?
(If anyone is wondering why I did not post this in ME:A forum - would you trust the folks there or the ones here? )
If you want a great and FUN story with fun and great combat then yes it's a worth a buy.

Put 500 hours in and enjoyed it. Think of it as game length Omega DLC. MEMP had the better multiplayer in my view.

If Andromeda was a stand-alone game, something different from ME franchise i would say that it's not a bad game, but as ME game sucks.Downgrade in every aspect.SP worth one playthrough.Just my two cents.

*blablabla...* No combat rolls, no teleportation dodges, no fat kits. Now you get Jetpacks instead. No slow combat rolls, good. Teleportation dodges available. No fat kits, good. Now we get, at last, ability to jump and not just hide behind covers. Son... you come around, cherry picking your arguments(very selectively, I might add), disparage combat rolls(which are, in my(admittedly, IMHO) opinion, way awesome) and glorify them jetpacks(again IMHO, but damn... the suckage!), and, most egregiously... you dare imply the fat turians are anything else than, well... glorious?
I mean... beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but you'd be hard pressed to find anybody around here that would argue against fat turians being most awesome, beautiful and all around glorious kits. Also, unlike them Armiger pretenders, they actually take some skill to master and be good with.
You have guts, I'll give you that. I can admire that, in a fashion. But you lack in common sense. If your goal was to find some converts... you failed in a rather spectacular fashion.
I never played MEAMP. But I did watch some footage. And all I can say is... if Andromeda lacks fat turians and Claymore... it must be a sign. That it wasn't awesome enough to play host to them. And as such, it is automatically disqualified from any further discussion.
On a(slightly) more serious note... man, what the hell are you doing here? I don't go over to your haven and try to convince you with ass pulls about my game... why would you do that to us?

hold on. what happened. don't tell me it's the thread title change shit again?? BlackMage , please tell me it was you bud Some eagle-eyed viewers have probably already spotted that the original post was edited by a moderator. So it's very possible that the title was changed too. I'm not sure what was the reason to be completely honest. It's not like this section is full of nerds who report every off topic attempt. Should I be concerned about the whole situation? Or was it requested by the author. Dunno. But I do know that if you have 12$ burning in your wallet, you can spend them on Andro. Who am I to judge who enjoys what? Personally, I think Andromeda wasn't a bad game. It wasn't good either. Yea, I know. I didn't discover new America with this, but that's how I feel. There was a couple of interesting concepts in the game, but for most of the time, I felt like there was no depth to them. It happened out of nowhere, lasted too short, and ended even faster. So before you had a chance to get attached to characters, certain story arcs, it was already over. It left me disappointed more than once sadly. Combat in the campaign is interesting to say the least. The power profiles idea was fun. Individual cooldowns too. Multiplayer? ME 3 all the way for me. ME:A on the other hand is so generic that I can hardly remember the names of the in-game chars, planets and the plot. Oh I will remind you of one of the best scenes in the game. I know you've asked me not to show it ever again, but I can't help it. I'm not evil, I promise!

ME3MP completely destroys Andromeda's product.....everybody over there is jumping all over the place..... ..no kit is unique and no specific traits....no combat rolls, teleport, asari slide dodge (well they do have that).....fat turians or Krogans?....but more importantly...no PHOENIX VANGUARD?... I tried to give Andromeda a chance on my 2nd playthrough just to see if i maybe missed something or maybe i just pre-judged it....nope, Andromeda is a very mediorce experience....i've mentioned this a billion times already in that Andromeda was the first ME game i ever fell asleep on while playing it...i can play ME2 and 3 multiple times and still get enjoyment out of them...in Mass Effect 2 and 3 i was worried about characters dying and trying to keep them alive...Mordin's segment in 3 and Legion's final segment in 3....incredibly heart wrenching moments... In Andromeda?....i wouldn't have cared if the entire crew got sucked up in a black hole....uninteresting characters and dialogue...the sjw stuff?....just .....man these dev's just need to make a good game and not act like they are checking off a list to make sure certain groups are happy.....lastly i will say that the game has incredible visuals and that for $12 bucks, it is decent enough for 1 playthrough...but i will probably never touch that game again...i have played ME2 and 3 back to back multiple times with the returning characters from 2 and that was such a more satisfying experience every single time....

I liked Andromeda well enough (8/10) and think it's worth $12 for SP. Definitely play strategically to maximize your fun. I did two playthroughs and the first was a completionist playthrough that dragged a bit. The second time around I ignored everything that didn't interest me (crafting, mining, Tasks, fetchquests) and had a great time. The voice acting is good, despite some bad dialogue, and combat feels fresh and fun.
On the other hand, MEAMP is not worth it. I've put several thousand hours into ME3MP but about 45 in MEAMP. The game is buggy (I reliably lose sound on the second or third match), the UI is horrid, and the playerbase is smaller than ME3MP at this point. I can definitely find a match in ME3MP faster than in MEAMP. It also feels and sounds off, IMO. For example, the krogan move too slowly, but then slide around weightlessly, the combat sounds cheap and the sound "behind" you is dampened. The sheer number of things to grind is overwhelming and I didn't really like most of the guns I unlocked.

I have no strong opinion about Andromeda, i never finished its SP (the Civ V game i started at the same time was more interesting), and i only played a bit of MP, until they released all the weapons in different colors and MCCXCIII "new" character cards, bloating the loot pool, so i can't say anithyng.
I just wanted to say "hi" to all the users coming here that I've never seen before in this subforum.

I just wanted to say "hi" to all the users coming here that I've never seen before in this subforum. Ditto, hi to new names, maybe I should leave this sub at some point just to see what else happens around here? Based on how this thread has gone, maybe not.... On topic; I played ME:A on release, there is some humour, engaging content, and even some touching moments with your crew. It is however mired by content that was clearly rushed by an inexperienced and/or mismanaged development team, the bugs and polish quality present on release was a real concern. While much of this was patched, you cannot patch the script, easily ME:A's weakest and most inconsistent part. I feel like the script was created by seven different people who had no contact with each other, and then pieced together about a week before deadline, it jolts from good to stupid faster than a Salarian can insult your mother! The evidence of a rushed product, produced by an "B quality team" seeps through in many areas, visuals isn't one of those post patches and it is a good looking game! Again I stress the inconsistent script quality and an antagonist that feels like something out of Diablo3. While I personally distrust aggregate sites, ME:A's metacritic and average user scores reflect the legacy it left compared to its forebears. Lets not forget ME3 suffered an absolute shitstorm of backlash over the ending, and despite people still hating the ending(s) today including the expanded ones, its still rated as the pinnacle of a solid triliogy. I gave ME:A an 90 hour SP completionist playthrough and dumped about 50 hours on the MP before I walked away, this was before a lot of the gun balance took place in MEA:MP, I don't regret the time spent on the SP, I'd certainly get $12 worth of enjoyment out of it. I cannot speak to the quality of the MP as it stands today. It comes down to this, would I play ME:A again? Yes in a strictly non completionist play-through. Would I revisit the ME:A MP? No.
