So, dear ME3MPers, anyone played that ANTHEM demo and wanna report ?

I'm bored, so just popped in to the Anthem co-op forum for a look.

It's dead, Jim.

My three friends who played Anthem stopped about a month ago, it's DOA indeed.

Considering the fact that it came 7 years ago it's not that surprising. Anthem was released two months ago.

Just FYI: I have recently started recording full solo runs on the highest difficulty of the legendary missions which are basically missions from the main story that you can replay. I think 2 or 3 should be left to do (and one is uploading right now and not yet live). So if anybody is interested how the game plays after the most recent patch you can take a look there. I always play them with the Interceptor as well as the Ranger. The cataclysm event might also be interesting for some of you people who like to go for high scores and leaderboard placement. At first I was a bit confused and annoyed with this content but now I'm loving it and just wish I could aim for higher scores with a solid team more often.

Anthem is available for less than USD 20 on Origin now.

BioWare general manager Casey Hudson announced in a new blog post that the developers at BioWare will be redesigning Anthem

that will reinvent “the core gameplay loop.” The effort is meant to be a larger overhaul Anthem instead of just a series of updates and expansions.
In an official BioWare blog post, Hudson thanked readers for one year of Anthem a game he says “represented a big leap into new territory for us as a studio.” Hudson acknowledged that since launch there have been critical feedback from fans saying Anthem “needs a more satisfying loot experience, better long-term progression, and a more fulfilling end game.”That says it all about this game. A total fail. There was a potential,but they noobed it.

Anthem should have just been a solid single player experience from the jump....the javelins are unique enough to distinguish themselves from the Mass Effect universe and the story from what i remembered, focused on some sort of creation/reality power that really could have been interesting.


If they really want to blow the doors off, commit to creating a single player experience (fully fleshed out ) and keep this looter/mp stuff in how it was structured in ME3 MP....this can still happen,..(assets are already in place to pursue a sp aspect)....the next ME game is in hiatus...and they can have the best of both worlds by committing to a fully evolved SP experience while still working out the kinks in their looter MP/experience.

I just feel EA overall is mucking up Bioware with all of their business decisions.....Anthem never felt like a true Bioware game and even tho Bioware stated that this was a game they wanted to make, we all know that was not the case. I think if Bioware was structured with somebody say like "Sony" who pretty much let these companies do what they do best, would probably fare much better at getting back to making great SP content.

EA is just ruining great gaming firms....people are blasting Bioware but in truth Bioware are only doing what their Boss/Owner wants them to do....nobody at Bioware is going to say.."yeah we don't want to make this s**t, but EA is forcing us to make this crap"....when you have stories based on the mystery of creation/power and who started all of it and where did we come from?....that has the opportunity for some really compelling storytelling and narratives.....not sure if the current Bioware staff is up to the task of writing something truly special on that front, but it would have been interesting to see what they would have been able to come up with...


As we all know the next Dragon Age is slated to be a GAAS as well so i don't see that series boding well going forward either.....
